What a good and very informative video! Thank you so much. I am driving 6 hours in 2 days and spending the night to go see all these places and the museum! Great video!😎
He was a good character in personality and his career as the sheriff was well validated throughout the McNairy County, Tennessee, my father was part of some sawmills that still had connections to the lumber trade in both Tennessee and Kentucky and Virginia, Dad said it was true he had some enemies that many of the area were afraid of the Dixie group that had some tough related link ups through out the south,...Buford was a big hearted guy, if you had a need he did it for you, dispute of the claim he was a dirty cop, he always followed up on the criminal elements regardless of the feeling of ill intention by him, he had unique ways of using methods to get people in order in the old fashioned styles of the south, and he did use the stick, but, in the ways to harm people,..My father knew his father Carl Pusser.
The concrete area diagonally across from the Shamrock is where the old weigh station for the state of Tennessee was. It was shutdown when the 45 bypass was opened.
That story of the big club came from Buford going on a call to a night club fight. He didn't want to go in with a gun blazing. Cause obviously a crowded nightclub is no place to go in firing a gun. Buford saw a two by two piece of wood. And,he picked it up and beat the crap out of the trouble makers. The End. Big club was a thing for the film ...to make it more interesting. Diane Hayse
I,ll say this my DAD worked for him on a tile job at his home and a business he owned and my DAD was a great one to see high character in someone and he said Mr BUFORD was a really good man he treated my DAD and his helper really well and yes paid really well so i,ll leave it at that i know my DAD wouldn,t lie about that he feared no one my DAD he said Mr.BUFORD PUSSER was a Big MAN and he took off his shirt to show my DAD and his help and said he looked like a JIG SAW PUZZLE where he was cut and we,re from east tennessee
Damn, I totally overlooked that! I believe the regiment the officer was from was from ETN, I don’t think there were many Union units from this area. I was passing through and thought it was the foothills of the Appalachias!
You are wrong on the location of the Russ Hamilton. The house that you showed was next door to the actual shooting. The actual place is the brick building that you showed briefly. There was a one room apartment attached to the building. It was later purchased and was on display at the Pusser Museum.
Why is it, So many people doing these video documentaries, Most of them Can't pronounce Buford's last name, Pusser?? I could pronounce it when i was 14. But Anyone who thinks that Buford " murdered his wife & shot himself" has shredded cabbage for brains!!! Even the TBI agent Warren Jones said in 1967, that " anybody that think That, theyre pretty Ignorant about gunshot wounds". Btw, you Should know that the " other guy" from Arkansas has claimed all that BS because his Aunt was the woman that Buford killed; Anyone who called him on some of his shaky info, he calls them names & blocks them from his page.
You got the location of the Hamilton shooting very wrong. Its was not in that newer house. That's brick building that you showed down the street was the right location. There was a small apartent right next to it. That white house is not it
McNary Co is in West Tennessee not East Tennessee That part of Tennessee is not considered Appalachia. It more of the Delta. Other than that a great video.
My sister lives in Reagan just up the road 30 minutes and knows the history very well. Great objective video, but your pronunciation of 'Pusser' is all wrong.... It's Pusser which rhymes with cusser. (like someone who cusses).
Mr Pusser was gone take nix Jr n to towhead white out him self, bcuz he knew they would've eventually gotten out of prison n disappeared,so he wanted to take them out personally, bcuz they killed his wife I'm sure he loved his wife,r.i.p. to the both of them

My family lived around the corner i 1963. We used to play with the Woods kids which lived next door to the Pussiers in what used to be a cow pasture.

Puh-ser
Great information! Thank you for sharing! I live in Illinois going to make a road trip down there soon.
Buford Pusser was a Great Lawman and was a Legend.
You obviously aren't from West Tennessee and I will leave it at that.
Must be related to Louise Hathcock
Thank you for a great commentary, I heard some things that I had never heard before thank you enjoyed so much,

How can you relate East Tennessee to McNairy County when it is in West Tennessee?

All good. Enjoyed your content.
Nice work John Pusey
I suck at names 🤣
When we went to this site in 1993, the old motel was still standing, but was really starting to deteriorate.
The brick building you showed at 11:10 is the exact location. Not that spot the new house is on.
The museum is worth going to see 👍
I like walking tole..
Hey mane u should have showed da brotha's house da inside g

Bottom line. Great man
McNary Co is in West Tennessee not East Tennessee
That part of Tennessee is not considered Appalachia.
It more of the Delta.
Other than that a great video.
Sorry to criticize, but the least you could do is learn how to correctly pronounce his name.
My sister lives in Reagan just up the road 30 minutes and knows the history very well. Great objective video, but your pronunciation of 'Pusser' is all wrong.... It's Pusser which rhymes with cusser. (like someone who cusses).
I’m beating myself up over this, I think a I heard it mispronounced once and it stuck with me.
Paulina was killed the day of my birth
Whoopty Ding Dong
