I had an agency reach back out to me. Theres a monthly fee toward training development and an upcoming expo. Lots of people are saying don’t join an agency that asks for money but that’s the only agency near me really.
EVERY SINGLE reputable agency will tell you it’s not a good idea to have to pay an agency to help get started in modeling. It’s fine to pay coaches, photographers , stylists outside of the agency to add to your growth… but the agency themselves if they truly believe in you they won’t charge you to give you advice. they usually only do that when they don’t make enough money with clients and it’s a way for them to make more off the model. Don’t say you haven’t been warned lol but the decision is still yours. I teach these things in depth inside my 1:1 coaching and I obviously share some of this on my UA-cam
Hi! I have an offer to sign with an agency and in the contract it does state that there is a $100 fee for digital expenses of setting up/maintaining my portfolio and comp card. While I’ve heard that agencies charging can be a scam, I’ve also heard that models have to expect to pay money towards some things because of the work being put in (such as paying the photographers). Now, I’ve been researching a lot and I’m really not sure what to do because there are a lot of models signed with them that I’ve looked into on Instagram and they seem to have a lot of incredible opportunities offered to them from this agency. I’m very conflicted, and I’m trying to figure out what to do. Do you think that this is normal or what do you suggest I do? They also say in the statement that it is the only fee they’ll ask us to pay. I am seeking advice as I’m not sure what to do.
If you want to be a professional model you can apply directly to modeling agency websites for them to give you a modeling contract. They will be the ones that send you to castings. Models.con has agency names. You can also search for casting companies on IG that sometimes list opportunities
This helped loads thank you
