Mountain Hares finally protected in Scotland 2020

2020 saw the Scottish Parliament finally protect Mountain Hares. In the past Scottish gamekeepers blamed the hare's ticks for spreading Louping Ill which reduced grouse to shoot for sport.
We must still beware that licences are not freely given to shooting interests!
