- It's been a good amount of time now since Akuma released as a DLC character for SF6. At the start of the season, everyone was saying he was a guaranteed top tier, and maybe even the best in the game. But the hype has died down a bit since then so let's play some ranked and see if this shoto still is as good as people said he was when he launched.
Street Fighter 6 is now available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.

He is more like an A+ due to the demon flip nerf and teleport nerf. If somehow capcom buff this these a little bit then I might consider him a S tier.
I'm ngl, even with it, he still has the most utility across the board, to me he's still number 1 even with his low health

@IytrrvItru I would put him in top 5 or 6 but as much as the pros have mentioned they moved back to Ken like abird or Tokido, they still agree he has more utility and is better just to them you have to take more risks, akuma has too much oki, plus frames, mid and full screen range control as of now for him to be put any lower than 1st
@@RaijinRift you made valid points but honestly he doesn't really feel top 1. I have more success with ken because of the corner carry, better low forward, hp, side switches and match ups, with ken I only got to look out for Guile, which ofcourse is not unwinnable but Akuma's also gotta worry about him and Bison. Still, the match ups isn't that bad for Akuma but Ken's is just better. And with all these advantages he kinda goes on par with Akuma in defense and offense, I guess Akuma's neutral is kinda the strongest in this game but yea to me it all falls down to match ups because they really decide if you're winning tournaments or not.
@studentoflife8532 I agree with you on some parts, but ppl found out recently that akuma's low forward somehow is farther than Ken's by a little but it's so unnoticeable. I get you other reasons tho, cause that's what they talked about defensive wise to be safer ken is prob the better option, I think it's just my person opinion cause my top 3 rn goes akuma guile rashid then idk maybe ken Chun cammy aki, but those aren't really ordered too much

The only reason he's not the best is his difficulty. Not that anything he does is inherently difficult, but the fact you have less health than everyone makes it where you can't mess as much
not only the health, but the fact that he is not as consistant, because of the risks he takes. maybe he is even the best on paper, but when you will randomly lose 2 out of 10 rounds because of his high risk, high reward nature, it doesn't matter if it is mathematically in his favor, since he wins 4 because of it. he is great for grinding ranked, but in tournaments, sooner or later you will lose 1 or 2 rounds because of it and so the short set, what means the end of the tournament run. a good character just isn't automatically good for tournaments. the same applies for marisa. consistancy is just more important for tournaments than pure character strenght and ultimately, tournaments are the only thing that matters at the highest level.

Also his mid screen combos leave a lot to be desired. Insane in the corner though. Then again so it's everyone.

Why does he randomly presses buttons while grabbing the opponent? Is he buffering something or just a habit? I'm really curious about it.
my guess would be it's to trick the opponent that you're doing a meaty when instead you're grabbing.
@@WarmMinerK But he does the random press WHILE grabbing. How would the opponent know what buttons he is pressing while in the grabbing animation?
Nah its just a habit. I do that too lol after a grab or a super, while the animation is going on just mash all the buttons😂

The risk is too high and the reward is alot less than with previous Capcom Akumas, especially in SFIV and SF2 Turbo. The lack of health and invincibility teleport are arguably the two main reasons for that.

Bro ngl akuma is more like A tier compared to bison or Ken so much more better people who do just as much damage or more(aka bison) with better corner carry neutral and pressure (bison again) his honestly underwhelming and needs a few tweaks not to much buffs but a few man cause honestly his fkn shit in my books compared to a lot of other people and I’m master

Akuma is for sure top 3. Sure he has 9k health, which does matter more than some people say, but because of his damage every other character may as well also have 9k health.
Disagree, nobody who does well in tournaments uses him.

He doesn’t even do a wild amount of damage. It’s solid but hell even Ryu puts out more damage than Akuma.

Heads up Mr. Editor. I can't speak for everyone else but I would love for the Raging Demon to play in full. Regular Level 3's make sense to skip because we've seen them a million times but not RD
hm....... I was putting them on the first videos of akuma, and nowadays i think everybody saw RD a million times too, so i preffer to cut yknow, but I'm going to be aware of that! Thanks for the feedback!
There are characters that are better then Akuma. You add in that he has 1000 lower health and it’s a problem.
Akuma's pretty top tier, the 1000 less health is more than made up for his access to insane buttons and insano-damage.
@@InsandomNot to mention he has the best walk speed, some of the fastest dashes, the best fireball, and his OD dp is the most damaging reversal in the game. Akuma is, at the very least, top 3 IMO.
@@whateveryouwantmetobe.1489wrong. 3rd best fireball after guile and deejay it’s the most versatile fireball but not the best. Also keep in mind everyone in this game does crazy damage so him doing average damage while losing 1000hp is a mute point. He floats around top 5 or 6 realistically because of his depth. If the Akuma player is versed enough with the character he’s kinda hard to beat because of his insane amount of oki set ups
@@Kilo.GodsonBy fireball I mean ⬇️↘️➡️ motion. I wouldn't call Guiles boom a fireball since he is a zoner and can't really function without it. And Dee Jays projectile is very punishable unless he spends drive. Also I disagree, he has incredible damage on his punishes. For example, Luke has average damage on his combos, and after the nerf, His max damage is about 6600 damage. Akuma gets almost that without having to spend as many resources(given he has CA available.) If you do use all resources, he breaks 6800, which for a character with his movement and utility, is more than enough. Apart from him having atleast above average damage, his movement is a huge boon. I would say the only thing stopping him from being top 1 is human error. Despite how great his tools are, he is very frail, and demanding to play at top level. That is why he is 3rd on my list, after Guile and M. Bison.
@@whateveryouwantmetobe.1489 I see what you mean as a Akuma player I never thought to consider the input as a plus infact I think it’s annoying that’s it’s linked to 2 of his other moves ( ie his dp and his super ) but I digress. As to your point about Luke well Luke was nerfed. Akuma like most characters if they spend everything can break into the 6400+ range on a punish counter, which again makes his damage average. His set play damage however is one of the highest, he’s needs to make you guess less than most characters all this goes back to his crazy oki set play which is the best in the game imo all things considered if you look at the matches you will see Akuma has more chances on oki to make you lose health but his damage in doing so is average.
We need wake up demon and make his standing HK hit on crouching opponents.
5HK whiffing on crouching opponents is the only thing keeping that move from being totally broken.
I play Akuma and I still think that's way too much
@ryo-kai8587 totally agree, many people use 5hk randomly, thats just neutral skip.
Definitely not the best in the game. It's not even in the top four.
