Hey guys, this is PART1 of my family’s Filipino restaurant experience in Seoul!! The restaurant is called "Arat na" and it's a newly opened one near Sadang. The Korean owner of this restaurant was so generous and he explained well to us about Filipino dishes! Please correct me if I gave any information wrong to my family!!

Yeah, “Anak” was a global hit back then.
It was translated into 27 languages and released in 56 countries. The Korean version were by Lee Yong Bok in 1979 and Jung Yoon Sun in 1981. It was also played in “Gangnam Blues” in 2015, both the Filipino and Korean versions. (via Wikipedia)

Actually, the table where Sylvia and her family sat in Aratna is also the same place where we celebrated my co-Filipino student's birthday last month... The restaurant has excellent menu list so it's a must try.

Actually, I came to the celebration late so I missed the shrimp rings haha but since we celebrated it in a Filipino resto, we managed to share to our foreigner friends the Filipino cuisine.

I love this video. And you have excellent singing voice, I loved how you sang along to one of the songs. Your dad is showing appreciation for the food by not talking while eating...I think that really shows how much he enjoys the cuisine. Sometimes in the Philippines we say, "galit galit muna tayo" which means "let's act as if we are angry" (not talking coz of anger)... Its something like "let's mind our own business for now" meaning you want to enjoy the food so it's like everyone just don't talk and just eat the delicious food and focus on the food lol.
I enjoyed watching your video and appreciating your effort to introduce to your family our Pilipino food.... nice voice, more power.

Every region's cuisine in the 🇵🇭 is bomb! Samareño kinilaw, fish paksiw, and pako salad are must-try dishes! Ilocos pakbet with chicharon, garlic longganisa, and empanada iloko are delish! And have you tried banana tree pith kinilaw of the T'boli tribe? Simply unforgettable.
