Hi My name is Pat I enjoy watching your videos I'm from Gozo and i live in Melbourne i see you were in Gozo you have to go and visit the inland sea in Dwejra you can anchor helios in the port behind fungus Rock it's a large natural port and take the little boat towards the cave it takes you about 10 minutes to the cave from the port then you can enter towards the inland sea you have to make sure that you are clear because only one boat can enter at one time enjoy Thanks for your videos
Hi Pat, thank you for you comment. We really want to go to Dwejra and the hidden harbour. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to get there on this visit, the winds in spring are quire strong. Hopefully when we are back there in autum we can get to Dwejra and see a bit more of Gozo. Regards Richard and Jude
Hello there, Aussie & Kiwi fellow sailors! We just saw this video and we happen to be in Malta too. We also live aboard a sailboat (lagoon 450 called ‘Kame’) and have been following your channel because we are doing a similar route. Would be lovely to meet with you guys if possible! We are anchored in Birzebbuga, on the south. Busses # 80 & 82 will take us to Valletta in no time. Vero & Diego here. Let us know if you’d like to meet, here or there. Not sure how to do a private message to exchange numbers and communicate but we could figure that out… Best regards and always TY for sharing your wonderful videos! 🙏🏻👌🏻
Hi, thank you for reaching out to us. I believe that Jude has PM'ed you through Facebook. Thanks for watching and hopefully we can meet up. Regards Richard and Jude
Great video. I enjoyed it a lot. Can I ask a question? At the end you were picking up a mooring line from the yellow drum but what were you doing at the stern? I am very interested in the different types of moorings in the Med.
Thank you. At the stern there was a line from the drum with floats on it. We picked this up pretty easy on the way in. We tied a line to it so we could motor forward to get the bow line. In the first two attemps our line wasn't quite long enough and be cause the stern was only on the port side it was turning us to port when it got tight. Once we got the bow on we could bring the stern line on to the aft cleat and take off the extra line. I not sure if I would consider these as standard moorings as they have been set up for the commercial boats and we just have to make do when they are not using them.
Nice to see you sailing again guys. Enjoy.
Thank you. Its nice to be back out on the water and we have a lot of sailing coming up on our way to Greece
