I found out the other day she's called Darkness because she's named after the Final Fantasy attack "Darkness" which basically makes you miss all the time.
I LOVE how each arc is focusing on each character. Season 2 has a big focus on Aqua, the movie had focus on Megumin, and Season 3 has focus on Darkness. Loving it so far.
So we just gonna gloss over the fact that Megumin convinced Yunyun to blow a hole in a cathedral to crash a noble's wedding by promising to be her best friend? Because that's wild. Get this girl some friends lol
Yunyun seems to have no trouble making friends. What's more, while she seems to always gravitate to the sketchiest possible characters, there's no clear evidence she's really being exploited by any of them. However, Megumin discourages all such friendships, out of the twin principles that Yunyun shouldn't be around people like that and that a Yunyun without friends is easier to personally exploit.

As someone who's father passed away from That Which Shall Not Be Named, the scene with Darkness' dad had me really teary eyed, cause he went from being a beast of a biker (think the guy with the mohawk that always has words of wise wisdom for Kazuma) to looking just like that, and my autistic ass didn't have anything to say, so just sat there in silence. Then Aqua comes in with the save, and I'm suddenly laughing my ass off

Like don't cause a fuss, don't litter, don't be dishonest, don't be rude, etc. It's how so many perverts got away with molesting women in public transport, and it's how this scam works so well. Not only would every instinct be screaming to apologise and take responsibility for fixing your mistake, but you'd also be getting pressured hard due to feeling like you're the cause of the public disturbance. For a lot of victims of these kinds of crimes, it's easier to just let them have what they want, and end the situation quickly and quietly (both in terms of giving the scammers money to shut up and go away, and in terms of women choosing to just quietly let the pervert do what they want, instead of causing a disturbance and call for help)
One thing the anime did not explain that was explained in the light novel is just how messed up Alderps's plan was. He planned to get everything set up so his son would be the best candidate to marry Iris. Then, when Iris and his son are married, he would body swap and murder his own son, allowing him to escape the debt to the demon, marry the princess, rule the kingdom, and gain immortality in one fell swoop. He deserves torture for the rest of his life.
I hope these pieces get picked up, because Aldarp having a hand in the bodyswap amulet becoming a throwaway line without any further ellaboration is garbage storytelling.

You can see allusions to most of these plans in the anime if you go back, but with less detail than in the light novels. There is a very good chance these pieces will not get picked up for one simple reason: Kazuma could not care less why any of this happened, and without him choosing to provide details he can't even be bothered to remember nobody who's been trying to investigate Alderp will ever find any of this out. Since major demons and gods are not directly talking to the audience, there's no willing vehicle for exposition. And this basic "you don't get to find out why this is happening because the narrator doesn't want to find out" attitude will repeat. My best guess is that the author's very good worldbuilding was incidental from his perspective: he just wanted a story that could hit a series of tableaus he felt would look awesome, and so he isn't really interested in explaining either.
@@Vagolyk This info was given to the readers form nonstandard POV's as a set up for this book so we knew just how bad a thing the wedding was. At this point it doesn't matter as Alderp is Karmically punished and Kazuma doesn't care. To the reader most of this book had a very large underlying of dread because while everyone was acting like this was normal hijinks the reader knew Alderp was worse than most of the demon generals we've met.

Honestly even though this show has a Demon King, demons, undead, and afterlifes, it never occurred to me that they might have a Hell, where demons come from. These days, a lot of fantasy stories with demon kings, just have the demons be like another race of people. Like Elves, dwarves, orcs, dragonkind, humans, and demons. (the concept of the demons being victims of racism has also become more popular, but I didn't assume that would be the case here)

Not even just this episode. She was really helpful when Kazuma snuck into Darkness' home too. Season 1 Aqua was just True Resurrection, Turn Undead, Goddess Punch, and party tricks. This season, she's been absolutely nailing it with all her buffs, just like Kazuma has with actually learning how to use his skills effectively (like I was so sure when he invaded the castle, that he must only be OP because the mask was buffing him or he was being subtly mind controlled, the same way Darkness becomes OP when she's mind controlled, but then it turned out it was just Kazuma finally becoming a true issekai Protag)
@Trojianmaru The mask was giving him buffs, Vanir told him it would enhance his abilities during the night and make him more sinister or something like that, when he gave it to him. Kazuma was already really versatile with his skill combos but the anime cuts most of his moments out.

I think for Konosuba, the people who are really into it are people who watch a ton of anime. To really get the most out of the show's humor you have to have a really good understanding of the tropes that it breaks, which is a big source of the show's comedy.

In the WN, not the LN, Alderp’s wives looked like Darkness and Maxwell not only tortured Alderp, he also restored his body to keep repeating the process forever, to take Alderp’s despair.

Well I pieced together why he sent the Bodg Swap Necklace to Prince Jatis. He said The Prince and Darkness would be the perfect match. The plan seems simple, give the necklace to the Prince, transfer all of his assets to him, body swap, kill the Prince and marry darkness. He would’ve had youth, power, wealth and the woman he was so obsessed with. Thank Eris that never came to fruition also thanks to Kazuma’s Efforts and Vanir’s Manipulation

I did think that he would swap with Prince Jatice to get a younger body, the power of monarchy and incredible wealth, but I considered the connections of his evil plan only regarding the little princess. I completely forgot that he said some episodes ago "Divorcedness would be a perfect match for Prince Jatice" and I disregarded it as crucial information, but now it made perfect sense. That Aldarp not only a plan A, but also a plan B to get Divorcedness on his grasp. I'm so glad he got what he deserved. And with how he had a portrait of Divorcedness' mother in his mansion (I think she was the mother, because she seemed "big" in every aspect), I wonder if he was so obsessed with the mother (and then the daughter) that he was the cause of her early death.
@@AngraMajinuAldarp was even more messed up in the Light novel, which the anime didn't show. He was obsessed with darkness since she was a child, had forced many woman that looked like darkness to marry him, abused them and then they started to bore him, he would make them 'dissappear'. His first plan was to setting his son(the noble from season 2 I believe) up to marry Darkness and switch his body with the sacred item and kill his own son to escape his payment from maxwell and stay in his sons body to remain young. After that failed he send the body switching item to Iris brother who will become the next king, then switch his body with him and kill the prince in his old body and later marry Darkness.
The reason why Vanir helped Kazuma in all of this (including the time Vanir gave Kazuma the mask), was so Kazuma could regain his 2 mill eris from Alderp's savings, and then SPEND MORE MONEY ON VANIR'S MERCHANDISE. It's literally the best business plan (assuming Wiz doesn't spend the money on garbage LOL)

A fantastic ending, so much humor in this last episode after the build up. I love that versatile entertainer, which is probably from some side path Aqua's been leveling up, is so useful. Such a good show.
the problem with the anime is that they display it as a beam from the sky. but in the novel explosion is not shown that way. explosion is a ball of light that gets shot. so she simply shot it into the sky

It is called "Boku no kokoro no yabai yatsu", is a 25-episode romance anime, over the years it has been considered one of the best romance animes ever, with a beautiful story and memorable characters. Now that you've finished Konosuba, I hope you watch this anime at some point. I love your reactions to romance animes, and I'm 100% sure you won't be disappointed, all the people who have reacted to boku no kokoro loved it.

Yeah so the reason the adventurers didn't immediately jump Aldarp and his men was because he was still a noble and they could get into a SH*T ton of trouble which is why they pretended to ignore him and then made up that assault incident in order to get justification.
You'll hear tons of people say something is as funny or is like konosuba, nothing is, however there are animes I would call konosuba genre. Combatants will be dispatched is konosuba genre and made by the same creator. And The Dungeon of Black Company is also konosuba genre. I'm not sure who made that one but I wouldn't be surprised if it was also the same creator.
I watched Princess connect re dive, before I watched konosuba and saw people make mention it got konosuba flair, mostly cause of the same produce or director. I forget, cause of that, I had to watch the first 2 seasons and fell in love with konosuba.
If you are craving more konosuba in the meantime, you might want to check out the Megjmin sidestory: Explosion on this wonderful world. It is a prequel to season one and fits better after season two in watch order, but guess that ship has already sailed.

If I recall, according to medieval Christian tradition, abandoning a bride without consumating the marriage would be ground for an annulment, which would mean that legally the marriage never happened. So yes, by that interpretation, she isn't a divorcee.

Im not a big fan of the 'Miraculous Healing' a lot of stories just pull out of their ass, but when done for comedic effect that shit hit different enough to get me cackling.

The year is 3045. The last ambers of humanity are barely alight. In the darkness of humanities last hours a Berzerk anime, Konosuba season 4 and No game, no life season 2 are announced. Half-life 3 never showed up.
I formally want to ask for a refund for my enthusiasm for this season finale. I excused episode 9 and 10 for being lackluster, as they seemed at the time to build up to a bombastic episode. The season finale is great, but the usual great. It did not have to have two episodes dedicated to establish what little was accomplished.
Examining the ending montage, Chris is shown to donate a larde sum to the wrecked eris church. What is not shown is her geting the demon summoning artefact. I wonder what happened to that.
“Divorcedness” is the greatest bar Kazuma has ever dropped. I love this anime.

And honestly I always assume that unless something happens to actively go against the light novel, then stuff like this just happened behind the scenes (like how the Re:Monster anime had insanely dark stuff about drugs and SA, and even though the anime didn't show any of it, they also still took all the hottest women as their prisoners)

Alderp tries to gaslight Maxwell that he liked him, so he’d be let off and Vanir doesn’t correct him… because Maxwell now likes him and will treat him like ‘how he played with his wives day and night and broke them, making sure not to break Alderp in hell’ forever (Alderp abused his wives, broke them, then tossed them aside.) In the WN, not the LN, Alderp’s wives looked like Darkness and Maxwell not only tortured Alderp, he also restored his body to keep repeating the process forever, to take Alderp’s despair.

Though I imagine the version of Alderp we saw in the LN and WN, probably deserved it a lot more than the anime version of him. Since this guy seemed barely slightly worse than Kazuma on a bad day (they even seemed like they might bond over that peeking mirror).

Well I pieced together why he sent the Bodg Swap Necklace to Prince Jatis.
He said The Prince and Darkness would be the perfect match.
The plan seems simple, give the necklace to the Prince, transfer all of his assets to him, body swap, kill the Prince and marry darkness.
He would’ve had youth, power, wealth and the woman he was so obsessed with. Thank Eris that never came to fruition also thanks to Kazuma’s Efforts and Vanir’s Manipulation
@@Jony.1285 Oh, that's it! I did think that he would swap with Prince Jatice to get a younger body, the power of monarchy and incredible wealth, but I considered the connections of his evil plan only regarding the little princess.
I completely forgot that he said some episodes ago "Divorcedness would be a perfect match for Prince Jatice" and I disregarded it as crucial information, but now it made perfect sense.
That Aldarp not only a plan A, but also a plan B to get Divorcedness on his grasp. I'm so glad he got what he deserved. And with how he had a portrait of Divorcedness' mother in his mansion (I think she was the mother, because she seemed "big" in every aspect), I wonder if he was so obsessed with the mother (and then the daughter) that he was the cause of her early death.
@@AngraMajinuAldarp was even more messed up in the Light novel, which the anime didn't show.
He was obsessed with darkness since she was a child, had forced many woman that looked like darkness to marry him, abused them and then they started to bore him, he would make them 'dissappear'.
His first plan was to setting his son(the noble from season 2 I believe) up to marry Darkness and switch his body with the sacred item and kill his own son to escape his payment from maxwell and stay in his sons body to remain young.
After that failed he send the body switching item to Iris brother who will become the next king, then switch his body with him and kill the prince in his old body and later marry Darkness.
This has been a great trip this season. See y'all again in 5-7 years again!

It's literally the best business plan (assuming Wiz doesn't spend the money on garbage LOL)

A fantastic ending, so much humor in this last episode after the build up. I love that versatile entertainer, which is probably from some side path Aqua's been leveling up, is so useful. Such a good show.

the problem with the anime is that they display it as a beam from the sky. but in the novel explosion is not shown that way.
explosion is a ball of light that gets shot. so she simply shot it into the sky

Hi Alicia! I know it's probably been recommended to you before, but there's an anime you'll probably love since you also liked horimiya and sono bisque doll. It is called "Boku no kokoro no yabai yatsu", is a 25-episode romance anime, over the years it has been considered one of the best romance animes ever, with a beautiful story and memorable characters.
Now that you've finished Konosuba, I hope you watch this anime at some point. I love your reactions to romance animes, and I'm 100% sure you won't be disappointed, all the people who have reacted to boku no kokoro loved it.
Not sure if she's seen any of the other shows in it but if you want more of the Konosuba gang there is always Isekai Quartet.

Yeah so the reason the adventurers didn't immediately jump Aldarp and his men was because he was still a noble and they could get into a SH*T ton of trouble which is why they pretended to ignore him and then made up that assault incident in order to get justification.

You'll hear tons of people say something is as funny or is like konosuba, nothing is, however there are animes I would call konosuba genre. Combatants will be dispatched is konosuba genre and made by the same creator. And The Dungeon of Black Company is also konosuba genre. I'm not sure who made that one but I wouldn't be surprised if it was also the same creator.
I watched Princess connect re dive, before I watched konosuba and saw people make mention it got konosuba flair, mostly cause of the same produce or director. I forget, cause of that, I had to watch the first 2 seasons and fell in love with konosuba.

If I recall, according to medieval Christian tradition, abandoning a bride without consumating the marriage would be ground for an annulment, which would mean that legally the marriage never happened. So yes, by that interpretation, she isn't a divorcee.

I am that rare midway because i can appreciate the charchter and story writing but the humor is just not for me I droped the show years ago on episode 9 for obvious reasons but before season 3 desided to try it agien out of bordom having watched the 2 other big isaki and konsuba being a parady id like it moee but no the show still wasn't funny but its fine other then that
Aside from being funny Konosuba hasn't much going for it. As an anime watcher I fully expect the story to never evolve beyond the original milktoast premise: hero beats villain and brings peace to the realm.

I formally want to ask for a refund for my enthusiasm for this season finale. I excused episode 9 and 10 for being lackluster, as they seemed at the time to build up to a bombastic episode. The season finale is great, but the usual great. It did not have to have two episodes dedicated to establish what little was accomplished.
Examining the ending montage, Chris is shown to donate a larde sum to the wrecked eris church. What is not shown is her geting the demon summoning artefact. I wonder what happened to that.
