Got the space grey and brown smart case. The case is really worth it for the price. Very detailed made and it's real leather. Just compare them to the third party case they are more expensive if you compare them into their category.

Had this case for a few months now and it looks better with wear i think. The leather is almost a perfect fit - i brush the inside screen cover with a suede brush which helps keeps its soft protective feel. The whole package screens quality. I'm such a poof.

Space grey with red smarth cover was amazing
$89 bucks Canadian plus tax. My red one arrived today. Worth it? I think so, it's absolutely gorgeous and fits like a glove.
My biggest concern is staining. I sprayed it with Tana All Protector and it didn't seem to do no harm, hopefully that will help.

I had the red leather SmartCover and was really disappointed with how badly it discolored after a relatively short amount of time. With the Air I've gotten the black leather case and am very pleased so far. It feels great in your hands and shouldn't discolor, I hope.

Dropped it once, and landed on corner. iPad was not protected (small scratch but no denting) however the worst part is the case can no longer hold the device in place since the corner is now deformed. Way to go for an 80 euro case that doesn't even prop itself up well.
Well the case isn't designed for drops, it is mostly to protect against scratches.
You clothe a device in a case to protect against scratches and the odd drop. Have a silicone iSkin case for my iPad 2, paired with the original Smart Cover which was dropped with frightening regularity for four years and never had a scratch or dent...
I don't mind paying premium price for premium products, but they need to perform as well..
Mark Grech Silicon is a much better material at absorbing bumps and drops than leather is. And there is minimal cushion (i'd argue no cushion) on the smart cases.
The thin cases are mostly for show. They look great. I have a smart case on my iPad mini 2 and I don't expect it to protect it other than from scratches on the aluminum body.
I usually use Griffon technologies cases for things that I don't want to have to replace. Or no case for some products.
I used to take my iPad out of the case so many times, it started to be unsecured. Threw it out the next day...Pretty disappointed.

Does the iPad Air have motion background movement?...just notice when you moved the iPad that the background was moving, depending on the angle you were moving your iPad. Just wanna know...because I'm planning to get one around my BDAY and it either this one or the iPad Mini? :)

Do you find that the iPad Air tends to overheat in this case? I have an iPod touch 4g and i got one case for it and my ipod would sweat in it due to the material... making sure this doesnt happen to my Air

I have no idea which case to get. Love the quality and look of this one but am not a big fan of the floppiness of the stand. Its either this or the ZooGue prodigy. No idea which one to get.
For $80, that case ought to be perfect.
I can understand your point and respect your views, however, i normally do not look at the price if i feel the product i am buying is of a high quality. The case is leather, fits perfectly and the stand issues aside, seems to go perfectly with the iPad.
80 bucks is and will be expensive to some but like i said, the price does not matter if i feel the quality is there.
Ik heb de ipad 2 met simcard en de ipad mini wit! Maar als ik had geweten dat deze tablets zo slecht op wifi reageren had ik ze denk ik niet gekocht! Met mijn fonepad kan ik meer en die kost nog geen tweehonderd dertig euro.

No 32gb is just perfect 16gb is to low and plus the updates are huge and the pre installed apps take some GB also
I have the 32 space grey and its filled up from the first sync. Dont know your preferences, but I would go with the 32, my plan is 64 next time as I like to put alot of apps and tv shows.
32 gb isn't enough for me, as I use it for school, as well as gaming and watching TV shows and movies. Get the 16 gb if you want to just have a device for surfing the web, and social networking, but if you want to have apps on it, and TV shows and movies, go for something with more storage.

Open settings, scroll down to lock/unlock. Toggle it.

I got The brown smartcase to my iPad air and The case dosent fall back if i touch The screen if i Shall watch Movies or stuff like that!
I agree that apple products have amazing quality im an apple fan myself but two things that Apple does that annoys me is their overpricing of products and them holding back when they upgrade. One example is the Ipad Mini. When the Ipad Mini came out there were already ipads and other devices with a retina display. But they didnt include it just so they could re release an ipad with the regular: Speed, Retina, And Camera, and im not even sure the camera got improved, not that it matters.
Does it add weight?
Well as he pointed out, they don't stand up right. As soon as you touch them, it falls down. They don't have that great of a magnet to hold it closed when the iPad is in use. Last years smart case did not stay shut if you had it in a bag and sometimes turned the iPad on and off. I still love Apple and their cases/products but they are not 100% great
Everything you state 4:45-6:25 is the reason why this product is not a 'high quality case' and 'perfectly desinged for the iPad'. The magnets just don't work as well as they are meant to in these Smart Cases. And looks like it's as bad as the older models and doesn't measure up for the Apple standard of quality and it's very high price.
Product red is no longer an apple exclusive. You can now buy product red apple items at Walmart.
Got the ipad air case , and the poly finish you talk about at 1:40 is sticking out when the ipad is in the case. So it gets really annoying like touching a sheet of paper edge all the time. I dont know if its common , but mine is going back to the apple store tommorow.
I agree but dont you think 80 bucks is a little pricey for just a case. A case that has its problems such as a collapsing stand. Even without that problem i still think 80 bucks for a case is pushing it a little, especially since the old ones were like what 40? 60?
Mike, how do we get some cases for you to review which are much more affordable for the mass? $10 iPad Air case that is designed in Seattle, WA and made for US corporations to used by their field staff. Material is PU leather exterior, and microfiber lined. Highly protective, quality, and extremely affordable.
i got mine few days ago it is so sturdy the case itself that holds the ipad is so hard. no bit of issues at all im so loving Apple original products IPADAIR2,3G,64G,SPACEGRAY;D
Disappointed they decided to go with leather. However, "Assembled in China" leaves the word "leather" open to interpretation.
As for the price tag, anyone paying that just doesn't like holding on to their cash.

It should be mandatory to perform a drop test when reviewing cases. The iPad is the most fragile instrument on the markt and these expensive case never do what the should...protecting the device. You should already be happy if the device doens't pop out of the case when it drops (from 10 inches high).
This is so expensive for a smart case. If you want a cheap one, go and get a Poetic Atmosphere case. Its like $20-$25 on Amazon. (Not a sponsor)(But I want to get paid to do this)
Looks like i have to shell out $80.i want a case that covers both front and back that i can pick up in store. Anyone have any idea about cases i can walk into a store and pick up tomorrow?
@DetroitBORG I can totally see the utility for this smartcase but don't you think it's a little overpriced for what it is? Or is it really worth it.

Complete rip off doesn't shut right & doesn't hold £60 for this junk. don't buy get a 3rd party case if you can or go without as it makes the iPad more bulky.

Why didn't you made a unboxing and review of the Nexus 5 bumper case and its many colors. Last year you did made one for the nexus 4 bumper but not the 5. *****
From the amount of leather they will buy to produce many of these they are just a waste of momey

I love the feel of the official cases, but I'd still go for the cheap eBay ones for a fraction of the price. This is a lovely case though.
