Chasing Rainbows // A Fly Fishing Story // Part 4

Per tradition, me and the fam took a week off work to go out to the Delaware River system in New York to fly fish for big wild browns and rainbows. Bug week lived up to its name this year with plentiful hatches of March Browns, Grey Foxes, Green Drakes, Isonychias, and Golden Stones. The fish rose to the occasion as well - I earned new personal bests for Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout on this trip. Also rounding out the week were several smallies (Smallmouth Bass), American Shad, and everyone’s favorite freshwater tarpon, AKA chubs. In this video (part 4), as soon as I made the realization that I had NEVER landed a Delaware River Rainbow Trout, the biggest rainbow I’ve ever caught on a fly rod found its way into my net. Several other rainbows, browns, and chubs rounded out the last two days of the trip.
