      Please Seth... for the love of everything janky and better than unoriginal decks this this Fruition one, build a Splinter + Luquimetal Coating deck and play something that's still janky, yet original and actually GOOD. You have an opportunity to unveil a fun and original deck build to the world, yet keep ignoring this idea. Will you finally consider it before someone else does!?

    I don't think your explanation of how Snapcaster Mage and Runeflare Trap interact is correct... You can not cast Runeflare Trap with its alternatve cost simply because it has flashback. It's either one alternatve cost of the other, not both. Meaning in order to cast the Trap from your graveyard, you have to pay its converted mana cost, which is 6.
    ...Right? idk maybe I'm wrong lol I'll watch the video and see if this actually happens, but I am fairly confident Snapcaster doesn't work that way. Alternative costs are a one or the other or both combined, like Natural Order for example. Though I guess that's not really an "alternative cost" that's an "additional cost". But I think my point stands lol

    • @McPuffster
      @McPuffster 6 років тому

      I thought the same first, but I know Wizard's lightning gets cheap with snapcaster so this should be the same.

    • @TheFluke32
      @TheFluke32 6 років тому +17

      @@McPuffster That only works because it's a cost reduction ability that checks the cost of playing Wizard's Lightning when you play it. Alternative Casting cost works differently with Snapcaster. Snapcaster grants flashback with flashback cost = casting cost of the target. So in this case, Runeflare trap gains the Trap Ability + Flashback, each having a different cost on each.
      Mission Briefing is the card we want here

    • @cloaking764

      @@McPuffster well snapcaster + archive trap doesn't work so I'm not sure

    • @Xrilliam762
      @Xrilliam762 6 років тому +7

      @@McPuffster No, what you are talking about is a "reduced cost", that is not the same as an "alternative cost". This is why WL will cost only 1 red. An alternative cost does nothing to manipulate the value of the actual mana cost of a card, in the same way controlling a Wizard reduces Wizards Lightning by 2.

    • @blueplayer6197
      @blueplayer6197 6 років тому +2

    Hey seth! I love the use of the forced fruition, i would love to see you try the deck in the way i have built it. I built around using runeflare trap and vision skeins. I found that you need to run white if you want to live vs the linear agro decks like burn. Leyline of sanctity and ghostly prison are lock pieces that help the general gameplan. I've never been impressed with the Owl.

    In the Game at 1:09 you could probably just have played the 2nd Forced Fruition. That way OP would draw 14 cards I assume and that turn you could have kept 1 mana open for the Runeflare Trap =)

    Hey Seth, do you think you can make Waste Not and Forced Fruition work in one deck?

      That's what I thought he would build . But I like the trap idea tbh

      We played Waste Not a while ago and it was fun, and this deck was pretty fun, so maybe mashing them together we be twice as fun!

    Seems like you'd win more games if you bounced your opponent's threats rather than their lands, which in the case of the dredge game, for example, was key. Why not save the bounce spell for their Vengevine instead of wasting it on their land, when they only need 1 mana to cast their stuff anyway?

    Since you don't really have any turn 1 plays, you should be playing 4 of the RU filter land (cascade bluffs) instead of the spirebluff canals. I think they would've helped a lot more for any game where you also drew your basic mountains.

    The Incinerator guy at the end of the first game should have also attacked with bop. He would have won on that turn.

    38:12 The trolling! How many editors edit MTGGoldfish videos? Is it always the same guy (or girl?) Is it the person making the video (in this case Seth)?

    • @MTGGoldfish
      @MTGGoldfish  6 років тому +1

      Lol, editor...it's mostly just one person that helps edit my videos (and then Matt who does Deconstructed does some of the more technical stuff like spoiler videos that need animations and such).

      Used to be a standard deck, but the cards have rotated out some time ago. Sometimes One With Nothing was used as a sideboard card against Owling Mine.
      Now it's a fringe modern deck.
