Actually Reagan wasn't likeable to many of those who lived through his unfortunate tenure. Apart from his wretched policies he was manifesting early symptoms of Alzheimer's throughout his second term. He couldn't remember where he was during a story or a debate point and in meetings sometimes thought that he did actions which he were performed in his acting roles. And yes he probably didn't lie a lot because he was too out of to remember what he said and what he didn't say and what he did or did not do. He was so pathetic in press conferences that once his staff faked out power outage to turn the lights off and end the conference to extricate him from one of the messes he was in. If we had an educated electorate imbeciles like Reagan and the fatuous Bush wouldn't be within a hundred miles of the White House.
