I have gone through so many Fuji Cameras ... sadly, I find all their rechargeable battery cameras do not last ... The Mini 90 was a fave until the battery wouldn't charge and then when I bought a replacement battery within a week the screen died ... The Mini EVO suffered the same thing, but died faster about two years and then the screen died!!! Amazingly the Lil Play is still chugging along ... every lower-end camera 9/10/11/12 & 40 died within 2 years more the cheap focus broke and are only selfie cameras ... my Mini 70, which uses a standard battery still rocks ... I m afraid to pull the trigger on the new 99 because it's rechargeable!!! I want a camera to last more than twice the warranty!!! I love the format, but have issues with the QC ... I believe they are marketed to kids who will lose interest in a few months!!! I do like the Lomo instax cameras, they have lasted years!!! I did kickstart the original Nons camera that does work well, but is chunky ... I also kickstarted both the original Jolly Look as well as the pinhole, they work but again are chunky!!! One of the coolest mini cameras I have is the Lomo LCA+ with an instax back!!! I find it frustrating that I can use a 50 year old Polaroid camera with no issues, but the current Fuji offerings don't hold up well!!! I guess I am just that old man raging at clouds!!!

Hey Chris, I'm thinking of buying an instant camera for a self portrait series i'm doing. Do you have a recommendation for an instant camera to take self portraits with? Probably looking for something that I can stand on a tripod and has a timer or remote feature.

Informative video. I bought an Instax mini 10 at a monthly camera show I used to help promote. It was $10. I did not know the mini 70 had modes. All mini instax cameras should have modes. You did not mention that the flash on the sharper image instax camera washes out your subject. I made a clear filter for it and tape it on the area around the flash so it tones down the intensity of the flash and less chance of wash out. It does work.
Would you be willing to do an episode covering which instant cameras do double exposures? I've seen you touch on a few randomly in some episodes. Thanks for all the indepth reviews! It's really been helping me learn more about my cameras!

Cool I like those camera's! I have a FujiFilm PR21 myself, which is the first Instax mini hybrid camera ever. It's from 1999 and was only sold in Japan.
The CR2 batteries are pretty weird and was skeptical about them due to how tricky they are to find. But since owning my Instax SQ 1, I've been using the same pair of batteries since last summer and shot couple hundred shots since.

Yeah they do last a while. But always frustrating when it does go dead and have to pay $10 per battery and they aren’t easily found
