Epoxy can be removed easily if it can be heated to 120-150°C. When applying epoxy will go runny and wet better if the job can be heated to 40-50°C, it will also knock the mixing bubbles out. It will also cure faster if kept warm but this is not always advantageous, although it can be set in 30 minutes doing this, the bond seems to be weaker. A 24h epoxy will always be stronger than the quick-set varieties. All flavours really need 48h to set before use. Epoxy is a cement, it doesn't adhere as well as some adhesives (glues), but it does fill gaps, is strong and permanent unless you want it off. Worked with the stuff.

But the epoxy is similar to the resin used to make the rod, if heated in the future to replace the tip again wouldnt it damage the rod?

How do you stop the thread from the spool wrapping elsewhere on the rod......tried to fit my new guides after watching this and ended up losing it! Thread knotted and snapped several times

If you use the epoxy, will the tip ring come off the same way by heating it? if it needs changing in the future.

Can you just replace the ceramic ring insert or is that not possible? Is replacing the whole eye the only way??
