Mr.John!!! You saved me what would likely have cost me well over $1500 to get someone out here - which is always an issue - then be told how I needed a new system - the very very likely outcome. My unit is old old - it was old when I bought the house some 13 yrs ago - put a screw cap on the pump so I can prime it myself - and now I've found you! As a single disabled woman...I thank you!!! Fixed with a damn battery!
You and fellow commentators saved me. Thank you :-) it was a fuse in our case and this exact model that you showed - we have the same - comes with an extra fuse.
Thanks for your video. It gave me the confidence to replace the timer myself and saved a service call. Mine was exactly the same except it had one more wire for the "master valve".
On the second test where you checked the ohms of resistance, only two out of the four wires are showing about 55 ohms of resistance. I went to the area where the wires run to and re did the wiring there and no dice. I'm not sure if there is a broken wire in the ground or what it could be.
@@OmegaMan1986 I always had a problem with one of my zones where the water would run strong and then get weak. I found that problem and it was a common wire. The insulation was stripped off causing it to short out. I hope that helps. It may be a solenoid. Good luck!
Hi John, I have an ESP-6, at this point I do not want to fix it. I just want to disable it so how do I do that? Ideally, I would just turn the valves off and leave them off forever and just use of a surface sprinkler. I guess my question is how do I turn the valves off permanently? the fault keeps the valves on right now.
Hi Tim, you can just unplug it the valves need power at the solenoid to open the valve up. If you have reclaimed water you can shut it off at the meter.
Mr Fix it! I noticed the replacement unit was a different model - are there any concerns of compatibility one should ck if switching to this model from the original in the video? I too have the PR OFF code from a ESP-6TM and the Rain Bird website suggests the ESP-TM2 as a replacement. Is voltage the only concern for replacement models?
Hi wind blown, you will be fine. They all use the same low voltage to activate the solenoid. Just be sure that you have enough zones on your new timer. Thank you for watching.
@@WandaSeel Hi Wanda, it has been a long time. I am sure that you can take it to your local auto part store. They will be able to help you. I am sorry that I did not say the size of it in my video.
Hi Jim, The function of the battery is to keep the time and the set programming if the power goes out. The sprinkler should operate normally with a dead battery. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the video, Unplugging both the power and battery made it work. Coffee is top of the line:) I drink the strong Indian version. Kirkland dark roast from Costco aligns.
Inside the cover is where the spare fuse woukd be. On mine, the cover has stamped on it, 500ma. So, half amp. I replaced mine yesterday because fuse had blown. Then I watered the grass again...I went out to controller today to confirm I hadnt lost my settings, and it was reading PR OFF again. Using this video to tshoot further.
Hi , My controller, worked then just shut off . Transformer light is on and there is power to the controller but no reading in the LCD. Does this mean controller is shot and I should replace it. Thanks
Did you check the fuse. Un plug it and pull the battery to reset it. If that does not work I would say it is probably bad. Thanks for watching Arnie and good luck.

That is great and you kept the money in your own pocket. I love to hear stories like that. Thanks for watching.
Mr Fixit, it took more time than I imagined but I DID IT !!! My landscaper got made at me …. I saved $150.
Thank you.
Great job, what was the fix? Thanks for watching.
John wanted to let you know this was a perfect fix and very easy to do. Thanks so much for your excellent espertise.
Thanks Herbert, and thanks for the kind words.
Thank you John, you helped me to make a call and hassle.I am getting new one installing it
Glad I could help!

Great to hear!
Mine too - exact same model which made it seamless for me as a technologically disabled girl of 65!
Thank you! Exactly what I needed! I had a blown fuse. Fixed, up and running!
Excellent!

Hi Al Rea, I am glad you saved a service call. Thank you for watching.
Just had to take out the battery & put back in. Reset the system & back working again. Great video!
Thanks, I am glad it helped.
Turned out to be the fuse. Great step by step analysis. Problem solved, thank you.
Hi Harlan, I am glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
What size fuse

What size fuse do I replace it with

Does the little flat battery you pull out ever need to be replaced?

Good to know! I will have to try that coffee.
Good afternoon. How are you? What is the fuse size or what is the number. I can see the one on the board
I’m sorry. I did not look at the size.

Thanks for making this video.

I really don’t know.
I have the same controller, same problem. Since it is 20 years old, will replace it.
Thanks and good luck. sorry I missed your comment.
Thank you. I’m not techno in the least. I’m going to try to save the $150 my lawman wants to charge me and put this in myself. 👍🏾
You can do it! That is what I like to hear.
Thx so much!
No Problem.
WTH 🤦🏻♂️ why didn’t it fix the error code
What is your question.
I have a 8Si

Tom Leeman on UA-cam has a great video on that same error code. Good luck.
