    Psalm 100 (1st Version) Lyrics
    1 All people that on earth do dwell,
    Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice.
    2 Him serve with mirth, his praise forth tell,
    Come ye before him and rejoice.
    3 Know that the Lord is God indeed;
    Without our aid he did us make:
    We are his flock, he doth us feed,
    And for his sheep he doth us take.
    4 O enter then his gates with praise,
    Approach with joy his courts unto:
    Praise, laud, and bless his name always,
    For it is seemly so to do.
    5 For why? the Lord our God is good,
    His mercy is for ever sure;
    His truth at all times firmly stood,
    And shall from age to age endure.

      Indeed.
      'As the eyes of slaves look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maid look to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, ''till he shows us His mercy'' '

    Scottish Psalm singing has got to be one of the most heavenly sounds in all the earth. I am very thankful to have discovered Psalm singing as a Christian. What a blessing in my personal devotions it is to sing these inspired songs!

    When my mother lay dying (far too young) in the 1980s, she sat up in bed a sang this is a firm voice. "Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice" meant so much to me passing through the valley of tears. We chose this for her funeral.

      Thank you so much for sharing this testimony. How good our Lord is to give us such comfort in the valley of the shadow of death.

      Yes, nothing comforts like the Psalms. Thank you for sharing, and take heart, the Lord is building His church, even in these times which seem so dark to us.

      @@westminstercovenanter912 yes, indeed every nation who was founded on the Word of God has been leaving His commandments, apostasy all over. But there is a remnant in each of these nations that love the Lord and follow Him.

      @@joannemazza1657 Yes, all praise and glory to Him! I am aware of the situation in the UK, and pray daily for the Lord's mercy on the people of your land. I am afraid we will be facing much the same thing in the U.S. soon, and in fact we already are in some measure. The Lord will shelter us until these calamities are overpast. Have you listened to this sermon yet? I listened to it again recently and was much encouraged by it. I believe Rev. Stewart is correct when he says that the Lord will not forget a covenanted people, which Scotland most certainly is. God bless!

      Thank you for your kind inquiry! The psalms are intended to be sung a cappella, therefore no prerecorded background music is available for them, so far as we are aware. However, the musical notation is available in the split-leaf psalter, which can be purchased at: www.grangepress.com/product/the-1650-scottish-metrical-psalter-split-leaf/.
