fun fact: "the hand thing" that use at the beginning and end of choreography is them trying to catch the falling flowers. In the beginning, they fail to catch it but they finally catch it in the end. SO BEAUTIFUL.

Girl Minghao is my ult too😭 when I first saw this MV I teared up everytime he came on because he is so ethEREAL!!! His voice in his mid and lower register always gets me. He’s absolutely beautiful🥺💕

it is nuts that some of seventeen’s best title tracks are their jp releases. pledis was so smart to have svt release new songs as title tracks for japan instead of repurposing older songs(i would believe it if it was svts idea to do so, but credit still goes to pledis for letting them). nothing against groups that repurpose old songs, but i think having entirely new songs each time And having them be such a high quality really helped with their success in japan.
ugh i could wax poetics on how great fallin flower is. haru robinson has written most the lyrics for svts japanese tracks and he has done such a good job at maintaining the essence of woozi’s writing and not making them feel overly cheesy. like. yes, they’re singing about how they’re a flower falling into you and it’s super dramatic, but they sell it so well.
I do think it was part of pledis' plan, N'UEST also released new songs for the japanese market, and they were also really really good
@@l3lugu agree! that's probably one of the things i think pledis did/does well. i'm also sure nu'est were quite popular in japan too because i swear they did loads of jp promotions at one point in their career before svt became big and some members have become so good at japanese.
@@alera27funny you say that! nuest did so good in japan, pledis basically sent them there for years (iirc) without letting them come back to korea. there's a log of their harrowing experience there but it was truly horrifying stuff.
Japanese MV's are always visually perfect. it's very colorful and meaningful. I noticed that a lot not just with SEVENTEEN but other groups too.
I haven't been into Seventeen long but I think this is one of my favourite songs. THE visuals The 8's vocals, DK's pre-chorus, Jun's part where the flower opens and his vocals come in, Hoshi and The8's dancing, Vernon on the chorus, S Coups rap, Joshua, Boo and Jeonghan vocals The symbolism of the flower the choreography is the most beautiful thing ever even if I don't call names everyone killed it in their respective parts vocally and in dancing. I also just want to add that you don’t have to be sorry for anything, Caitlin ☺️ though you’re not a dance expert or anything, appreciating the dance is more than enough. love that you point out so many things in the choreo as well, that’s really what carats want to share with others, like how amazing Seventeen is when it comes to their music and dance. they are just everything aaaahhh
A good thing with seventeen is you always know woozi composes all the songs, like no question asked😂 And as an ancient carat, for me personally, all the mind boggling good songs are somehow in the b side or in the less promoted release. Falling flower is just one of many. Carat's cult favorite are rarely the title track or the main kr release. I do hope you can check all their albums one day on your own term but I will look forwad towards your journey with seventeen.

I am literally addicted to DK's and Jeonghan's part and i don't think i would ever recover. And Jun looked so damn alluring in this.
Hands down one of the best japanese songs by a kpop group. The visuals, instrumentals, vocals, the dancing????? Next level. I love seventeen so much
1. There's a video of Jun playing an arrangement of this song on the piano
2. There are actually different types of flowers incorporated in the choreography (Elliot New Village does a great analysis on this)
3. This song is a MASTERPIECE, and so are their other Japanese tracks!

You've just discovered Woozi's love for unique song structures lol, many of their other tracks slightly tweak the traditional pop song structure to play with our expectations and lead us on an emotional journey while listening to the song.

You are right about their hand movement. Hoshi mentioned that from the beginning to the one before the last, the hand movement ended as they miss catching a petal but in the last one, they finally catch a petal. Even the smallest detail has a meaning and this is one of the reson why they are my ult!

They released Fallin' Flower as a song to carats who they couldn't meet during the pandemic (this was their first cb during the lockdown). The song was also probably written while they were doing their world tour towards carats that they were wanting to meet...

Im not a dancer too so I can't explain this in more technical term. But in their dance everytime it's jeonghan's "watashi wa hana" part, the other 12 dances as if they are controlled by jeonghan's hand movement. I cant explain it well hehe but hope u get it. The first time I heard of this was in Produce 101 Japan and I had no idea who Seventeen is yet at that time but this song, as well as highlight (cause it was one of the songs the trainees needed to perform), made me a carat. Imagine when I finally saw the mv. I actually was also really shookt and I felt like I was going crazy cause it was too damn beautiful.

it's interesting that you have pointed out those expressions of wonwoo when he met jun and mentioned his face looks hopeful. Honestly, it does make sense because this was released during the initial phase of the pandemic. I remember Fallin' Flower being a comfort song during those times of chaos, confusion and involuntary detachment from the usual activities in your life. The song itself is beautiful, but it just became extra special. This was also the first MV after Cheol's hiatus.

MY FAVORITE TITLE TRACK (even though it's Japanese)! This is the song that made me REALLY start stanning SVT. I was a casual kpop listener and was getting into SVT more than any group I'd ever listened to before. Once I heard this one, it was over for me-- certified Carat. Favorite MV, favorite choreography (I'm a dancer and choreographer), aesthetically stunning, DK's part {screams hysterically}, and something about the bridge never fails to make me cry.
