Sometimes Toriyama would use "Partial Color" in Dbz, which means using only one color, which, in this case, is red. So that explains the black and red gi goku.
About 100% accurate ultimates, the reason why the new characters don't have the win/lose bar is because all the animations came from a arcade game realesed only in Japan, it's called Dragon Ball W Bakuretsu Impact, it used the same budokai 3's engine and had a lot new ultimates, including patner ultimates. In infinite World all of the new ultimates (not including the shin budokai one) are from this game, they just recycled but didn't make the losing animation, maybe lazy or no budget or no time, who knows.
The game was rushed out before the end of the ps2 cycle in 2008. Its pretty clear it was an oversight by the devs. They simply forgot to add it in. Same with the broken Ai difficulty.
This Game is nostalgic. I remember getting it for my PS2. I was little and didn’t understand That much of English so I just went to story mode and just fought without Using any items because I didn’t know how to use them and I was basically playing on “Normal” the entire time. Ultimates and Super Attacks carried me hard. I can’t believe I actually defeated Janemba and Pikkon at the end💀 (With 3 health bars as well because i didn’t know you could upgrade your health and stats)
Initially I didn't think beam struggles were removed for budget reasons, as neither was Dragon Rush removed for that reason (Dragon Rush was annoying to a good portion of the players, it messed with the pacing of the gameplay). They already had the code for the beam struggles in Budokai 3, there's no reason why it couldn't just work in Infinite World in the same fashion. However, then I realized that they added those new ultimates in Shin Budokai style... if I had to guess, they either didn't have the time to make all new interactions for those ultimates for beam struggles, or they didn't know how to deal with these new ultimates and the old beam struggles, so it was just easier to remove beam struggles. So it would have been an effort to unify how beam attacks behave in the game. The new ultimates look like they maybe should be able to clash but if they behaved differently from the regular beam attacks (destroy the weaker attack and go through), it could feel annoying and inconsistent. Removing beam struggles would bring all beam like attacks more in line by making them behave more similarly. So it was either a budget decision (didn't have enough time to create new interactions) or a general gameplay tweak to address an issue they didn't know how to deal with. Could be a mix of both.

There is a few things I’d be adding to this iceberg When you apply the Gogeta/Vegetto capsule, Goku & Vegeta’s combo strings revert back to their Budokai 3 strings Directional inputs can only start combo strings Mini-Game fails, when you fail you get unique cutscenes, like Yamcha getting owned by the Gravity Chamber Hercule vs 18 Story Mission (for Zeni Farming). You have to get ringed out to win.
Inifinite World is a classic best of the budokay series extremely hard to find these days ive never played such harder dbz difficulty ever back the day cpu useddd murderrr me on those combos
Nice Iceberg, it's nice to see IW content of any kind as this game goes underappreciated which sucks cuz this is (imo) the best game in the budokai style (shin budokai, burst limit, and the Budokai trilogy) I do have one little note though about the Syn shenron entry Syn has no skills in game because the moves he has are all things he got after absorbing the dragon balls Whirlwind spin is an Oceanus technique while dragon thunder (the version used in game with the lightning from above) is a Rage shenron technique. It's the dragon thunder clap attack Omega uses on SSJ4 Goku, he uses it when he first gets all 7 dragon balls and is showing all the moves he now has, he specifically does Eis' freeze eyes into a whirlwind spin to pick goku up then finishes with a dragon thunder clap to send goku back down.
im actually glad they nerfed Shenron, since he was borderline broken in B3. Starting with max ki was far too much in B3, so adding the transformation cap in IW made him more balanced.
Special Beam Cannon is still technically in the game as a real time ultimate attack. Makes me wonder why they didn't do the same with final flash since GT vegeta ad Baby both have it as regular super moves. Edit: Wait you mentioned them never mind XD
@@MadDragonify I guess the compromise to that was putting in the non-cinematic beam Ultimates like Shin Budokai did, so you can still use some scaled-down versions of Ultimates like Final Flash as Vegeta and Special Beam Cannon as Piccolo.

You can actually select the random icon on stage select and it would give you a destroyed stage level. Downside is that you have to do it multiple times till you get the stage you want

I finally bought it just recently, somehow forgetting how bad it looked, am shocked at how blindly overrated by some reviews on UA-cam, with this proving to me more why this Budokai is awful. I still wonder if the fighting is a bit fun, but the mini games kill it for me, along everything else for how lazy and lifeless it is. I already look forward to selling it for at least a $100 profit years later.
Biggest question I had when I was a kid with this game and Budokai 3 is why Gogeta SS4 becomes black with white hair when you fuse using alternative outfits. Diversity I guess 😂

It was an oversight. Since gt goku starts in his kid-form, and the fusion character model has to be assigned to his adult model. Which is why ssj4 gt goku has the same voicelines as gogeta/vegito goku. The dev's probably missed this or didnt bother to re-program it to give his GT form the fusion.

Nah, that's like saying XenoVerse is Tenkaichi 4 because it's a 3D arena figter with free flight. FighterZ is probably a bit closer to Super Dragon Ball Z (the PS2 game) than Budokai, but I think they are still pretty different.
This game sucks so hard. I remember when it came out me and my friend were big Budokai 3 fans and we were really good at it. We got this game, booted it up, played 3 matches and decided to just go back playing budokai 3. We never played this game again.
its not perfect, but it has some quirks that make it more enjoyable for me to revisit than B3. Of course B3 has better fanservice and a better storymode, but IW removed that garbage dragonrush and vastly improved the capsule system. The aura dash and charge attack make it faster paced. Also they list out all the combos the characters can do. If B3 was a 9/10, IW would be a 7.5 or 8/10.

Small correction, Dragon Thunder is taken from Rage Shenron. Omega's version combines Syn's spikes with it.
