All that iconic Chanel universe that I had received for years watching their shows had moved me to a disturbing boredom collection after collection in the post-2020 shows. Today, when viewing this collection, perception returns as a kaleidoscope of art and majesty. Each of the looks has the DNA of the iconic fashion house, however, the asymmetries, the rebellious silhouettes that frame another femininity and the use of new textures have fascinated me. An excellent sample of post-pandemic design that leaves me amazed.
The collection was displayed through the magic of Black and White, Soul, Funk and Into Colour. You captured shapes, textures and the feels of Channel, very beautifully. You can't hear me or see me, but, I am standing and clapping!

The "black&white-to-color" transitions were like............when Dorothy heads out of her house after the tornado blew her into the land of Oz!!! You try to take in the outfit in black&white first.......and then when you see it in color, you're like BLOWN away! And with the sparkly (like stars!) black background of the club, it made it feel so luxurious and rich - it truly stands out! FAB!
This is, still, my favorite collection by Virginie. So sad to see that she was just scratching the surface at Chanel before her departure from the label. I love everything about this show, the looks the soundtrack- the casting, all of it. Love, love, love. Just perfect. What a time during the pandemic, to be triumphant and uplifting with fashion.
COAT CHECK! (literally) Totally checking out this runway for the outerwear. I really like the videography that was done to replace the old standard runway. I rather the whole video been in color but I guess this was an effect for drama. Look like the models had fun and you can depend on Chanel to bring zip up their classic pieces but stay true to the over all vibe that Chanel built their house on. There's a lot of the 80s in this collection, a trend that will most likely end in two years. One of the many things that this last year has taught us is that fashion should overcome these "fast trends" which after a few months are destined to die. There are a lot of items designed by Coco Chanel herself that are still relevant today. The Chanel style should be a pillar, a classic that never dies and therefore eco-sustainable. My comment is not intended to "insult" Virginie Viard's work and I understand her style but I think her best collection was "Spring summer 2020 ready to wear" and in my opinion it was the right way to follow: simple but not trivial, rigorous but not kitsch and then garments that bypass trends.
