- So, Downing Street officials are busy drafting a “media plan” to announce the eventual passing of Larry the cat. Larry, a much-loved fixture at Number 10, is often spotted lounging outside the door during major political moments and news broadcasts.
Now, at 17 years old, this ‘chief mouser’ is well into his twilight years, having already outlived the typical lifespan for a tabby. Government sources reveal that a press release and graphics are being prepared “for the sad day he goes.”
Larry, originally adopted from Battersea Cats Home, was brought to Downing Street by David Cameron as a pet for his children. Since then, he’s outlasted five prime ministers. The Cabinet Office website even has a biography for him, which notes: “Larry has been in residence since 15 February 2011, and he is the first cat at Number 10 to be officially titled Chief Mouser. Larry was recruited from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home for his mousing skills and has made a significant impact on the household.”
It goes on to say: “He’s captured the hearts of the Great British public and the press teams often stationed outside the front door. In return, the nation sends him gifts and treats daily.”

I was wondering how Larry is doing after hearing of those plans myself. I have been looking for updates. So please post more content about Larry at least once a week so we can see he is fine. I would not want to be the chief resident at No.10 when Larry eventually passes away from old age. That will probably lead to a very fast change of government. I have been worried that Larry maybe exiled into retirement for his global popularity (can we say - age discrimination). God bless and protect our beloved Larry.

Wow. I must say this "planning" is premature. With excellent care, Larry certainly has more years in him. Currently, I've a cat going on 21. Hang in there Larry.

Truly don't understand the complaints here. Of course he'll get an obit when he dies. All public figures have obituaries prewritten long before their death, knowing Larry will eventually get one is an honour. The Royals get death plans made decades in advance. Larry's getting a memorial service and plot in Westminster Abbey right? He certainly deserves a statue.

Larry looks better than many political leaders UK and otherwise. Probably many in government should be retired. If Larry goes, so should they. Kitty Justice for all kitties in the world. The world loves Larry. The.new PM should realize compared to Larry he is just a flash in the pan. My kitty, Cookie, sends her greetings to cousin Larry.

Sir Starmer won I suspose. Sir Stsrmer will get his. The people will see to that. Sir Starmer is not well liked. With him getting rid of precious Larry, the people will be angry.
