Hi, you know, it happens the same to me... I cant chose betwen oils or acrylics or watercolor, and when I finilly do is late and I´m tired of wondering all day... Maybe its fear, maybe is self boycott for feelings of quilty or something emotional I guess... But it happens, and we have to be strong and keep going, Thanks for this video!
I'm with you there. But then when I personally overcome the procrastination, it feels so good to create. So I try to learn to overcome it quicker and quicker. Maybe even catch myself when it starts happening. Thank you for your thoughts, keep it strong and keep creating! ☺
This is all too accurate! I've thing i do is try to make it as frictionless as possible to start. If it takes more than a minute, my brain will find a way to avoid it. So even if starting means "open x sketchbook and produce one bad doodle" - once i do that, I'll be more into the flow of things and starting is no longer scary. So then I'll actually pull the paints out and get cranking
Yes, this is real. I just can't leave a lot of free space to think about it before I start. I'm glad we're learning about ourselves so we can be happier and more creative in the future! 😍
I heard a remark that is going to help me about this. To engage in the creative flow for 15 minutes then take break. I haven’t started a project yet to try it. I really get a weird thing happen if I go longer than 1 1/2 hours without long break. Like knife stuck in between upper shoulder blades. It causes avoidance like a Pavlov’s dogs event. It might fix if the carpal tunnel surgery I got works well. It didn’t used to happen but it got worse. Also need to be away from dogs. But those thoughts are definitely the worst. Thank you for reinforcing some thoughts I have had about this and the new ones. So young! Good insight.
Yes, I have heard about 15 minute rule and it is really helpful to me although I usually just "remember my excitement" towards the project and it gets me going. I'm sorry for your pain and I hope your health improves. Sending you healing energy from Slovenia! ✨☀️
@@JaraSafirowska yes. There is that as well. This remark about being in an excellent state of creativity for that 15 minutes and to really mean it that walking away for awhile ( how long I don’t know actually…..individual I suppose and sensible….wouldnt want paint to start drying! It was the first time I heard of such an idea and intrigues me. Thanks dear person for your care!
