Here’s the backstory. MTV came to Jay-Z with an idea to do a mash-up show with various rappers and rock bands. They asked him to do the first episode and what band he wanted to work with. He said Linkin Park. MTV didn’t know that Mike Shinoda had been making mash-ups since middle school. Instead of saying yes we’ll do it, he sent back three mash-ups of Linkin Park and Jay-Z songs. It was supposed to be one episode about making one song. But they ended up making a whole EP, did a whole live show and won a Grammy. There was never another episode of MTV Mash-Ups, because who could ever live up to that?
Wow!
@@MichelleShow that guy who looks like Eminem is Chester Bennington.
Oh damn, I knew it was fire but I didn't know it got a Grammy.
Yeah this whole collaboration had us all ready to break a window when it premiered lol
@@MichelleShow Also this was a surprise concert. The crowd did not know Jay-Z would be there.
“i don’t know who they are, let’s just say i’m here for Jay-Z”
bruuuuhhhhhhhh you in for a treat.
How tfk someone don't know LP? I can't believe If this guy are being serious lol
@@Shurororu yea where I’m from it’s strictly street music. but I do like them so far!
Facts
Your Eminem look alike is none other than Chester Bennington. He was the singer/screamer for Linkin Park. They are my absolute favorite rock band. Take a trip down that rabbit hole. I promise you, you will love it
Will do I like what I hear so far
Definitely go down the Linkin Park rabbit hole. You won't regret it
Sorry this is late, but Mike wasn't the screamer. That was all Chester.
Edited because I have no grammar.
Not to mention chester was one of the best vocalist, lyricist all around best musicians Also a wonderful person, idol, father, friend and husband
8:25 if they video when Chester finishes and Jay gives him this “well damn didn’t know you could do it like THAT. That was lit” look after the screaming. Cracks me up to this day.
Man, Jay's face at the end after Chester ends it kills me every time lol.
Me too. RIP Chester.
Mike Shinoda is a musical genius!
He can rap, sing, write, produce etc. Collision Course would have never happened if it had not been for him.
He mashed up all the songs.
Nothing but respect!
And of course I have to end this comment with RIP Chester❤️
Can also play the piano and I think the guitar.
Linkin Park - In The End, Numb, A Place For My Head, Faint🤟
This whole mash up album they did “collision course” was straight fire man. Still have the CD/live show DVD combo at home. One of my favourite albums period mashup or not
Bro Linkin Park are amazing, one of my favourite bands ever. Chester's voice is amazing, Mike can rap really well. They hsve Rap and Rock in their music. They have songs with Busta and Rakim as well as Jay-Z. You should definitely check them out
Dam never knew this but I will do more soon!
This is the best mashup album of all time.
Jay-Z - legendary
Linkin Park - legendary
When legends meet, and make beautiful music together. It’s just magical.
Jay fell in love with everything about this band and it’s fans that night.
Literally listen to the whole ass album Jay did with Linkin Park. Every track smacks.
#RIPChester
Glad you are getting into some linkin park. One of my favorite bands.
RIP Chester.
When you said “what does linkin park have to do with this” my first thought was everything hahaha linkin park is a rap
ock band they Goated and golden bro
The smile and the joy of surprise on your face when Chester took his hook there at the end 👌
You was 99 millimeters away from having them dreads going full swang! I see you, you starting to catch it!
😂😂😂
Eminem, shit that guy is Chester MDF!!
🤣🤣
I loved both Jay-Z and LP, so when the original mashup episode was shown, it was GOLD. The fact that they continued collaborating and making such amazing music was, in my eyes, so important. Jay-Z has done performances in memorial of Chester since his passing. I think they respected each other.
This entire album was amazing JZLP. It was a mash-up album and just blew everyone away who was paying attention.
"The song just started, and they already about to tear the building down."
Hahaha. Hold on to your seat because it's about to take off.
"A place for my head" if you want to keep on doing some Linkin Park. Otherwise just pick from the first two albums(Hybrid Theory and Meteora) for starters ;)
Got u
@@MichelleShow And say hi to your new friend Zach from me!
Linkin Park has been my favorite band since they first came out. Pretty much the biggest band in the world. They broke genre when they combined rock and rap together. They may have not been the first but they were the best. Mike Shinoda is the "Rapper". He also sings, plays many instruments. Writes and produces most of their music. Mike also has another band Fort Minor that is primarily Rap. He is very underrated as a rapper. Chester Bennington is the lead singer, he sings like an angel and screams like the devil. He is a legend. The rest of the band are Rob (Deums), Phoenix (Bass) Brad (Lead Guitar) Joe Hahn (Dj and does most of their videos). They are so talented. How the song came about: Mtv wanted Jay-z to do a collaboration song, they asked him he he wanted to do it with, he said Linkin Park. So they asked Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda said let's take it further and do an album. That is Collision Course. Mike and Jay-z put it together. It's awesome!
Here are some songs to check out.
Papercut
In The End
Numb
Place for my Head
Points of Authority
From the Inside
Faint
One Step Closer
I could go on, but that's enough for now. Lol
RIP Chester. Miss you❤
Will be doin more linkin park asap
I am pretty sure RATM took that title of rap/rock way before Linken Park and several others did so as well. HED PE is a great example as well. If you are talking Mainstream/MTV then I see where you would think this is true. Love LP, but only having 2 great albums doesn't do it for me. Just my opinion.
RIP Chester ❤️
You need to watch that whole set man... classic
Linkin park Faint live at rock am is top tier!
Up Next: Press - Up , Up , Down , Down , Select, Start to unlock this secret character.....
Man it is cool to see you expanding your horizons! Check out Twenty One Pilots- "Fairly Local" and "Car Radio", and Falling in Reverse- "Popular Monster". You will be pleasantly surprised, my guy! Have I failed you yet......
Thanks for doing this man I knew you'd eventually cave if I kept bugging ya about it😎🤘
More of linkin park plz, you'll definitely love them
@@rockyhaggard8179 He will love some Twenty One Pilots. I started with Car Radio and Stressed out. Was immediately hooked.
Aint nothing like a metal crowd
They have a whole collaboration mix tape
I remember when this was on Mtv damn that was a good time!!!!!
Jigga what/ faint is the best off that album. The way jay had to pick up the flow to keep up with the beat makes the verses better imo
Dirt of your shoulders is my favorite
This whole album was pure genius. Fans from either side loved it. I know I did. ❤️
I agree..
Completely agreee 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Rip Chester🙏🏼🙏🏼 Very talented man
This album is 🔥! Much ❤
LMAO Lil Dicky is killing it on the guitar
Love your reactions!!
Your right "Goat"
Linkin Park is a Rap / Rock group
That’s why the collab worked so well! 💯
Dude I love this reaction, thank you MichelleShow
Collision course! Absolute favorite cross genre collaboration.
Linkin park points of authority live in Texas, great energy
Yeah you got a lot to learn. Lol. Great video!
Linkin Park and Jay-Z are equals in their respective genres.
These two did an entire album of collaboration remixes.
after that last scream Jay gave em the stankface like DAMN son xD
2:10 Bro thats the great MIKE SHINODA of Linkin Park.
He Raps in all their songs. He's a rapper , singer, songwriter, Producer , instrumentalist etc. He has a side Rap project called FORT MINOR.
He's one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen.
He's the Minds behind this Collab (actual mixing of the songs)
Underrated IMO.
Cool reaction. Liked. RIP Chester
I literally watched this for your facial expressions. I’m glad you’re surprised. The metal community was also. But not so much. Keep on keepin’ on, my friend.
Oh, and Chester…
He was there for a reason. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
You need to do the WHOLE CONCERT! Worth the hour of your life TRUST ME!
LOL LIL DICKIE ON GUITAR HOLY SHIT LMAO
Actually true. That's Brad Delson - Guitarist for Linkin Park
You got a lot of catching up to do brother.. That's a great thing about reacting you'll be introduced to some good s*** that you never knew about
Exactly
Thanks for finally doing this bro. I knew if I kept bugging ya about it you would cave and do it. If I think of some more stuff that's lit and live like this I'll send it to ya✊✊
U just changed the michelleshow forever I’m bout to be doin a lot of linkin park!
One of my fav live performances of all time, this and Rage Against the Machine 2010 at finsbury park
Love this one
This whole EP is 🔥🔥🔥
“Lil Dicky on the guitar” just took me out 😂😂😂
I love LP for being so diverse. Loved the Hybrid theory album then and now. This mashup was brilliant. So surprised and elated that it won a grammy
The background music used for the song 99 Problems is Points Of Authority, and then One Step Closer.
If you like the rap/rock mixes, I definitely recommend the bands Rage Against The Machine, P.O.D.(esoecially their Satellite album), Limp Bizkit, and Fort Minor, which is Mike Shinoda's band. I definitely recommend the songs Red To Black and Kenji, which tells of Mike's family experiences during WWII.
I also recommend watching Jay-Z's tribute to Chester. It's beautiful.
Glad to see you react to Linkin Park, will look to see if you have more LP reactions
I love your song your reaction and your scanner darkly silhouette
This is seriously the like 5th or 6th time watching this 😊❤️❤️❤️
10/10🔥legendary
Kendrick and imagine dragons radioactive live is dope
Great review
It’s nice to see when people address Brad🔥🔥
He is lit!
How come I never saw this?? I heard "Numb" and some other song, but this is sooo fire!! DAMN, this is good. It don't get much better than this imo. Peace
Rip Chester Bennington
awesme, please check out more from this collab, namely Numb/Encore, Jigga What/Faint and Dirt off your shoulder/Lying from you. theyre all fire :))
plus you could check out the making of collision course, where you can see them working together in the studio, wich is very inspiring.
They have another song together that was so good live! Numb/Encore. It’ll give you chills!
"We got Lil Dickie on the guitar" fuggin killed me 🤣
The whole album is so good. Soooo good.
Rest In Heaven Chester
I came for Linkin Park. 🤘🏽
Rip RESPECT
Linkin park is rockrap.... amongst other things
ROLLIN
Jay Z's face at the end of Chester's scream is the best! Linkin Park is one of the best concerts I've ever been to! I'm hitting subscribe now. You MUST dive into Linkin Park, they don't have any bad songs!
Mike Shinoda is the MC for Linkin Park, very musically talented and highly underrated vocally. Linkin Park brought the rap and rock together, along with turntables and a “DJ” aka Joseph Han... dude Linkin Park was transcending this scene... you should dive into their catalog RIP CHESTER (lead vocalist for LP, he’s the skinny white boy) voice like an Angel, scream like a devil, this collaboration was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Points of Authority and One Step Closer are the Linkin Park songs... the beats the guitars, and then the vocals after Jay throws down his vocals are what makes this great. They integrated their music to flow together... go listen to Points of Authority and One Step Closer by LP and then come back to hear this... it will make much more sense to you I promise
nice havent seen these two in years.
Welcome to the Linkin Park rabbit hole. Recommend Papercut and Faint if you want a taste of their rap game.
You should react more Linkin park. The band does both rap and Rock in their songs. I recommend for you Linkin park - Faint. Love your reactions. Keep up
Will do
Linkin Park - By Myself (Live in Texas)
This collaboration was brought together by *MTV's Collision Course Linkin Park vs Jay-Z* you should check out the making of the album & this concert *Live at the Roxy* it's less than 20mins
They did a tour together, that's all, at the time Linkin Park was really popping at this time and Jay-Z was or did drop his album so they went on tour together,, it was some of the greatest shows ever man!
Fort Minor is the Linkin Park MC.......several gr8 songs with his group.....u would recognize cuz MGK recorded over many of their instrumentals
Ok, so there it is! If you really want to know about linkin park. You gotta listen they're two first album wich is hybrid theory and meteora. I also advice live : live in texas or rock am ring 2004. That's the real linkin park. They did few good album after these two but it's kind softer and mainstream. You should listen papercut, from the inside, numb, point of authority,
a place for my head etc.. Enjoy!
Ps : chester bennington the main singer committed suicide in 2017. He's a legend forever! Period
Dam that’s crazy I gotta definitely do more from them tho
It wasn’t mtv, linkin park calab’d with jayz back in I think 2003. It was called collision course. They did a whole dvd, yes I said dvd cause I had it. They mashed up there songs with jay
It's just a collaboration EP album/with both of their songs Incorporated into single songs. Just for fun and a very few live performances. Way ahead of it's time. They took a chance. BTW: not lil Dickie. Lol
Linkin park was one of the best bands until Chester Bennington died a few years back. You have to listen to some of their music
Will do
Linkin Park is like a new millenia fusion. Their work has different periods of style but fuses hip-hop, metal, synth... whatever, beats sound great. Mike Shinoda is more of the rapper. Chester Bennington is usually the hook on vicals.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one that thought he looked like Lil' Dicky. 😂
1 of the best things MTV ever did was putting these 2 together. Look up the tribute Jay-Z did when Chester died. Remember this music brings people together
RIP Chester Bennington Lead screamer. A beautiful soul!
This was from an MTV mash up record between Jay-Z and Linkin Park. I would love for you to react to the song Numb/Encore that they did together.
Will do
It’s difficult to describe how hyped linkin park was back in these days….. that’s why the crowd is on one lmao
All the mashups they did in that show were 🔥.
You'd dig Linkin Park. Right behind Rage Against the Machine and Beastie Boys, they're the top band who has crossed over between rock and rap. They've got a ton of fire tracks for you to look into.
I’m excited to hear more
Linken park 👏👏👏👏👏
All songs on this album are hybrids
You you should check out Linkin Park for real. Since you appreciate hip-hop I would recommend their songs High Voltage and Lying From You. They mix Rap and Rock better than anyone ever has imo.
Renegade - LIVE - Jay Z and Eminem
I believe it was on a 2010 David Letterman show, so it’s edited, but both Em and Jay are on one!
You should start reacting to linkin park brother. I have a feeling that you gonna like em.
Oh I will asap
LINKIN PARK...THE BEST BAND.......FOR EVER.........THEY WILL BE ETERNAL....
I really recommend LL Cool J’s Unplugged session of “Mama Said Knock You Out”. James gets crazy with a band backing him up!
ua-cam.com/video/f2eiCVzPiCg/v-deo.html
Got u
I would also like to just throw out there that we used to interrogate people in their sleep with anesthesia in the early 80s.......
imagine the technology and stuff that we have now... ....
Not to mention if they really can't get you with evidence on things that you have admitted to under anesthesia they would just hire someone to hack your computerized car
that is a linkin park concert, the crowds are nuts.
FAINT... LINKIN PARK
lil dicky on the guitar lMFAOOOO im fucking dying
