- Hello everyone this is my unboxing and in depth review on the new wltoys 124018 upgrade version that also includes 3 lipo batteries, in this video i give you a nice close up look at the model and i talk about its quality and performance, i also talk about the electrics etc.
This is such a great model and i highly recommended them, wltoys make some very good low budget rc models and i believe that this wltoys 124018 is one of the best they make..

Mine has been a dream, no overheating and is plenty fast on the stock batt, but i might upgrade to a lipo. I put some remo p6973 tyres on from bg and they look great only slightly wider but make handling on grass/gravel 100% better. I did grease the diffs before any runs which has helped. Great vid cheers

Glad yours don’t have any heat issues, once you upgrade to lipo your definitely see a good power and speed increase but along with that some extra heat too, but it will be fine I’m sure., I’ve put some larger wheels on mine to now as well, they make a good deference on the grass.. happy rcing 👍
Foe like 15 bucks difference would you buy the 124018 upgraded or the 124016 v2?
Buy the upgraded brushless version as long as it’s the V2 as the brushless V1 had a timing delay in the ESC..

Have you tried the 124028 Across ? Is this one better???

@@johndawd4616 to be honest mate they are pretty different models, if you want more of a bashing off road type model go for the 12428 but if you want a slightly faster more for road gravel and dusty Terrain model go for the 124018 👍

The 124018 is a bet closer to a rally car and the Across (12428) is closer to a rock racer ...
Ive got this rc car and it gets really hot in 7min so hot it burned up the stock motor in two weeks. But that's ok because I love this buggy its getting brushless anyways.
The brushless motor and servo should hopefully show up today.

There was no grease in the differentials either so I went ahead and put white lithium grease in mine
Tires are bald already also so ive got new tires and wheels coming for it.
Hi mate, I agree with you for the money these are just awesome, yeah I noticed running mine on grass the motor was getting pretty hot, so I’m going to fit a motor fan to it, normally I would plug one in the receiver but as that’s not possible in this I will try hooking a fan up to the light bar or even just hard wire it to the motor, I’ll see.. let me know how the brushless system works out for you and how the stock gears hold up to it 👍
My next thing on this model is to change the shock oil, grease the diffs, add the motor fan and maybe some bigger wheels, did you replace the wheels with stock ones or go for something different?
I got some wheels off Ebay 12mm hex rally wheel for the dirt. Sence I'll be using it mostly in the dirt.

Yeah it Definitely needs the grease in the diffs, to be honest I quite like the stock electrics I’ll be keeping them stock in this one as it keeps the price low. Might look into changing the gearing those and it definitely needs a fan which I will do a video on soon 👍

@@stevemdelacruz5602 yeah the motor definitely gets hot, the fan and a few air vent holes in the body will stop that happening 👍
"upgraded" version with 3x 2600mah batteries 175$ ... i got the non "upgraded" version 2x 2200mah betteries for 77$ ... bro for 100$ i can get a lot more batteries.
