Yes..recently listened the rendition of the legend Chembai. Certainly an epic song....Nidhi Chala Sukhama...which will remain as ever-green as long as music world exists! GNB too in vigorous, vibrant and resonant tone Pranams to the great soul..GNB too ...like classically marked his signature in his rendering, from Anupallavi onwards by short phrases of brief vinyasam..thereafter swaroms with weavings of all possible permutations linking the notation and presented a balanced blend of rhythm and melody, neither should dominate to the detriment of the other! Cutcheries of Stalwarts like Ariyakkudi, Chemmai n GNB has given lessons to next generations for maintaining Layam; Both rhythm and tempo to be created by the even measured flow of the uniform duration of Kala(time). This perception of time decides the result of the cutchery!!!.....
Best kalyani sung in carnatic music..with all the right carnatic phrases and gamakas.. who can we expect such Himalayan artistry from other than GNB Lalgudi PR combination
