- Inspired by Joriah Kwamé's 'Little Miss Perfect' and 'Ordinary'.
Luz and Amity have clear feelings for each other, which represents a lot of things: while Luz seeks acceptance in a place as strange and outlandish as she is, Amity wishes to reclaim her childhood while she still has the chance. These two fantasies are very possible, but when reality hits that Luz must inevitably go home and Amity can’t let down the great expectations placed upon her, it may just be for the best they stay friends.

Finally I get to contribute to the Owl House fandom! ;w;
This is probably one of my favorite shows to watch of recent memory, and Joriah Kwame's songs Little Miss Perfect and Ordinary truly inspired me to have my go at a duet between Luz and Amity.
Besides, I need something to do while waiting for Season 2 details to drop :')

I really feel like this song perfectly completes the holy trinity of lumity songs. We have Little Miss Perfect from Amity's POV, we have Ordinary from Luz's POV, and now we have Just Friends as a duet between the two of them that includes references to both of their solo songs. It's perfect and I love it.

"I'm miles away yet feel right at home." I think that fits Luz to a T. Back on earth, she was always treated as a freak by everyone around her. She always felt like she has to hide her true self so people would like her. But in the Demon Realm, Luz is accepted and has more of a home their than she ever would in the human world.

For some reason, it’s a bit bitter sweet, it’s likely Luz might not stay on the Boiling Isles forever and will eventually have to go back home in the human realm with her mother. I get misty eyed just thinking about it. And I love how the song is from both points of views from Luz and amity. With Luz wanting to be who she is and be in a place where people will accept her for her quirks and Amity wanting to be accepted for who she is, and not have all this pressure and high expectations and not be seen as an ice queen or little miss perfect.
And I love the Little Miss Perfect and ordinary references and remixes in the song as well
This song need to have an animatic because this is that good. And more people need to see this
