My dads been member of the mosque committee 4over 40yrs n i gota say i neva miss an episode we as a family watch ck as a family with dad and our tids r aching with laughter. By the way what those BHANDS do when they come on your marriages in Pakistan? No on offences them. I think, this show is great and obviously Citizen Khan does not protray a stero type Pakistani. It is a general out look and behaviour of Asian, Europeans and off course Americans. So I feel this is a great show. Last but not least, I am a practicing Muslim.

I was really negative towards the Pakistani community due to ingrained racial stereo types and islamphobic propaganda. This comedy made me laugh and I'm glad to say cured me of all that negative horrible feeling . Citizen khan is great medicine for breaking those negative issues hey people as just people I have all the DVDs now and love them I know who I support now in the cricket 😂.

*+Esayel* I'm not a Muslim per se, but of what i know (and I've travelled to Indonesia and lived in my homeland India) that core teachings of Islamic jurisprudence would not permit lying even for the sake of making others laugh or things like stand-up comedy which is often exaggerated things. In that sense, if you look then any of the comedy shows fall short of the code of conduct. But you mention enjoying it in parts. If you do realise or understand that it is a caricature of all the characters and sometimes exaggerated at that, then you'd at most see it as stereotypes and nothing more. we can mock us morals, not Almighty. I fail to see how it disrespects Almighty unless you meant that it goes out of the way of the teachings in doing things out of the way (like i mentioned in the beginning).
Sanjeev Bhaskar from The Kumars at No. 47 is Punjabi and Adil Ray on Citizen Khan is also Punjabi. Funny that the two most famous British shows featuring Indo-Pak South Asian families in England, UK both feature a Punjabi as a the lead actor.
I think I understand some of the criticism for the show. And it's actually not from the show itself but from the promo videos used to sell the show. They often involves Citizen Khan (only) trying to interact with ordinary citizens and some of the things he said we a bit problematic and without context don't make a lot of sense.
I loved citizen khan as a kid but when they say its about Pakistanis it also contains a lot of rude parts of Islam taking the piss out of the azaan the way he said about the thwadis Muslim s that itself is very bad
It's a bit tame to be honest, some funny character moments, it would help if their was more depth and complexity to the comedy as it too broad at the moment to really be a cutting satire for Muslims/Pakistanis, or a transcendent British comedy for everyone else. Mc Raa would have been much better as a more contemporary parody, almost everything he says in the youtube clips hits the mark with pertinent accuracy.
Some of you don't half talk some shit. Every single one of you know someone who's like that. Everybody knows a fella like Mr. Khan and all you have to do is to a mela and you'll see them sort of girls there. If you can't laugh at yourself then don't be laughing at anybody else ......
