I don't know if you still look at these comments or not but I want to let you know I certainly enjoyed your video more so than any of the other ones I've seen which I haven't seen a bad one yet but I like yours the best you done an outstanding job with this video thank you so much I'm 59 years old and I have always admired Buford Pusser ever since I was a small child and first heard of him may God bless all
I’m reading Dwana Pusser’s book “Walking On” she tells that Buford was flying from Los Angeles to Memphis. Sitting in 1st class section before the plane took off someone 2 seats back hollered “Buford”! Buford walked back and it was Elvis in disguise. Elvis bought both seats and asked Buford to sit with him which Buford did. When they arrived in Memphis, Buford called home to say he was spending the night at Graceland. A later time Dwana tells how her daddy arrived to the house. She looked out the window and seen that Eddie Bond was driving so she ran out to speak to Eddie. It was dark but noticed someone was in the back seat but couldn’t tell who it was. It was Elvis. The next morning Buford and his mother was talking about Elvis and Dwana asked why didn’t he tell her Elvis was in the car. He told her the neighbor hood and town didn’t need to know. When Buford’s previous home burnt down Elvis mailed a check to help with the rebuild of the current home. Elvis respected Buford a local boy.
He did a promotion for his book with my father, Dad was a photographer and Buford came and had a book sighning one afternoon and be and my mind there and two brothers had our pictures made with him , I was less than a year old , my parents say d.the gently giant played with me the whole time I was there ... I am very proud of that..
Great video, I would like to visit McNairy county Tennessee and tour Sheriff Pussers home and museum one day, Looks like a lot of interesting stuff in the museum. Again great video.
We visited Adamsville and the surrounding area several years back. I was so excited to get to see Sheriff Pusser's home and museum. We also went to the cemetery to visit the gravesites of Buford and his wife Pauline. I love history, especially about a 'hero' so close to me. I live in Tupelo, MS. I'm not even sure I was born, certainly would have been a small boy, when Buford was Sheriff. To know that all of this happened in the McNairy Co. TN and Alcorn Co. MS (Corinth) areas made it even more interesting and 'real' to me. I'm sure that they are no longer there, but I would love to have seen the infamous 'joints' that Buford busted up time after time and traveled down 'New Hope Road' where he and his wife were ambushed. We did see the 'spot' where Buford's car wrecked and exploded. There is a sign marking that spot. I would love to have been living during that time and could have met him and got to experience just some of this that is now history. From all that I know, and have read about him, he was a fine man and he respected the law. And of course he had no tolerance for those who didn't. If he told you to stop, to leave, go home... you better do it or you would find yourself on the painful side of that big stick. He meant what he said. I have seen and love all of the movies. I guess the first one was the most special because that's when I first got to know about the man. He was, is and will always be a legend. I wish there were more like him today. If you are a fan and haven't been to this part of the TN/MS area, you need to go some day. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did. And Thanks for reading my post. ❤
Yeah I've been aiming to get down there and see his place and I haven't made it yet and I have been planning on it ever since I seen the first movie!!!!!!!!!!
I saw the movie several times Pusser was a tough sheriff. I lived in Memphis I worked with girl she said that she used to baby sit for Buford Pusser s children.

I remember this as a kid and I never forgot him. Tragic life as well as tragic end. God Rest his soul now.

BUFORD PUSSER WAS ONE HELL OF A MAN !
Red West was in the first and second Walking Tall movies, as Sheriff Tanner.
Hell of a actor he “was” that sheriff they dont make actors like that anymore
Just seeing those three original lumber sticks of his up close would have been worth the trip alone!
Yeah I've been aiming to get down there and see his place and I haven't made it yet and I have been planning on it ever since I seen the first movie!!!!!!!!!!
Until a few days ago I had not heard of Sheriff Buford Pusser.
Plus I didn’t know Elvis and Red knew about him.
Very interesting to watch.
loved that Lincoln...
I met Dewana at the museum when it was in pigeon forge. I was about 13 or so Mom said she thought I was flirting with her.
Red West was in Walking Tall 2 as well.
I saw the movie several times Pusser was a tough sheriff. I lived in Memphis I worked with girl she said that she used to baby sit for Buford Pusser s children.
it would be nice to see the watches he wears in those years
⚘
That Corvette was given to Buford by a Chevrolet dealership !
She said he purchased it after he paid off his house from the movie money.
Ive heard a story About How Elvis heard Bufords house was torched an Elvis helped him with some money ?True or not ?
This is certainly on my bucket list... Been to #Graceland a few times.. Now #Dollywood and #BufordPusser museum ..!
