The guys love to goof off. They all filmed themselves remotely for this one during quarantine. They sent Chance the short height chart as a joke, & Chance said he filmed parts on his knees. Lol. Speaking of "quarantine", you should check out that one! It's soo cute! They did A LOT of videos for us during the lockdown & that's when Tim cut his hair & let the Grey go. 😉🥰🥰
@@rosiewoodhouse5503 Well that is disappointing. Not that they used another means to do it, but that I’ve always assumed it was Adam and now I know it isn’t.
Home Free did a series of 'quarantine' videos during the Covid lockdowns, they include "Down to the Honkytonk", "Sunday Best", "Diamond Dreams", "Meet in the Middle" and a collaboration with Peter Hollens on "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". They filmed all of these in and around their homes and it was usually their brilliant producer (Darren Rust) that put together the final product. I love the heights they gave themselves in this (just by the way, they're all around 6' tall).
In their live concert in December they performed this as a mashup with Man Of Constant Sorrow. It is their coolest song ever and in my top 3 favorites from the guys. I am sure there are live videos from fans and you can see how they sound live.
The first lead was Adam "Chance" Chance, he's the only new member of Home Free, he replaced Chris Rupp, Adam Rupp's brother and co-founder of Home Free, when he decided to do some things on his own. Chance fills bass when Tim is singing in his higher octaves. He also did the "jaw harp" in their version of "Man of Constant Sorrow". Loving your reactions!
@@annkoch1333 yes, but most HF fans will suggest to work on their earlier stuff first before reacting to Mayday. You need to know their voices and some of their tricks, on songs such as Elvira, Unchained Melody and one of 'MY' favorites the Boyz to Men song 'End of the Road' where Rob just shines. I believe this was the first HF song I discovered
I was a kid when Johnny did this song and I liked it okay but I LOVE this version! It still amazes me that they did this using their cellphones and home recording equipment in 5 different locations in 3 different states during quarantine. They put out sooo much content for their fans during lock down using just their phones and home recording equipment while other BIG named artists were bitching about not being able to do anything. That was all the same guys from any video after 2016 when Chris (one of the founders) left and Chance joined but Tim (the bass) had cut his hair. And no that was not their real heights it was just a joke (I think to see if anyone would notice and everyone did). Their heights range from 6'1 1/2 to 6'4 with Austin being the shortest and Rob being the tallest.
The guys did a great job of this Johnny Cash cover. Made it into a jazzy blues style. And they all look like some sort of criminals especially Tim & Adam. Remember this was done during quarantine so none of them were physically together. They were very creative during that time. Love the background train noises. Adam's beatboxing is crazy good & so is Tim's low notes.
Pretty much any video where the guys aren't together was done during quarantine. 🤣 No, those aren't their heights. The guys love messing with us - they're goofballs. I love this rendition of "Folsom". So unique - so Home Free. Thanks Josh. 🍟
One thing to know about Home Free: they definitely take the music seriously, but not themselves. Most of their videos have some sort of tongue-in-cheek element. In this, it was the height measurements. All of them are over 6’ tall. Adam, as always, did an amazing job beatboxing, and at acting like a stir-crazy inmate. (Did you catch the shotgun sound he made?) I particularly enjoyed the way their backup vocals and noises sounded like a moving train…. There has only been one member change since they won the Sing-Off competition. Adam Chance (first singer in this) took over for Chris Rupp when he left in 2016. In fact, Chris helped the group find Chance. Unfortunately, they don’t have any more Johnny Cash covers, but there are so many great songs yet for you to discover. Many are covers, but there are also a lot of originals. Some of my favorites are Woman/Amen, Hillbilly Bone, Country Fried Pop, Listen to the Music, Ain’t Goin Down, Brothers in Arms, Driver, and Winter Song … but any song they do won’t disappoint!
I can recommend an interview Chris Rupp did with reactor QoFy in August 2021. Chris is very candid in it explaining why he left HF and that he actually was not involved in the recruitment of Chance. Chance was a good friend of Tim's well before he joined Home Free so was well known to all the group. The pertinent info is at the 33 min mark of this very interesting interview.
One thing about Home Free, they may tamper with the tempo, accent a different part, definitely put there swag on a song, but never - NEVER disrespect the original version. They always pay homage to what made the song great in the first place.
"change it up a bit" is a strange way of saying upgrade. jk 😄 I think Folsom Prison Blues was recorded during the C shutdown as was another great one, American Pie ft. Don McLean. Put it on your list?
It can't be otherwise with Home Free, this is amazing again. Beautifully sung, but also very well performed. Even in prison they are still funny. It's like the perfect recipe. Mix up some great voices, add some of one voice, then the other, throw in the exact amount drum kit, some low bass and great humor and you've the best result you can have!
These five amazing gentleman have so much fun doing these videos... You can see it in their faces... Their seriousness as well as Their comedy... These men are so Talented.. I love Home Free so much.. I've been following them for many years and they still amaze me.. Just when you think they can't outdo their selves guess what they outdo their selves.. This is why I Love them so much the Talent is just insane.. Love my Boys Love My Home Free..🏡🆓🏡🍟
The beat boxer, Adam Rupp, is so amazing on how he performs the percussion on their songs. He practices refining his skills for several hours each day, always experimenting new percussion sounds. It's exciting when he introduces something new in the groups new releases, he often has us scratching our heads and saying 'How did he do that?'. I'm still baffled by his 'har-Man-ica', otherwise known as his 'no-manica'.
The only change in the group since 2016 was Adam Chance (The guy who parts his hair to the side) He filled in for Chris Rupp (The guy with the cowboy hat and creator of the group with his brother Adam the beatboxer, back in 2000) who left the group to pursue other music avenues.
These guys are so awesome at everything, but also like to joke around and have fun! The heights were a joke and are not correct… I love their rendition of this song, it is so amazing!!🔥❤️ Glad you are enjoying them too!! Keep them coming!👏👏👏
that's it for the Johnny Cash, but they have some other legends songs....like Willy Nelson's "On the road again" which was filmed during the Quarantine, and yes the guys looked a little depressed but the song is GREAT !! They love touring & playing in front of crowds !!! They've said before the best part of their job is doing concerts THEY LOVE PERFORMING
I think they are all in the 6' range +/- a couple inches. I think Rob's showed around 6'8" while Chance barely hit 5'. This was during g quarantine so they filmed separately. So glad they are able to be together again!
Tim cut his hair, Austin grew his out. Adam donated his hair for wigs for children with leukemia. 5'0" tall guy is 6'2". 6'8" guy is 6'4". They have a hard time being serous in their videos, unless the song is serious.
Alll the guys are over 6 feet.... You might enjoy their version of Paul Cauthen's 'Everybody walkin this land'. In my book Paul Cauthen is a modern Johnny Cash, and this song is incredibly powerful. Also: happy you're enjoying your trip down the rabbit hole. The Home Fries around the world love adding to our number - hi from Denmark.
Your hair is beautiful! Check out the video that’s called 22 times Tim went subwoofer and search for the one where Tim breaks speakers singing Josh Turner’s just to be your man live. Check the longer version ❤😂❤❤😂
Love this one. One of my favorites. Only one change since their debut on the NBC show the Sing Off (they won in 2013). Chris Rupp (usually in a cowboy hat or ball cap) left the group in 2016 and Chance took over. He has the short dark beard and is the baritone/bass and was one of the two leads in this. He looks a little like Leo DiCaprio. Yes, Tim (the deep bass) cut his hair during the pandemic and let the gray show since he couldn’t get to the hairdresser. This was during the pandemic so they weren’t together. Don’t pay attention to the height charts….they’re all wrong. The boys are tall though….6’1” to 6’4”. Glad you enjoyed it. That’s the only change- Chris to Chance since 2013.
The heights were a joke ...they're all between almost 6' 2" and a bit over 6" 3". If you see them standing in a line up doing a song you'll notice they're all about the same height. Sometimes one will look a bit taller because of boots.
For a real shift in style, listen to "How Great Thou Art", or "In The Blood".The current group is High Tenor - Austin Brown, Tenor - Rob Lundquist, Baritone - Adam Chance, Bass - Tim Faust, beatboxer/Tenor - Adam Rupp.

LOL They have a sense of humor.. they are between 6'1 3/4 (Austin) and I believe Rob is the tallest at 6'3 0r 4. And yeah, this was a quarantine video, so they were all in their own houses. They all took the down time to get fitter and Tim cut his hair and et the grey grow out. If you like the low registers, you should take a look at their cover of Dire Straits, Brothers in Arms. But also, dive into some of their original music, it's really very good.
Chance, the lead singer is actually 6"2, all of them are between 6'1 to 6'4. This was done during quarantine and they each had to put up their own backdrop in their own homes and these guys do have a sense of humor as well. Rob (with the bigger beard) is not 6"8" either even though he is the tallest member at 6'4". Tim the bass during that time also cut his hair to a lot of people's dismay and let the gray start showing while he was in his home on lockdown, but it's still the same guy.
The song was almost haunting and I don't remember the original giving me that, like that chill down to my bones. She really just has such a unique sound that I really felt like I wasn't really ready for her. I am not really sure why shes not better known here in the US, because honestly, before people were telling me in the comments to listen to her, I had never even heard of her. But somethings telling me that's probably not going to be the case for too much longer because she has a lot of talent and she is super unique. I feel like that's going to take her really far. I agree 100%!
Adam "racking a round" in the imaginary shotgun gets me every time. I think that one bit never gets the respect it deserves.
I just watched a Q&A with them and Adam says that was an actual shotgun sound. He received it as a Christmas gift when he was around 10.

Nah, the height measurements on the wall was a joke…
The growth charts wernt accurate 😂
They are all over 6"-it was a joke lol...
First of all - have you seen all 5 guys together? They are all about the same height - somewhere around 6 feet. Great cover of a song that's not a favorite for me.
In their live concert in December they performed this as a mashup with Man Of Constant Sorrow. It is their coolest song ever and in my top 3 favorites from the guys. I am sure there are live videos from fans and you can see how they sound live.
