  • We continue our way west across the northern coast of Sicily as we head to the beautiful Egadi Islands. In this episode, we explore the town of Termini Imerese and stop at Palermo for much-needed repairs.

Hi, Pete & Chris watching from rural Manawatu. Fabulous videos, great editing. Your journey is one big show, just great. Marina life looks interesting...a bit different to our boating on Lake Taupo! Sail safe. You may have answered this but I would be interested in the make and model of your intercom sets. They appear to work very well. All the best.

Hi Pete and Chris. So glad you’re enjoying the videos. I grew up in Palmerston North so I have fond memories of the Manawatu and have a lot of family in that area. The headsets are by Sena, model SPH10. We had to replace one this year but we love them.

Thanks Richard. We moved from Auckland to Palmerston North where we lived for 16 years (aviation career) and have recently retired to a couple of acres at Aorangi just out of Feilding. We have lived in Melbourne and the US so have been lucky to travel. As I look out on our frost covered lawn I think of your adventure in more sunny climes. I hope you avoided the storms that had such a tragic outcome for some. Thanks for the intercom info. All the best. Pete

Thanks Pete, we have certainly been tracking the weather closely. We are making a dash over the next three days to get into a safe anchorage for the next lot of bad weather to come through. It's the storms that are the real problem and they are not on the normal forecast so we track something called the CAPE index to try and stay out of harms way.
