  • What if it was only Clarke who was sent down to the ground?
    An attempt at a re-telling of how the girl who falls from the sky and the girl who rules the ground fall in love.
    This is my first attempt to try and create a new narrative and my god it is hard!!
    Well, I tried. Feedback is always welcome.
    Tumblr: man-met-ego
    Created with iMovie.
    Music: Max Richter / On The Nature of Daylight
    HeadCanon below.
    Don’t read if you want to see if you can follow the story for yourself. :)
    ==========================================================
    Okaaay, so basically the idea of this video is Clarke is sent down to Earth alone. When the ship lands some of it crashes into, and destroys, a small Grounder village and people are killed.
    Lexa will have heard about this and has people sent out to look for survivors. In the meantime, Clarke is trying to survive by herself out in the wilderness.
    Clarke is captured and brought before Lexa. It’s like a lightning bolt for both of them when they first see each other, and Lexa immediately becomes protective over Clarke because of this. However, Clarke is scared/angry and somewhat in awe, but later tries to attack Lexa in a bid to try and escape, but can’t go through with it. They decide to include Clarke in a funeral pyre ‘tribute’ for the fallen village, much to the annoyance of the rest of the Grounders.
    They start to get closer, though Lexa is slightly wary of following her heart at first - she is head over heart after all.
    But, inevitably, Lexa succumbs to her feelings and kisses Clarke. Both are left kind of reeling from it a little. With Lexa still battling with her own Love is Weakness mentality.
    Indra and Gustus don’t approve, not liking how Clarke affects the Commander, so Gustus, in an effort to try and protect his Heda, starts to sow seeds of doubt in Lexa’s mind, and basically threatens Clarke, telling her harm will come to Lexa if they continue. Guilt tripping her into leaving.
    So, with a heavy heart, Clarke returns Lexa’s braid (a token of love from Lexa in this context) and leaves. But in the end Lexa chooses Heart over Head and decides to chase after Clarke. She finds out what Gustus has done and though knowing he was only trying to protect her, she begrudgingly has Gustus sentenced to death.
    Time passes and Lexa is still having nightmares about him. But Clarke is with her. They’re together.
    Well…that’s kinda what was in my head anyway.

      Aye, they did seem to go out of their way to try and ruin the show in Season 3. Lexa and Clarke were certainly my main focus, and reason for watching. I'm glad you liked the video. Thanks for commenting. :)

    The first sentence of the two brothers was:" You are the one...". A sentence that already predicts so much. Clexa the best ship ever. Clexa the best leader and CLEXA DESERVED SO MUCH BETTER.

    My god, that's gorgeous. Imaginative, clever, brilliantly edited, and "On the Nature of Daylight" accompanies beautifully the light of an eternal, all-consuming love between them. Very well done. I love it. Thank you!

      That's very kind of you. It was a hard one to do, to try and use scenes in a different context while hopefully getting the new context across. Especially as I don't use dialogue.
      Also, both with this and my latest vid, there is so little video to work with for AU vids as both are in the early stages of their careers.
      Also, with Lexa only being in 16 episodes, and then on top of that, 98% of the time I try to only use moments where you can't see them speaking, as that's a bit of a pet peeve of mine - that limits the options even more.
      So, yeh, all these factors combined make things quite a challenge, that's for sure. All good fun, though. :)

      That's what makes your vids stand out--you capture what they say to one another without words. Their eyes, goddess, what they say with their eyes is so much more expressive than words. I'm loving what you do and how skilled you are with the limited options. Great acting, yes, great filming, yes, and you just capture those exquisite moments so beautifully. The longing we see is something everyone in our community has felt and understands. I am so glad that is one of the areas you focus on. We, or I'll speak for myself and say I, am so hungry for more of them that it's easy to love a new context like this. Thank you!

      Wow! That is...i don't even know what to say to that, except thank you so, so much. That really means a lot as i have often wondered if my way of doing vids would ever have the same impact as other peoples, with dialogue etc. Primarily I do these for my own benefit, so I love that there are people that enjoy them, too. :)
      Thanks again for taking the time to comment. They always make my day. Happy holidays!!!! :)

    Ok.. i'm a bit late to the party, but hey!.. i'm here...
    This vid is AWESOME....!!!!. So calm, and respectfull, and well-edited.
    I've been living in a daze ever since Lexa died. Can't really get my head around the fact that a fictional relationSHIP can so totally ruin my life ^^.
    These two are so good together.. It's a shame that Alicia had to go do FTWD. But then again, i'd hate to think the other ways the makers (Jason) would have had them break up... Death is permanent, and it leaves an everlasting longing..
    DAMN... i'm longing.....
    Hahaha.. i've seen so much vid's lately, i was filling in the lines myself.. know all Clexa lines by heart by now hahahaha..
    Thanks man !!!..keep 'em coming

      Yearning is a good word. Mixed with the beautiful love story of these two characters it worked very well. I could feel a hopeful innocence coming from them. Like, they manage to heal each other's souls by being together and they can't believe they found someone that just gets them, gets who they really are inside. Damn, I miss them... but videos like yours is helping so thank you :)
      (Made me think of Oskar Schuster and his album Sneeuwland, especially "Les Sablons". Less of an epic vibe but you might like it.)

    • @jiminyrizzlescreative
      @jiminyrizzlescreative  8 років тому +2

      Aw, thank you. That's a huge compliment. I'm glad they help. But yeh I know what you mean. I miss Lexa, and her and Clarke's whole dynamic together, too. They were so captivating together. :-/
      I didn't actually start watching the show into after all the furore of Lexa getting killed off happened. It was seeing that reaction all over Tumblr that got my attention. The anger over Lexa's death seemed on a whole other level, so of course I just had to see what was so special about *this* character in particular.
      I knew what was coming so I figured it'll be no biggie. I'd tried watching some of S1 a while back and didn't really get into it so figured it'd be fine, I wouldn't get all attached.
      But *damn* was I wrong. I got sucked right in. I totally blame Alycia for that. She played Lexa to perfection. :) Needless to say, by the time I got to 307 I was absolutely gutted.
      I'd not heard of Oskar Schuster before. I've just put that track on. It's nice. :) Reminds me a little bit of *Comptine D'un Autre Ete* by Yann Tiersen. You know from the film Amelie? Awesome track, that.

    • @anaa7303
      @anaa7303 8 років тому +1

      Yeah, Amélie Poulain was a great movie and the soundtrack goes well with it :) The two songs do sound alike on some parts.
      Alycia definitely brought something special, don't think it would have had the same impact with someone else. I'm still gutted when I think of that day, can't believe it happened like six months ago... I actually watched it live (well, live from my country which was like 6 in the morning) because I didn't want to be spoiled, I kinda wish I had been spoiled now because I truly thought she would live since she was in the finale so it felt like a damn slap in the face...

    • @jiminyrizzlescreative
      @jiminyrizzlescreative  8 років тому

      Aw man. Yeh I really feel for all you guys who did not know it was coming. I dread to think how much worse my reaction would have been. :-/
      I can't do the whole watching thing live, because I cannot deal with American TV. The constant ads do my nut in. So I have to either just get spoiled or stay off tumblr until I've seen the episode somehow. Hah.

    I feel bad for homosexuals. Must be hard to have most people around you disapprove what you feel through every layer of yourself from your soul to your heart. Not beeing able to let it out, to hold it in. And the only person you can share it with is your lover... but it is even more terrifying if that love is impossible like Clarke and Lexa, there was no way they could be together even in your story. Sadly only death could unite them, and the living shall blame themselves.
