Nimesh Chokshi good point there. In my eyes this theme is much more appealing to adults than racers was and children can also enjoy the car builds so I really do hope it loves for a while.
Thanks for getting stuck into the f40 first a great choice and great review . Looking forward to getting this asap. Will go nicely with the 918 , Chiron and Mustang i have .
The only thing missing on the car is an F40 sticker on the right side of the rear wing. Other than that I think it's perfect!!! Can't you tell it's My dream car!!!! 😍😍😍
I just ordered this, can't wait to build it! The only dream cars missing from the Speed Champions line for me is the Testarossa and Countach. How they make a Countach will be interesting, it'll be either a genius Lego design or a disaster.
2:32 Totally agreed on this point. I don't buy speed champion sets where this is especially important, but I like to be mindful of how I apply stickers with all my sets. Two stickers side by side as part of the same design? I try and get them as close to the edge of their respective bricks as possible. It just makes sense. And great to see the JANG pointer again, I love it!
7:06 I love the technique of just dropping a part in place! In this case, it's probably prudent to clamp it down like they did. However, I can remember in the Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters using the "drop in place" technique on a kitchen sink element where gravity was the only thing holding it place. I thought that was brilliant.
I just got home from school and there was a huge box waiting on my sofa for me. I opened it and inside was all 4 of the Speed Champions sets I ordered, the F40 being one of them :D. I didn’t order the mini set though because I feel like £45 is too expensive for two cars and some scaffolding
What a well done design for an iconic car. I grew up wanting to get my hands on a Ferrari 512 TR myself. Here's hoping the Lego designers can give us a scale model of that sometime in the future!
JANG, this was a great review, thanks so much! I did not know about the alternate configuration until watching your video. I have never bought two of a set before, but probably will so I can have both displayed at the same time. Thanks again for the review and showing the comparison to the larger model.
I thought the Mini set would be my favorite of the wave, but looking at this up close... it might be my favorite Speed Champions car ever. I really like how they got that one tile on the side to be upside down. Hopefully LEGO makes a Testarossa in the future!
That looks really awesome for the size! I love the use of the new 1x2 rounded plate for the exhaust tailpipe! I need to pick up (or build my own) early 80s Porsche 911... and a nice mid-80s Saab 900, in the same scale...
I just picked this up a few hours before watching this review, and I absolutely love it. A must have for this who missed out on the large scale expert F40
I just this set last night and loved the build! Great techniques and it really captures the character of the F40 beautifully. I’m just disappointed with the wheel covers. The stock wheel covers just look too thick.
One of my biggest (albeit not entirely reasonable) complaints about the Speed Champions line is that there wasn't enough '70s muscle or '80s supercars for my taste. And it looks like they've addressed that in the first batch of 2019 models! I was really hoping they'd make a Countach and an F40, and this F40 build looks better than I could have asked for. The skirts, the black striping, the triple-exhaust, the printed pieces, the extra parts to make the Competizione into the road version... Sublime. They really do spoil us sometimes. Here's hoping for that Countach!
I just bought this set, at last. I am so happy with it! Jang, your review does this excellent set complete justice. I too love the print bricks, the subtle brick built details and the very intelligent & clever techniques used in the sub assembles. But for me, what elevates this model to greatness (there i said it) is the fact that it looked so mediocre at first glance. What?! I mean to say that it looked just "so period". What you see on the box front is so un-Speed-Champions, with a brick wedge car that has a plate on top of a non recessed windscreen wedge. This is exactly what a late 1980s or early 1990s built lego car would look like, with the limited range of bricks and techniques available back then. I recognise this aesthetic so well from my youth! And it's so appropriate a style and a" look" for the age of the subject. It's a beautiful thing to see. Yet, when you build it and you find the level of complexity and thought that has gone into producing such a deceptively simple wedge shaped car? The realisation that these quite advanced techniques have been used to replicate what looks like a simple built up, brick on brick car... It's something very special. Currently my favourite SC build of all and firmly in my top three for the foreseeable future I think.
I love this car, too. But I think with this particular Speed Champions build the rear is too short. I would have found a solution to avoid the studs atop of the roof too. Not great, but will pick up a couple regardless and just do my own thing with them, because it's LEGO!
The sc sets are not my cup of tea to own but I enjoy your view on detail in this review... well all of your reviews. Yesterday I decided to rebuild my old Galaxy Explorer so I checked out that old review you did in 2014, good watch also. Have a great day!
Sweet looking set! I own most of the Speed Champions and I think this will definitely be one of my favourite ones. Might have to buy two to be able to display both versions offered.
My city is almost solely populated by Speed Champions cars, but this is one of the greats! Now I just need a Porsche 959 and a Lamborghini Countach and my 80's fantasy is complete.
They did a great job with this... seeing the lights on the back makes me hope they make a Mclaren F1. If they do, I hope they capture it as well as they did the f40.
Btw I bought it and thought the front was too flat. I got a 1 by 4 and a 2 by 1 flat red and 2 red 1 by 2 slopes and replaced the front 1 by 6 and made it look cool
I really like how they designed this F-40, it's almost perfect at this scale, hope someday they will make a Ferrari 458 Italia, one of my favorite Ferraris!
hello jangbricks, i got this set today friday 8 mars 2019. for me it costed 169 swedish krones. ps. I had little slight problem with the front of the ferrari and the spoiler under the front. but i sorted it out when i see what was wrong., :-) have a nice weekend and see u soon here on youtube.
Just a small suggestion. How about using an arrow of a color different than red when presenting a red model? It really blends in. Great review as always.
The only thing I see missing is the F40 on the right side wing pillar. Could't have been that hard to do if they can print a tiny Ferrari emblem. Seems like a pretty glaring omission to me.
Great video, but do you think you could mak a blue arrow for very red sets like these? The red on red was a little difficult to see exactly where you were pointing. Just an idea i had. Keep up the great work!
Love the printed 1x1 plates. Just wish Lego could improve on the opacity of their prints. The red on black is terrible. Some of the lego clones are able to print better than this.
The 1x1 that is used for the exhaust were normally ink wells, my question is that instead of feathers doesn't lego make flames that fit those and if so can you take a photo of the small F40 with flames in the exhaust?
Jang. One error you made on the base model. That black 2x6 double curved brick is only supposed to be added for the F40 Competizione, not the base model.
Dang, the more I watched this review the more my opinion of the set rose. It my be a case of too little too late (what are we, three series of Speed Champions in?) I definitely think Lego should go with adding extra pieces for the cars (like the Merc way back in series 1) instead of a weird tiny sidebuild made up of four or five (even two, in the case of those traffic cones that came with the Bugatti) pieces. Why not use those for customisation, like in this set? Mhmm, may have to be picking this one up for sure.
Loved the review! Minor gripe here (and only because I know you like to be a perfectionist), but when the pointer is the same red as the set, can you pick a different color arrow piece next time? Thanks as always.
Hey Jang, since we're talking about cars, what car are you driving now adays? I remember you used to be into the Evos and general JDM cars back in the day.
My only criticism of this model is that it should have been lower and wider, but I don't think a better result could have been achieved within the constraints of Lego.
See the build of this car at ua-cam.com/video/97xMoqIfY70/v-deo.html along with the Senna.
Hi Jang
I can't wait for the senna review:)
9:08 You’re welcome ;)
Congrats on 1.1 mil
JANGBRiCKS in my country the Lego speed champions from 2018 and 2019 cost now 20€.Its worth it?
As a car guy I approve and I hope this line never dies
Koala Fan The fact that they are still venturing into new avenues for the line is a good sign for the theme.
Nimesh Chokshi good point there. In my eyes this theme is much more appealing to adults than racers was and children can also enjoy the car builds so I really do hope it loves for a while.
I honestly hope we can see a Lamborghini in the line.
KittyHacker46 Rbx A Rollce Royce would also be nice or a Bentley Continetal GT
Same
Thanks for getting stuck into the f40 first a great choice and great review . Looking forward to getting this asap. Will go nicely with the 918 , Chiron and Mustang i have .
Miky Koon yeah I have the Chiron and the Mustang also and will be a great grouping
I have a lot of speed champions
Buuuttt I’m on holiday and if you know me which you probably don’t then i don’t exactly have the best memory
Epic

Omg kadz i love ur infinity war vids :D
@Kadz YOU'RE HERE OML YOUR THE LAST PERSON I WOULD EXPECT TO BE HERE WOW
@Kadz Here to see the best channel on UA-cam then?
The only thing missing on the car is an F40 sticker on the right side of the rear wing. Other than that I think it's perfect!!! Can't you tell it's My dream car!!!! 😍😍😍

Lego is really knocking it out of the park with the speed champion sets, mostly. I know I'm enjoying the mopar set.
Just bricked It, and realised I need another for the second version. Clever Lego again. Ohh, and many thanks for the tips to apply Stickers!
I'm definitely getting this set. I would love to see my favorite super car, the Countach LP500S as a speed champions set, especially in white.
TOP ten Ferrari Coupe!
You can't catch me!
Whoo! Whoo!
Wow
This isn't Gnaj
@@shinobitreecko8442 Yes it is. XD
That looks awesome, I've always been a bit hesitant to get any speed champions sets but this will go nicely with my creator F40, I'm sold.
2:32 Totally agreed on this point. I don't buy speed champion sets where this is especially important, but I like to be mindful of how I apply stickers with all my sets. JANG! The black 2x6 front splitter shouldn't be on the road going F40 only on the F40 LM, looks way better without it
the us f40 models did have a splitter tho
What a well done design for an iconic car. I grew up wanting to get my hands on a Ferrari 512 TR myself. Here's hoping the Lego designers can give us a scale model of that sometime in the future!
See Lego Set #40193 (it's the S Model)

Wow this seem like something I would love to have

Can’t wait for the dodge drag race
Jang's sticker application skill is at the expert level that dwarfs any other lego review videos on UA-cam.
That looks really awesome for the size! I love the use of the new 1x2 rounded plate for the exhaust tailpipe! I need to pick up (or build my own) early 80s Porsche 911... and a nice mid-80s Saab 900, in the same scale...

Some other 80s euro cars like the BMW M3 and Audi Quattro would be cool to see.
I just bought this set, at last.
I am so happy with it!

Another great jangbricks video
I swear, this guy could write a book about a grain of sand. Incredible.

replace the 1x2 slope behind the lights with a 1x1 tile and a 1x1 slope so you can turn the 1x1 slope around to make pop up headlights
My city is almost solely populated by Speed Champions cars, but this is one of the greats! Now I just need a Porsche 959 and a Lamborghini Countach and my 80's fantasy is complete.
Jang also did a Creator Expert review of the F40
Great comparison with the creator expert version, thanks for doing that!
Can't wait for the senna review
Hey Jang! Great review! I just got this set and I think it is great.
Caleb Drepaul I’m getting it tomorrow! 😀
They did a great job with this... seeing the lights on the back makes me hope they make a Mclaren F1. If they do, I hope they capture it as well as they did the f40.
Thank you so much, this is my favorite car in the world, now that it’s in Lego is awesome. You make the best reviews!
Thanks great review. This will be my first Speed Champions purchase as it was the one car I've been waiting for
Btw I bought it and thought the front was too flat. I got a 1 by 4 and a 2 by 1 flat red and 2 red 1 by 2 slopes and replaced the front 1 by 6 and made it look cool
Definitely going to get this set. Wish Lego would make a winged Countach to go with it. Best of the 80's !
Great review of a really nice set. Will add to my “must buy” list. Thanks for your great honest, objective reviews Jang!
Im gonna buy 2 to get both versions and put them side by side with the large F40
I would LOVE to see a Subaru wrx sti rally car it would be cool to see Lego make that and "legoafi" it
This set is selling like hot cakes in my region, couldn’t even get it
which region?
I really like how they designed this F-40, it's almost perfect at this scale, hope someday they will make a Ferrari 458 Italia, one of my favorite Ferraris!
Thanks for the sticker advice! I personally prefer the street F40, and have it displayed as that.
Omg l am loving this set. By no means a real car is just legendary. Ut was a first car to go over 200 kmh and l am 100% getting it
I bought this the day it came out and I kept it in the Competizione stage because the Ferrari F40 Competizione is my all time dream car.
hello jangbricks, i got this set today friday 8 mars 2019. for me it costed 169 swedish krones.
ps. I had little slight problem with the front of the ferrari and the spoiler under the front. but i sorted it out when i see what was wrong., :-)
have a nice weekend and see u soon here on youtube.
awesome little set at a reasonable price. keep up the review jang!
I feel like crying every time I remember I missed the Creator F40 ಥʖ̯ಥ
Same :(
Bricklink guys, fair prices. :)
I got it like a month before it retired and im 100% satisfied and now ill probs get this tiny one
Oof
same : (
Just a small suggestion. How about using an arrow of a color different than red when presenting a red model? It really blends in.
Great review as always.
They already had them 20% off at Amazon so zoink, in the cart and on the way! Thanks for the review!
I just made my own speed champions F40 moc last year. Now there is this set...
I’m eager to build my own! This is my favorite looking of the new Speed Champions sets.
Please do the senna next
Who would've thought that we would have cars like this in Forza Horizon 4? Lol
Can't wait to get this
Interesting to see they used 100% of the parts budget on the car, and didn't do the throwaway extra mini build that other Speed Champions sets do.
Nice little set. I may pick this one up, it’s a nice design.
The only thing I see missing is the F40 on the right side wing pillar. Could't have been that hard to do if they can print a tiny Ferrari emblem. Seems like a pretty glaring omission to me.
I like your vids hope you will get 10mil subs
Great video, but do you think you could mak a blue arrow for very red sets like these? The red on red was a little difficult to see exactly where you were pointing. Just an idea i had. Keep up the great work!
Hey Jang, get Lego to make some JDM cars for us guys
YEAH BABY 350Z HERE WE GOOOO
Love the printed 1x1 plates. Just wish Lego could improve on the opacity of their prints. The red on black is terrible. Some of the lego clones are able to print better than this.
In fairness, red is the weakest colour and black the strongest. It was always going to be difficult without using two layers (white undercoat).
This is pretty awesome! I love the wheels!
The 1x1 that is used for the exhaust were normally ink wells, my question is that instead of feathers doesn't lego make flames that fit those and if so can you take a photo of the small F40 with flames in the exhaust?
I can just see a fairlady 240/260/280 in this
I just see an nsx lol
i can see a ferrari f40
It’s dope that you’re a car guy too
I just bought one looks nice
Jang. One error you made on the base model. That black 2x6 double curved brick is only supposed to be added for the F40 Competizione, not the base model.

Great review Jang. I will be getting two of these
HAH! I just built mine, turned on the computer and I see you uploaded this!
I got two 1by1 red flat pieces and i used it to rise the wing it looks way better now
I love speed champions and JANG
Looks great but some angles (1:53) it looks more f50 than f40
thats it Im buying this set cuz of this review thanks jang i love the minifig
Nice looking car definitely planning to pick this one up at some point
Hey man I hope you have a great day
Need to whip up a Magnum PI minifig!
kinda which they use the same buidling technique they use for the bumpers on the Porsche 911 and turbo set. I think its too blockly in that area
How new are these wheels?
Hey Jang, since we're talking about cars, what car are you driving now adays? I remember you used to be into the Evos and general JDM cars back in the day.
Hope to see a Honda NSX na1 in the future
I'm here before the forza comments come rolling in
Same here
Hopefully LEGO will use more printed pieces and less stickers like Mega brands.
I hope they make a speed champions Countach to go along with this car
You forgot to take the splitter off on the “base model” configuration.
It look so good 😊
Literally my dream car
amazing i have f40 lego creator 5:35 but if this ferrari f40 speed champions will relased in my country i will buy it
Isn’t there a larger version of this car that was released a few years ago?
Yep I show it in the video.
My only criticism of this model is that it should have been lower and wider, but I don't think a better result could have been achieved within the constraints of Lego.
Just Buy The Creator One Then
Nice build but they could have used a darker red
Can we get an updated new jang city update?
再現度が高いですね!!
買う予定です!
私も、このフェラーリがかっこいいです。
