The Saitek Pro Flight Yoke is a good unit for its price. However, in my opinion it has three main drawbacks: 1) The roll and pitch springs are too strong which makes it hard to perform smooth manoeuvres; 2) the yoke has a 90º move angle (should be 180º); and 3) Some units have a large dead center (fixable with a Leobodnar BU0836A controller although its pricy).
In this video we will try to sort drawback 1) by replacing the original spring mechanism with some rubber bands.
The end result is a much smoother experience. The pitch re-centers itself, and the roll offers some resistance. In real life if AP is not engaged the pilot should hold the yoke at all times, so in my opinion this mod improves the realism.

Thanks for this. I did it a little differently. My roll controls are good enough but my elevator controls were terrible. I didn’t use the rubber bands. I just took the first of the two elevator springs off and just doing that gave it a pretty nice response. I would suggest people start with that and then proceed with your method as needed. Obviously there is going to be some manufacturing variances and it will have to be tweaked differently for each person.
I agree, I tried your suggestion first but it wasn't enough for me so I'm going to do the rubber mod.

It is impossible to reassemble the bottom.
I do not understand. Have any of you had any problems reassembling the bottom? The 4 screws that hold the rubber bands in place prevent the assembly. So I didn't succeed.
I removed the exterior screw mounting brackets (with the large base) so I had to 3d print another pair lol
how thick are the rubber bands?
Just change the springs! :-)
My yoke doesn't have horns so Im not sure what to do.
Hello, What grease/Lube did you use to oil your yoke?
There's a lot of excess grease in the flight yoke, you should be good to just use that.

Not sure. I think i’ve seen some vids arround but it needs some proper moding with dremel tool etc
