I just got into your plugins and am really enjoying them. I will say it's super unfortunate that i won't be able to use the GUI and will have the plain Non-GUI layout. I don't want Microsoft edge on my system at all. I wish there was even a stripped down version of the GUI that worked, but if that's the route that y'all are going for all the new plugins, it's a shame. Literally none of my other plugins require it.

Hi that's. technical choice from our side to be able to leverage the huge amount of web technologies that exists. this allow us to have less bugs (no need to reinvent the wheel every time) and create plugins faster and cheaper, this giving you lower prices. Also shoeing the webkit engine to render the UI allow us to have responsive UIs the will adapt to screen size (useful to port our plugins to iOS) We don't require Edge but just the webview from Microsoft which is their name for the WebKit rendering engine.

Lots to take in in this one. I have been putting tapes on my channels and then used multicomp and clipper/limiter Mk4 at the end, with a TridA from Arturia and it gives a pretty good sound. The hiss from all of the tapes gets really noticeable after the clipper/limiter stage. What level would you put vs the default, if there is anything to change? Need to come to grips wit the SW34EQ MK2, not fully in control, especially how that low cut works. Will dig a bit more. It was very useful to think as "printing channels to tape" before doing the rest. Thanks a lot.

well you should think in the "analog domain" hiss is there so you need to minimise the amplification of every track which means low gain and low faders levels. The basic rule is to "hit the tape hot" which means use the highest possible levels before going into noticeable distortion (unless this is want you want) and from then use the less possible amplification. That's the reason why I the past we were recording "produced and finished" sounds on tape and not raw ones.

@HoRNetWeb Makes sense. While we are at it, Swiss tape is Studer. What do American and Japan match?

@@HoRNetWeb So, maybe an AnalogStage before a final tape could make sense to use.

@@philippebackprotips yes it will that's a good thing to do, i haven't used that in the webinar because i was afraid of too much saturation but why not

@@philippebackprotips Japan is an Otari MX80, American 1 is an Ampex MM1200, Swiss is a Studer A80MK2 and American 2 is MCI JH24

I have used AnalogStage > Tape on 5 channels (kick, snare, claps, synth1, synth2) and then > ThirtyOne > ELM128.
I got a good hard hitting track and then, since I was on the tapes and preamps trajectory, I put Soundtoys Decapitator w Triode option before the tape of the kick.
    It was properly gain matched.
I got a really hard hitting kick and I am not able to reproduce that thing w Hornet plugins atm. What would you use to achieve that? Valvola comes to mind but I may have missed one of tour plugins to do that.

Hi use AnalogStage MK2 with the tube mode selected, make sure to hit it hard and reduce the headroom with the saturation knob since decapitator is really a distortion effect and you should aim for a very good amount of distortion

@@HoRNetWeb OK, hitting AnalogStage hard may be the part I missed.
