The soundtrack in this show especially blew me away. They absolutely delivered us with bangers, after, bangers and half of the soundtrack is on my playlist because these songs are just fire🔥!
VivziePop really outdid herself. The soundtrack of the first season was just delivering bangers after bangers after bangers after bangers of songs and they’re all so good. I can’t wait for what Season 2 has in store.
Top 5 1. Poison 2 .The finale song 3. More than anything 4. It starts with sorry 5. Stayed Gone There have been great songs in this show each in in their way but these are my top 5 and will re-watch it anytime I like 😄
@@anbFUSION Just shows how Sir Pentious tried to rat on Charlie and the gang for Vox and convinced Vaggie and Angel Dust not to kill him for being a traitor
@@anbFUSION I also rank this one pretty highly. First of all, I just really like ballads with intertwining vocal melodies, so I'm a sucker for this kind of thing. Second, I really like how the song evolves. It starts out, of course, very ironically. The melody is saccharine-sweet, and you're invited to roll your eyes at Charlie's naive, Disney princess-style attitude. Sir Pentious is clearly just saying whatever he has to say in order to save his skin, and Charlie is of course completely credulous and seemingly oblivious. So the first part of the song is almost a straight satire of a goody two-shoes feelgood Disney number. Then at 8:45 Charlie sings, "but who hasn't been in his shoes?" and the song kind of shifts. The melody is just as schmaltzy and saccharine as before, but the instrumentation fills out. There's very serious countermelodies and harmonies all of a sudden, kind of like the musical is suddenly taking the song a little bit seriously. There's still that element of cheese and humor going on, but at the same time, there's a change in the emotional context and delivery. Charlie's basically implied that she knows full well that Sir Pentious is just saying "sorry" to escape retribution, and she doesn't care. She's been in his position. She's been afraid and outnumbered, too, and for this reason, she's willing to give him another chance even if he's only taking it because he's scared. This is kind of the foundation of Charlie's worldview: everyone deserves a second chance if they're willing to ask for it, even if they're only asking for the chance because they're out of other options. They're vulnerable, and Charlie's been vulnerable, too. She empathizes. Sir Pentious seems to pick up on Charlie's empathy, and his tone shifts from fake contrition to actual sentimentality. He realizes she's serious: she literally just wants him to start with the literal word, "sorry." She's not going to interrogate him, accuse him of having the wrong motives, or take advantage of his vulnerability. If he will reach out a hand for help, she will take it. She's not hiding a knife. She's not going to accuse him of hiding a knife. She's being sincere: she's really offering him real forgiveness. This is probably the first time Sir Pentious has been offered that after probably hundreds of years in Hell. He seems genuinely touched by Charlie's reckless act of kindness and empathy. (And by the way--her reckless act pays off! This moment actually *does* set Sir Pentious on a path of redemption that results in him being the *very first* sinner redeemed from Hell!) So then the song peaks, and this should logically be the silliest, dumbest part of the song. But it's not silly or dumb, anymore. The song becomes kind of a genuine ode to the beauty of reckless mercy and to the transformative power of offering someone hope just because they asked for it. And you realize something: the sentiment behind the song was never funny. The sentiment of the song, from the beginning, was mercy. Just mercy. You were rolling your eyes at mercy. What does it say about us that our first reaction to that is to roll our eyes at it? Is Charlie naive, or are we cynical? Anyway, I think the song succeeds in transitioning from gag-inducing to heartwarming, which is a pretty cool trick.
