Thanks for the video review of the cook set! Great to see a review where the reviewer is not just boiling water, but actually cooking something so we can make a better and more accurate decision in purchasing the cook set! Can't go wrong cooking chili when on a camping/hiking trip! Safe camping to you!
Mine just came in from Amazon. The size and stability were the two major selling points for me. Watching him make that chili helped me realize you can easily feed four grown men using the large pot. Moreover, I have a 2.5L water bladder, if I were in an extreme situation where time is critical or I only have enough fuel for one burn and I need to refill my bladder, this large pot can almost top me off in one burn.
Yeah man is very stable! I was looking at the ALOCS CW-CO5 but it doesn't actually block the wind well, and to stir the pot you have to use the pot holder
Greetings from the UK! That is a fine meal my mate! I own the Trangia 25-1 Hard Anodised (Frying pan, both pots and both windscreens). I couldn't imagine life without it, however, I rather like your Esbit Cookset - a handsome bit of gear that seems to perform aswell as the Trangia sets (I may buy an Esbit aswell). I've began to salivate just watching you cook your Chilli Con Carne with venison! I will have to try venison as opposed to minced beef next time I cook a Chilli. Venison.....the food of kings! Anyway, thank you for your demonstration and you've just earned a subscriber. Chris (UK)
When you've lived through dropping your breakfast 3 times, and then you settle for hard boiled eggs, this little set is welcomed relief. I like the idea of stability. I'm talkin about spending the night on the side of a mountain in rough terrain. I did it, and well it was frustrating, and I know I used some choice words and even sweated a little in mid 30's temperatures. I guess I could have rolled down the mountain a couple of times, too. After that week in the mountains, I ran out and bought this little jewel. And I'm as happy as a Lark. Thanks for showin it off. ATB, Jb.
Great Review, thanks for that. Helped me a lot to make a buying decision. I'm impressed by the performance of the Cookset and that you actually made Chilli with it.
Thankf for the video! good to see it in someone's hands, so I can get a real idea of it's size. As suspected it is unwieldly large for one person, maybe even too big for 2. Perfect for base camp setup, or a Van/car/motorcycle touring kit.
Save me some. Man, that is an all around cook set. Was impressed with it. It would be great for a long camping trip. Thats all the cook set you would need. Great video. Thanks. Ronnie,Texas
Lol, I use the Stanley Flask for my fuel also. They even have a smaller one now. They work great and you don't have to worry about them leaking like the cheap ones. I lived off that "Cowboy Hash" when I was in college. I add rice Nice stove never used one, but have seen them a lot out here and I see them get good reviews.
Been wanting one of these. Good demo showing that I might want two. That fuel reload while freshly hot? I'm uneasy. a cold-second stove might allow me to perform similarly with my own fears as waged - then, cook coffee!!!
Great video I've got the Trangia identical and i always carry it no matter what as it is so reliable and carry a trangia mini as a backup just in case which i believe esbit do also..
Awesome review, looks like it would be great for a family camping. Great idea with the flask. I would put PGA in the flask just in case someone decided to take a drink.
Thanks for great presentation, have you using it some longer? What are your experiences with cooking and eating from an aluminium dishes? Have you comparing it to Trangia cookset maybe? Thanks 👍🏼
Great review as always Ben , that is a nice and complete cook kit for just about anything you want to make ! that looks like some good camp cooked chili nice and hearty ! thanks for sharing atb john
Finally found your clip on the stove. Is it possible to burn the fire pelts in this stove. It appears to be a very stable cook stove. What is clean-up like? Al. A
Ive seen this cookset several times before but this is the first video Ive watched. Im surprised how large it is. If anything, that would be a detracting factor for camping and hiking... at least to me.
My only gripe is your ingredient proportions. My recommendation is to put a teaspoon of beer in at first and then when the burner runs out of fuel add a second teaspoon. That way you will have time to drink the rest of the first beer and give you an excuse to pop open the second one while you wait for the chili to finish. All kidding aside, thanks for the video as I might add this cook kit to my chuck box.
check out some of the videos by "waw hiker" he's got some really cool alcohol stove cooking vids. there's this mod that has an external tank for the esbit stove which is super rad too. extended runtime.. wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhht? :)

Yeap! Refreshing to have someone do actual
Can't go wrong with curry either 😋

Jb Bennett thanks for the input.
So... I wouldn't be crazy to buy it for solo camping purposes?
Looks similar to the GSI Dualist except the GSI doesn't come with the cook stove. The heat sink is a great feature too. Thanks for sharing
I think the heat sink makes the difference.
🤠
I think the base part is redundant why not set the burner on the ground use the windbreak/pot holder
glad to see this video
Great Review, thanks for that. Helped me a lot to make a buying decision. I'm impressed by the performance of the Cookset and that you actually made Chilli with it.
Great video. I would have never thought that this many btu's exist in the small burners. 1 refill is amazing.
I thought so too!
Thankf for the video! good to see it in someone's hands, so I can get a real idea of it's size.

snazzy little cook kit there, and that's a great idea with the flask for holding the extra alcohol.
Ibpn When I saw it I knew it would work great. Thanks for the comment.
Thats awesome that the little alcohol burner got that much food to boil. Very nice
The Daily Shooter I agree. Had my doubts.
I'd love the complete recipe for that chili, it looks darn good. Enjoyed the video, thanks for posting. (i LOVE that flask!)
Save me some. Man, that is an all around cook set. Was impressed with it. It would be great for a long camping trip. Thats all the cook set you would need. Great video. Thanks. Ronnie,Texas
RDM1978 I agree, perfect for that for sure.
I really like that cook set! That looked like it worked out really well. Man that chili looked awesome, now I'm hungry lol. Thanks for sharing.
metaltrooper62 It did work out pretty dang well for a small alcohol burner. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Great video. And what a cool setup from Esbit. That chili looked really good. I'll have to try adding beer to it myself next time.
Nova Hiker If you look at my 180 tack stove video I made it again and I think I added more to it.
Esbit makes great cooksets! Thanks for the review Ben, Cheers, Marc
Scouting Free Yes they do, thanks Marc.

Deep South Experience just another option. i prefer the bio stoves and don't typically carry alcohol.
+Deep South Experience you should try diced potatoes, it's really good!
One sweet set up!
guns4funcajanajustin It worked out well.
sweet, that thing seems to work awesome! thanks for the video

yeah probably not a good idea :)
So hungry right now. Great cookset. Real food outdoors!
Thank you 😋

Amazing how prolific you are on your videos. All good stuff.
The Pocket Shot TY TY

looks like a great setup, ty for the review and sharing
ben terwellen Thanks for watching and the comment.
Looks good, worth cheking out.
Optionsaregood For larger meals for sure.
Looked like a great set. Shame you didn't show how the fry pan surport works.
You know, you can use a butane burner, or a multifuel burner with an adapter, with your Esbit.
Very good video and that looks like a great system.
Very efficient system.
Great video / Cheers from Germany
Great review as always Ben , that is a nice and complete cook kit for just about anything you want to make ! that looks like some good camp cooked chili nice and hearty ! thanks for sharing
atb john
the mi woodsman Yep, had to use up some venison to make room for more.
i wish i had that problem LOL

David Mm Right, best suited for car camping or larger groups.
great video, great stove, great meal
brought one from this review it's awsome
Awesome cook set. Great video.
lonewolf prepper Thanks for stopping by and the comment!
What is better for use - dry or liquid alcohol?
chili looks awsome lol.. second stove seems very sturdy, I like that.. but I would like if it was a wood stove, anyway wood can be used?
+Nick M Not in this one. A 180tack stove has a large surface to use large pots and works great.
Also, I forgot to mention... Trangia makes different sized fuel bottles... .3L to 1L in size...
Great cook set , good weather for chili is moving in on us
***** Yes sir and have to use up the reset of last year's venison to make room for more.
firearm in 2 wks....
that looks lovely nice one mate
thanks.
I ordered mine today through your link to amazon! How is the non stick finish holding up for you? Thanks!
+Slain Liberty thanks!

That's cool as hell! Great video dude! I'll have to give it an 8 out of 10 for lack of beautiful women though! LMAO!!!

Scott Stauffer haha, good point.
$73.47....sounds high. I clearly don't know what things should cost but for that price I would want a fork or two....great video tho
What kind of spices did you use?
The chilli did it ill subscribe!
Wyoming Slabjacking LOL thanks!
Good vid, interesting and informative, Thanks for the work U do, God Bless U & Urs :)
Larry Overton Sr. My pleasure, thank you for the comment.
Trangia kit better Esbit?
Алексей Лёха The same.
Great! Now I'm hungry!
Now I'm hungry for some chili! Thanks! Lol
Jon Z No problem! LOL.
At 5:02 your phone is running out of power. Yeah I am a troll but also do not own a smart phone.
***** LOL, yep/
the only downside to this setup is if you like in California. There are tons of counties that it is illegal to use Alcohol stoves.
Automatic No Static Not even with an alcohol stove?
Living Survival nope. Alcohol stoves are banned in most of California due to past wild fires being set from them.
Dry alcohol is also banned?
California .. will them be avoided.
im starving nice review
Thanks for watching.
Sorry dude, but this meal... is for one person? 😅
Alternative zum Trangia
Great now I want chile. lol
check out some of the videos by "waw hiker" he's got some really cool alcohol stove cooking vids. there's this mod that has an external tank for the esbit stove which is super rad too.
