You need to use a taller spud. If a Neo Pad hits in the back it means it doesn't have enough room to pivot. Using a taller spud solves this problem. With a traditional pad a thinner pad is the answer, with a Neo Pad a taller spud is the answer to this situation.
You guys are corny , my God. So basically you have put a new spin on the foam rubber / brown pads with the metal resos that George M Bundy used to use on his floating or tilting pads , which I had stripped from many a Bundy Sax. So just like the Bundy pads , ( no seating ring ) I don't know about revolutionizing the Dax pad industry. But I've seen the same before , was an idea , ahead of its time. Good luck.

The Neo Pads tilting mechanism is engineered as a toleranced part, so they function like a traditional pad once installed, they are an improvement on the Bundy tilting design yes. Yes they do seem superior to the Bundy pads 🤣 , best of luck . Try and improve upon the Beuscher Snap On Pads. That would be interesting ! Or closed cell foam pads , like Valentino 's. Again , best of luck Gents .

Do you need a set of 23 neo pads?
I assume that the octave key pads are too small.
That's right the Octave Key pads are sill standard pads, and they come with every Neo Pad set as well.
Do Neo pads come in a thinner thickness. I bought a set for a 1962 Selmer MKVI bari. They are too thick so keys hit at the back .
