    I have to say that taking video lessons with Desi is no joke. I never picked up a guitar before this past Christmas, and through Desi’s video lessons I play more songs, better, and by memory, than most of my friends who have been playing (at it) for years.

    I like using a B7 after the Cmaj7. Adds a little blues to it. Great lesson.

    I haven’t tried to play this funky music on guitar before now. It was always some other genre of music that I tried. I’m glad you had this lesson. I liked it and I enjoyed your lesson. I always learn from listening to you.

    I love playing along with you and to see if I can figure out the key it’s in ...but it’s all about the why!!,

    The solo isn’t quite 100% but gets the basic vibe across. Excellent work on the chord voicings at the of the chorus😎. Kudos for a great & clearly presented lesson !

    These song breakdowns are excellent. At some point can you do "The Stumble", Gary Moore's live version. Thanks

    Desi, with songs like this I find it difficult keeping hold of the pick. Does your Picking Mechanics course address this? If not, how can I work on/ resolve this?

    • @thomaswheatley6742

      I should also note that I have your FT book and the video series and find them both to be extremely helpful.

      This is strumming not picking so it’s not covered in my picking course. Because of the tempo, 16th notes, and syncopation, this is rather advanced strumming. How well do you play the strum patterns in other songs? How many songs can you play using open chords, power chords, and barre chords?

    • @thomaswheatley6742
      @thomaswheatley6742 3 роки тому

      @@desisernaguitar I'm fine with strumming most other songs. I can play all open chords and, thanks to your video lessons, most barre chords and triads as well. Been playing off and on for many years. I'm an older guy (62) and i seem to play with a light grip on the pick that causes me to either re-finger it or drop it completely. I've made a conscious effort to hold it tighter, but it feels uncomfortable. Looking for ideas. Thanks for all you do.

      Thomas Wheatley How are you holding your pick?

      Desi Serna Guitar between thumb and forefinger. I have tried thumb, forefinger and middle finger as well.
