    Do you think this could be used with various grits to prepare a car headlight assembly to be treated for age related yellowing. All the guys I see do it by hand or a slow electric drill, wash it, and coat it with some treatments to slow the yellowing of the lens. Thanks for your time. PS The top of the line Chief air hammer won me over when I could get nothing else to move a stuck rod in my wood chipper.

    I was impressed with this tool when I bought it worked very well. Then as I continued to use more frequently the safety lever started to bind up on the contact point. So, I returned it and now I'm looking for a replacement. I should have just yanked off that safety lever!!

      Hello there. Good comment. Yes probably just remove that safety, lever or vented I suppose.

      Hello. Thank you for your comment. Yes remove that safety switch or bend it. Probably a good idea. Please consider subscribing. It’s worked well for me with quite a bit of use. I think it’s pretty well-made pretty durable. Take care. - Joe.

    If you get the proper buffing wheels not sanding discs you probably could do a good job with those headlights. You would need a very fine grit house for that. Chief tools are pretty darn good. Consider subscribing. Thanks Joe

    Bend your #11 wrench at a 90°angle so that you can hold it firmly against the grinders head and don't have to struggle holding the wrench while turning the other

    Hi Doc, I would need that to run portable on a van operation. How small or big of a compressor would I need?

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Рік тому

      OK that’s a really great question. The size of the compressor you “need” is entirely based on what you expect out of this. If you’re just using it for a small touchup things, a small compressor work fine realizing that you have to wait for the compressor to recharge periodically. If you want it for continuous duty, you need a huge air compressor because this takes a lot of air.

    what kind of oil are you using to lubricate it? I bought this grinder but the instructions don't tell me what oil to purchase. Thanks

      @JosephHunstad  Рік тому

      Thank you for your question. It’s a good one. You can purchase air tool oil which is available at Walmart, Northern Tools, Harbor freight, Tractor supply, etc. or online Amazon. Just a couple drops for free you use. It will keep it lubricated and last for years. Thank you again consider subscribing. Take care, Joe.

    Could a wire wheel be attached to a angle grinder? Or should I use a normal one? I do have a 155psi compressor. I remove plastic and paper off of hard plastic surfaces on a daily basis, so I'm trying to switch from using cordless drills, and move to pneumatic tools instead.

      Hello Robert,
      Thank you for your question. I love pneumatic tools. They are robust and seemed to last forever and there's no battery change.
      Keep in mind, that this air tool runs best at 90 psi so you need an in-line pressure reducer from 155 or on your regulator after your air compressor reduce it down to 90.
      I would recommend a wire wheel for a regular grinder because you really can't use a large diameter on this device only 2 inches.
      I also be worried that if you get this to speed the wires from a wire wheel might go flying! Lookout! Thanks - Joe

      just a thought, if you're using a 4 1/2 inch diameter wire wheel you reaally need some control that's why a larger device such as a normal grinder, with a side handle, would be better I believe. Although this quarter inch angle grinder is great for what it does it's small and you really don't have control with it that you would need when using a larger diameter wire wheel.thanks - Joe

      @@JosephHunstad it's much like the system that's onboard ship, but I'm trying to convert it into a citizen type of tool, by using a lone air compressor using 155psi. It has to have both the continue use of a cordless drill, along with the strength of a air drill. So I'll either would have to build one from scratch or convert one. Wish me luck.

      Not that your asking but yes they make almost any type of attachment you can think of, I would stay away from wire wheels. There are wheel materials that are much safer and do a better job removing material. Check into Pferd CRD twist lock systems, which are quick change heads and Norton Abrasives have the same system. Literally hundreds of different heads.

      Thank you for your question. I'm away from my shop right now but I'lll get back with you on this. I think it is a quarter inch and I willl double check. Thanks Joe

    • @JosephHunstad
      @JosephHunstad  Рік тому

      So I checked the arbor it is a round arbor that it’s just slightly less than 1/4 inch. So I think it does take 1/4 inch round arbors.
