Funny story, as kids me and my brother never figured out how to use the stat points, (Yes I know now as an adult it's simple, but we didn't know) so we took turns muscling through the entire game without stat points, and we didn't know the Senzu Bean glitch so we constantly had to buy health items. It makes the game much harder but we kept on pushing no matter how hard it was, it took us almost an hour and a half to beat kid Buu, but once we finally did, it was the highlight of our childhood.
Yeah, I remember the first time I played through it when it came out back in 2004 when I was 12, I wasn't aware of how to allocate stat points since the game never actually tells you how. I remember giving up during the fight with Janemba because it was just impossible at that point, but came back to it not long after, having learned about the stat points, and I've probably beaten it five times over since then. Once I started statting the characters up, I realized that the game is actually SUPER easy lol
Honestly, judging by the review, it sounds like it would improve the game a lot. It goes from being a self-playing yawnfest to a Dark Souls-lke trial by fire.
I salute you because I endured the same thing. I thought it was insane that they'd make a game so difficult, and at best I thought the stat points system was some sort of glitch since I thought the points would allocate on their own somewhat like Legacy of Goku 2. I have lots of fond nostalgia for Buu's Fury regardless, but damn that first playthrough as a kid was hell.
the second kid buu at the end was actually one of his copies he uses while fighting for some reason it just didn't disappear when you finished the final fight
If you go fishing before Majin Vegeta will be back to regular base Vegeta until you beat Buu. The Final Impact animation will also have him in base form instead of Majin.
I personally like the buu saga more than the androids/cell saga. I found Cell to be a little too similar to frieza while buu was a great villain. He couldn’t be reasoned with, he was powerful enough that outsmarting him didn’t matter much, and in his final form he was just pure destruction. He wasn’t any more “evil” than an earthquake or tsunami that kills hundreds of thousands or a pit bull that mauls a child and I think that made him a really interesting villain. Goku’s whole thing was that he saw the good in everybody and truly believed if he showed friendship people would come around and grow to be good but with buu that wasn’t something that would ever happen (aside from fat buu) ultimately Goku had realized there was no way to reason with or befriend a force of destruction so he had to relent and kill buu but true to his nature he regretted it and hoped that somehow, some way, buu would come back as a good person and they could be friends. It’s a great ending to the series and I’d argue that kid buu is a truer antithesis/nemesis to Goku than frieza which many consider to be
Another wonderful video. I feel like I'm the only one who actually enjoys the buu saga. Wonderful editing and excellent comedy. I think I recall borrowing buu's fury from my cousin when I was younger but I didn't make it past the great saiyaman part.
I enjoyed this game a lot, but I feel like the removal of the “knock back” mechanic from the previous game when you hit the enemies back to a wall kind of broke the whole combat system. It’s a game that can be pretty enjoyable if you artificially make it harder for yourself and choose not to just back every boss into a corner and then smash the punch button until they die.
this game is my 3rd dragon ball game that I have ever played, it was buu's fury, supersonic warriors and legendary super warriors for the Gameboy , I played these games really late I think it was around 8 years aho, I loved these games so much cause I didn't get to play them when I was growing up. I hope you do a review of all dragon ball games for the Gameboy, there's some good once like Legendary super warriors
Boo's Fury and Legacy of Goku 2 are always fighting for 1st place in my heart because it's extremely hard for me to decide which one I think has the better gameplay loop. I love the powers in Boo's Fury. I love the absurd level caps, the equipment system is really fun to mess around with, and the areas you visit are way cool. On the other hand, the game is just too easy and nothing is really capable of challenging you. Plus, Goten and Trunks are not all that fun to play with compared to Piccolo and Future Trunks. Legacy of Goku 2 is more challenging, has better characters, and really nice level design even if you have to backtrack through most of it. Unfortunately the characters aren't as dynamic as they are in Buu, there's very little post-game content, and you don't have access to most of the roster for a gigantic portion of the game. It's always a toss up, but I do genuinely love both games to death and am glad they ended up amazing after such a rocky first entry.
One of my all time favorite DBZ games lol Also the one I played to death on road trips as a kid! Love this game to death, Real shame you could never play as Vegito past his boss tho
@@HiddenChannel Definitely my favorite fusion lol, And yea it's odd they could have easily just made the Potara an item you hunt down, or hell maybe a reward for Beating the game or something
so some explanations.. Vegito gets absorbed on purpose to save the others from inside buu, before defeating him... And why the fusion, besides being "permanent" ends inside buu has a double explanation... In z, it was due to the conditions within buu's body... In super, it was stated that the potara fusion is only permanent among the kais and mortals only have one hour... But using to much energy during the fusion can decrease the fusion's time to even less than that..
Interesting note on the Majin Vegeta bit. You said you stay in SS2 indefinitely, which is true. But I did accidentally find a way to negate that as a kid. When characters go fishing, they undo their transformation automatically. This is true even for Majin Vegeta. Go fishing at master roshi’s island and you’ll see. I’ll warn you tho, once you get out of it, there isn’t a way to manually reactivate the SS state. So if u don’t want that, stay away from the piers ;)

Buu was my most unliked saga as well until a recent rewatch a few years ago. It was then I realized how wrong and caught up in the "fanboy" cell saga I truly was. The buu saga has alot of subliminal messages like upside down crosses etc when buu or something bad is happening. There's alot of explored duality of man questions, and it's the one that makes the most sense as to how an enemy can/can't be defeated. Energy being endless and goku wishing the reincarnate of buus energy upon the spirt bomb converting negative energy. I thought it was the hardest, most tedious game ever because of that. By the time I found out about the stat upgrade, I lost the game.
I've been going back and playing tons of games I missed when I was a kid for whatever reasons. I'm looking forward to getting this one soon and playing it. I enjoyed LoG 2 quite a bit and Buu saga is my favorite so this one should be fun.
I'm fairly sure I've played through this game, but damn do i not remember any of it. It wasn't even as a kid, it was like 5 years ago. Update: I watched more of the video, seriously, I remember none of this.
I've been enjoying your content, but I just wanna get this off my chest, even if you don't see it: Goku is NOT as bad as you think he is. He never abandoned his family thoughtlessly, he died for his son against Raditz (with Piccolo kidnapping him and then leaving him alone in the wilderness for 6 months before he started to become a good person) he stayed on Yardrat to learn how to control Ssj with their training (he threatened Gohan to leave with Piccolo before he lost control on Namek i imagine that thought process is what he was going off of) he sacrificed himself AGAIN against Cell when he realized his mistake (cuz YES, the whole thing with Gohan was just him genuinely misunderstanding, I can't blame him too much for that when Gohan seemed to have been eager to train with them literally every time before Cell) I'm not even sure he even KNEW about Goten's birth, and the moment he came back to earth, his thoughts about attracting trouble proved right, as if he wasn't there, the Buu saga would've ended with Gohan and Vegeta stopping Babidi. (The only reason Buu was revived was because of Majin Vegeta, who never would've become a thing if Goku hadn't come to visit) plus, one of his driving motivations in Buu was trying to make sure everyone could take care of themselves since he COULDN'T anymore. And the thing about him leaving with Uub? I'm not sure if that's an English dub thing or just Toryama completely screwing up his writing vs his intention, because Goku DOESN'T leave his family to train Uub, he leaves to tell Uubs family about the training, and in the quasi-sequel manga, Neko Majin Z, we see UUB living with GOKU and the SON Family, Goku effectively just adopted him and is training him alongside Goten and Pan. Is Goku the best? HFIL no, he's not even my favorite character, but his rep as a bad dad is blown WAY out of proportion, and Toryama doesn't help by trying to retroactively make him worse whenever someone brings up his good qualities. He literally said at one point that Goku just considered Chichi a friend, which makes sense when you consider he married her out of obligation because she wanted him to keep the promise he made when he was 12 and thought marriage was a food, And then later went on to say that Goku didn't have a concept of friendship with ANYONE, even Krillin, which contradicts both the previous satement and the Ssj transformation. (Note that the marriage to Chichi was a self-imposed punishment on top of that, Toryama didn't like her, so he married her off to Goku to FORCE himself to continue drawing her.) Sorry for the rant, I'm just sick of hearing all the Goku Bad Dad stuff, I generally enjoy your content, it was just brought up way too much here I feel. 😭
And unfortunately, teamfourstar with dragon ball z abridged did a lot of harm to Goku’s character and with Dragon Ball as a whole. They completely made Goku look like an incompetent fool and the fans ate it up, going so far as saying that DBZA was the definitive version of Dragon Ball.
23:19 no joke about that. I was shocked at the easiness of this game. Comparing it to the first one.. good God some of those later bosses was hard. I stopped using equipment because everything was dying so easily. I never finished the game because I got bored. But I finished part 1 & 2. And heck with the level stage blockers. Just give me a warning of I'm under low. If I get my ham handed to me 🤷🏾♀️ that's on me.
To be fair, SSJ was devalued by the time Vegeta showed off the Ascended state, and then Goku alluded to the "next step". We knew SSJ was going to be a small deal moving forward from that moment in the Cell saga. We're also about to come to blows over SSJ3. Form is too sexy for any hate. 😡 Also, we not gonna talk about the fantastic score? The use of the chip-tune versions of Bruce's company score was so good. Maybe you touched on that and I missed it? Overall, fun video, though it does feel a bit.. rushed? Not in length, mind you. More in, you seemed to just want to cover what each chapter was, vs talking about fun game quirks or bugs/whatever. Felt like something you did for the first and second game, but didn't do here. Maybe I'm just misremembering.
Sorry you didn't like the video. I talk about the music only very, very briefly. I usually don't talk about music much because honestly I don't know anything about. Also I find SSJ3 to be very unsexy lol
@@HiddenChannel Nah, didn't dislike the video. Like I said, thought it was fun. Comment was more meant as constructive than anything else. It's why I tried to include what I felt was different about it in comparison to some of your other work. Like the Budokai retrospectives. Yeah, I must have just missed the music bit. We're gonna have to throw fisticuffs out in the street over SSJ3. Only way to truly settle this. 😡
Imagine you Protecting the Earth Saves it several Times you died several Times for your Family and the People saying you are a Bad Father and the Random Green Guy who kidnapped your child is a better Dad🤣
Also, Goku was never a bad father. Worse thing he did was make Gohan fight Cell, sure, it turned out fine, but the ends dont justify the means. Cuz lets go over this: After Gohan got kidnapped by raddits, Goku teamed up with his, at the time, worst enemy, to immediately go save him. In order to win the fight, he HAD to sacrifice himself. For the next year he was dead, so he LITERALLY could do nothing about what was happening to his son on earth. Upon being revived and as soon as he got back to earth, he rescued his son from almost being stomped in the ground. He fought Nappa, then fought Vegeta, but before fighting Vegeta, told Gohan to leave cuz it'd be too dangerous. After the Saiyan Saga, the only reason Goku didnt go with Bulma, Gohan, and Krillin was because he had to wait until the Senzu beans were ready, so as soon as he was able to, he went straight to namek and gave his son, who just had his neck broken by Recoom, a Senzu. Lot of crap happens and Goku needs healing after the stuff with Ginyu. Nothing happened to Gohan throughout the rest of the saga, so lets jump to the Android and Cell sagas Sure, Goku chose not to return via the Dragon, but it's because he was recovering and training on Yardratt, but during that entire time, NOTHING bad was happening, the closest bad thing was Frieza and King Cold showing up, and in both timelines, nothing bad happened. Trunks killed frieza in one timeline, goku did in the other. During the training for the androids, Goku trained with Gohan and Piccolo the whole time and had to recover once the heart virus started. In the Time Chamber, Goku was with Gohan the entire time and spent the week before the Cell games with his son and family. Cell games happen and there was the only "bad father" moment i mentioned earlier, but not only did he apologize to his son, but he further encouraged his son to win after he had failed with his Instant Transmission plan. He then decided not to come back because he believed he was the reason the earth was always in danger. Skipping all of the Buu Saga, during End of Z, we learn that Goku has been with his family for 10 years straight, only leaving in the end to train the reincarnation of Majin Buu. So yeah, no, Goku was never a bad father except for that one instance during the cell games
As I rewatch the video I realize how hard the late Buu saga was trying to sell us Hercule/Satan as a goofy guy who shouldn't be hated, while he was probably the biggest piece of shit imaginable in the early arc. His "Satan City" is a lawless hellhole, Videl hates him because despite her mother's death he keeps running after women without even trying to hide it, etc. I guess the lectorate must have really hated him back then so Toriyama was trying to fix up his reputation. I remember how us kids despised the guy back in the 90s, although not so much anymore today.
It was a fun game but it was way too easy once you level up and have food and energy drinks. Please with cherry on top review dragon ball z super sonic warriors 2.

Super Saiyan was never as special as the series made fans believe it was. And say what you will about Super, but that series had the balls to admit to the fans that it isnt special, nor has it ever really been. Its nothing but a power up technique unique to the Saiyans that ANY Saiyan can achieve if they know how, and the Back Tingle was the explanation as to how one can do it. Hell, said explanation is basically the same as Gohan's explanation to Videl on how to harness and use her Ki. In fact, I think the situation with Goten and Trunks becoming Super (and later on Gotenks becoming SSJ3) was supposed to be the original hint that "hey guys, Super Saiyan truly isnt as special as you all think it is" but NO ONE listened and took it as....well...whatever they took it as that wasnt that
Buu Saga is amazing. The anime version is bad, due to many pacing issues. The manga version is fantastic. Some of the best writing and art in all of Dragon Ball
I was a big fan of this game back in the day. They really got into the swing of things with this game. It was cool being able to play through so many events that had previously and subsequently never been playable in a DBZ game. But yeah. The series should have ended at Cell.

He never abandoned his family thoughtlessly, he died for his son against Raditz (with Piccolo kidnapping him and then leaving him alone in the wilderness for 6 months before he started to become a good person) he stayed on Yardrat to learn how to control Ssj with their training (he threatened Gohan to leave with Piccolo before he lost control on Namek i imagine that thought process is what he was going off of) he sacrificed himself AGAIN against Cell when he realized his mistake (cuz YES, the whole thing with Gohan was just him genuinely misunderstanding, I can't blame him too much for that when Gohan seemed to have been eager to train with them literally every time before Cell)
I'm not even sure he even KNEW about Goten's birth, and the moment he came back to earth, his thoughts about attracting trouble proved right, as if he wasn't there, the Buu saga would've ended with Gohan and Vegeta stopping Babidi.
(Note that the marriage to Chichi was a self-imposed punishment on top of that, Toryama didn't like her, so he married her off to Goku to FORCE himself to continue drawing her.)
Sorry for the rant, I'm just sick of hearing all the Goku Bad Dad stuff, I generally enjoy your content, it was just brought up way too much here I feel.
I remember hoping they'd do a GT one of these games. Even the worst of that story could've been fun if presented like this.
Im loving all the tfs references
will we see gt transformation from you reviewed? it was a "sort of" sequel to buus fury from webfoot technologies
I played through this game so many times at age 12
Hey hidden do you think you'll ever do a banjo kazooie retrospective review
Sometime in the future
I loved the buu saga.
I didn't know you could use the stats points until gohan fights super buu, if not even later than that.
Also, we not gonna talk about the fantastic score?
@@macdaddymario Or even better...a dance off
@@HiddenChannel Nah. No one out here in the comments wants the smoke. My fusion dance form is impeccable.
( '.' ), ,
One of the best dbz games. I’d regather play this remastered than Kakarot.
42:51 “Oh no! Were cooked!”
Imagine you Protecting the Earth Saves it several Times you died several Times for your Family and the People saying you are a Bad Father and the Random Green Guy who kidnapped your child is a better Dad🤣
31:45 yes it is 👍🏾 I would love to see a game base around him. I like him more then Goku yeah 😁
28:16 I just died. XD
Nothing happened to Gohan throughout the rest of the saga, so lets jump to the Android and Cell sagas
Sure, Goku chose not to return via the Dragon, but it's because he was recovering and training on Yardratt, but during that entire time, NOTHING bad was happening, the closest bad thing was Frieza and King Cold showing up, and in both timelines, nothing bad happened.
How to get me to hit the subscribe button: be a channel using Danganronpa and Persona music.
Upupupup its Junko, also she used FF13 Music
The Name's Tajin-TajinBuu Lmao
As I rewatch the video I realize how hard the late Buu saga was trying to sell us Hercule/Satan as a goofy guy who shouldn't be hated, while he was probably the biggest piece of shit imaginable in the early arc. His "Satan City" is a lawless hellhole, Videl hates him because despite her mother's death he keeps running after women without even trying to hide it, etc.
I guess the lectorate must have really hated him back then so Toriyama was trying to fix up his reputation. I remember how us kids despised the guy back in the 90s, although not so much anymore today.
Or if your video wouldn't get age restricted you could even do a retrospective review of conkers bad fur day
Reason why the Kamehameha was yellow in some games cuz the colored manga it was yellow
Positive comment
Thankful reply
Great game, awesome saga, attractive woman.
Thank you, that is very kind of you :D
Please do raging blast series and burst limit
It was a fun game but it was way too easy once you level up and have food and energy drinks. Please with cherry on top review dragon ball z super sonic warriors 2.
the music playing at 12:30, is that air gear or dragon ball z? I'm sure its dbf but seems like air gear at the same time
I love this Dragon Ball Z game!
Dude I love your stuff, it’s like talking shit on the bus on mondays after renting or borrowing a game for the weekend, but with a girl, who actually likes this stuff
Who isn’t imaginary
#hopefornerdlove
19:38 I liked that 😁 yeaaaaah
Super Saiyan was never as special as the series made fans believe it was. And say what you will about Super, but that series had the balls to admit to the fans that it isnt special, nor has it ever really been. Its nothing but a power up technique unique to the Saiyans that ANY Saiyan can achieve if they know how, and the Back Tingle was the explanation as to how one can do it. Hell, said explanation is basically the same as Gohan's explanation to Videl on how to harness and use her Ki. In fact, I think the situation with Goten and Trunks becoming Super (and later on Gotenks becoming SSJ3) was supposed to be the original hint that "hey guys, Super Saiyan truly isnt as special as you all think it is" but NO ONE listened and took it as....well...whatever they took it as that wasnt that
Dragon ball z vegeta or dragon ball z gohan anyone
It's a little wack that half of your critique of the game is that you just don't like DBZ.
I hate that I support this saga with that 'Buu's saga joke' 🤣
34:58 Song name?
I like dragon ball
🤔...."Vegeta challenges Trunks to punch him" didn't he do that with Future Trunks in DBS as well?? Wow they just recycling moments in DBS 😂😂😂
Kingdom Hearts 2 when?????
Probably in a few weeks. It is going to be a very long video, so it is taking me a while to make.
Buu Saga is amazing. The anime version is bad, due to many pacing issues. The manga version is fantastic. Some of the best writing and art in all of Dragon Ball
The one I never got to play. Kinda glad since I didn’t enjoy the grind in the other 2 titles lol
Emulate
I was a big fan of this game back in the day. They really got into the swing of things with this game. It was cool being able to play through so many events that had previously and subsequently never been playable in a DBZ game.
But yeah. The series should have ended at Cell.
The game killed itself by being too grindy. It was fun tho but not super replay able like 2
Buu saga gave out way too many transformations too don't forget that
And u forgot broly fight
Wb multiplayer 🤣
boo saga best saga. fight me
This game looks almost as tedious as Kakarot.
