Thank you so much for featuring this unique store, what an absolute treat!
Omg you went! I'm dying to go myself 💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚
It's worth it if you are in the area again.
I drive 15 minutes out of my way to go to what we call this “fancy fish store”. Most things are a bit more expensive here, but in exchange you get good advice and after-purchase SUPPORT! I’m new to the hobby, so this is key. I’ve probably spent $1500 here in the last five months. When my son wanted a tank for his birthday, Cory spent an HOUR with him showing him the basics of aquascaping, how to pick good rocks, etc. This place is FULL service and you get what you pay for. But my favorite thing is their style; like if Apple had a fish store. It matches my person style, and creating a symbiotic living sculpture is a big reason I got into this hobby and why it brings me joy, healthy creatures that look beautiful.
These are the kind of stores that are cropping up more and more in the UK. Aquascaping is becoming more popular than actual fish keeping and this reflects that change. In continental Europe there are a ton of these type of shops (although this one is extremely nice!)
They need to be the norm moving forward!
WOW if those colors on the Rainbows aren't coming through I cannot believe you aren't wearing sunglasses! Stunning! Thank you 😊
They were amazing!
I live about a 15 minute drive from this store and go often. They sell hard goods as well as plants and fish and have a sand box where you can test out your hardscape ideas before purchasing the rock and wood.
The best part, though, is their yard sale they hold once or twice a year. I've picked up plant lights for under $40 (Fluval and Current), and almost got a small UN rimless tank for $20. It got snatched up before I could get over to the tank section that day. The items generally come from their tank maintenance work, I believe. Love this place!
You were living in the moment; no apologies needed. The fish gallery/store is amazing, and would be interested in a video with the owner, if you decide to go and do an interview with him. Thank you. Take care, be well
Hello Jason and Joanna 🤗 First, I would have never known this video was taken on your phone if you had not mentioned it. Second, wow, they didn't know you were coming and it just looks like that. Bravo to them! Favorite tank? Maybe I will be able to choose after my 3rd or 4th watch 🥰
That's one of the things I liked - it was clean just because. :-)
Something that always blows me away is how perfectly clean the glass is on such intricate aqua scapes... what a cool place!
Stunning tanks & fish.
They were so much better in person. I wish I had my normal camera!
WOW! Every tank is a knockout! My favorites were the rainbow tank at the beginning (that color!!!😍) and the Pearl Gourami tank. Stunning.
I agree! They were all cool
I REALLY liked the plant-less tanks. It’s just incredible how real and natural they look with just hardscape. They look like just a slice of a lake or a river - in a tank!
I live in Houston, cant wait to go check it out asap
Absolutely worth the trip!
The tanks and showroom reminds me of the Green Aqua on UA-cam! That's where Joanna got her mini river rock, it's so pretty as substrate. Thanks for sharing.
That is an awesome store that I would love to go see 👊👊👊
In the future I wish to have my own gallery of aquascapes
That's awesome!
I have been wanting to go visit that store, now I NEED to go visit that store 😃 Thank you
Definitely the Pearl Gourami tank. Next time I am in the area visiting family I’m definitely going to have to check this place out. Thanks for sharing Jason!
It will be worth your time!
Those rainbow fish are stunning. They look like Boesemani rainbows I’ve had in the past but more red. Looked great even on your iphone
Great video. You do such a great job sharing your experiences when you travel. Love seeing the Geophagus species:)
Wow! Quite a few fish I hadn't seen before, it looks like they have quite a nice selection
I can't get enough of this one 🤌🤌🤌🤌🥽🥼
Hey Jason good morning my friend! Thanks for your video.😎
Wow! Just wow!
Hey Jason - you should do a podcast with this guy with more footage of his shop overlaying the video.
Just my two cents.
I agree!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
Wow, this is right down the street from me! Gotta go check it out
What gorgeous aquascapes. I've never seen a store like this, but who has? thank you for sharing this. And your phone did a decent video job too! :)
I'm lucky enough to be 30 minutes from ADG and it's always a mesmerizing experience. I ordered my custom 6ft rimless tank from them and I have no regrets. The owners have definitely set a new standard!
awesome vid
I went to this place a lot when I lived in Houston it is an amazing store and when I walked in the first time I thought it was a gallery as well until I got to the fish in the back. Thanks for sharing.
I thought the same!
I'll have to check out that store. I've been to quite a few in the Houston area, but not that one. My favorite tanks were probably the first two. The rainbows looked amazing, and I'm a big fan of pearl gouramis (I have twelve in a planted 40 gallon breeder).
About too start aquascaping my 100 gallon and got some ideas now perfecting time with this video thanks
Very beautiful
Neat and clean 💯👍👌🐟
You did a nice job with the phone camera 🐠
Thank you!
Love the video, Jason! I was especially awed by the planted aquascapes. I love planted tanks, but do not have CO2 for mine. Lot of work, but so well worth it. Very inspirational!
Didn’t realize you were in town, would have shown you my tanin stained Pencilfish tank
Loved the tour, those are some stunning aquascapes. Looks like a great place. 🙂👍
So amazing! ADG is an amazing store online. So wish I could have made it over to visit. I missed getting to speak with Jeff at Aquashella. Hate I did. Hopefully will see home again at one of the next shows.
This is my possible goal. I have been thinking about how much I love my hobby and how how much I hate my work. My city and the surrounding area has basically nothing beyond petsmart and petco so everything is limited or must be ordered online.
That would be cool!
Beautiful fish store/gallery! Do you happen to know what substrate they use and where we could get it? I really like that small and smooth pebble/gravel look It was so natural looking. And I thought the dark color brought out the colors of the fish. Also the red swords or tall grass that was in the large aquarium in the beginning of this video was gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!
Great question - I’m not sure what they are using?
We just visited this place last week. I call it the Cartier of fish stores! I feel like I need to dress up to go. it's spectacular! Did you see the red pencil fish!? so intense in color. I bought two Bumblebee Otos while we were there and lots of beautiful plants. my husband surprised me by buying me a c02 set up for my birthday.
Awesome store/gallery! Strangely enough, I absolutely loved the tanks without plants! Filtration must be top notch, though.
The place is immaculate looks just like an aquarium museum in which you have to pay to get in 😂
I was wondering what type of tanks are used in this video. I am looking for a good quality tank. I am so in love with the aquascaping.
You could organize a video conference with the owner. I would like to hear the story behind
If you’re ever in Seattle there is a similar store called Aquarium Zen - stunning. There’s a handful of UA-cam videos of it.
The left side of my brain is filled with awe and respect at what people are able to create. The right side of my brain is filled with envy and jealousy because I am not one of those people 😲🤬😲🤬😆😆😆
I understand the feeling. Haha
Yes the first comment ❤❤❤⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🔥🔥
Hi Jason/Joanna, are there any “must visit” fish stores in the Chicagoland area you’d recommend?
Gorgeous store - thanks for sharing. (my vids are bad, you have no issues)
Btw just omg nice
Do you think that a Green nose Pleco, 3 Tiger barb Tetras or 5 Von Rio's, 5 Guppy's, and a Dwarf Gourami, would be a good idea in a 20 gallon tank?
I would stay away from the tiger barbs. They are best kept in huge groups. If the pleco is a bristlenose it should be fine.
@@PrimeTimeAquatics Thank You!
How can they use so little substrate in most of the planted tanks?
hey Jason I have a fairly new fish tank about 2 months old and I have piranhas I have a two parts per million Spike in ammonia should I do a water change I know it's trying to cycle or should I add zyme
I would do both!
2:30 what kind of fish are those bright red ones?
They might be Peruvian Pencil Fish #2.
Could I put 4 roseline sharks in a 20gal just themselves
They usually get too big. I usually don’t keep them in anything smaller than a 4ft tank.
SHOULD GET THE OWNER ON A STREAM
I agree!
Great visuals I just find the jazz music irritating 🙈 sorry love your vids Jason but I’m just not keen. On jazz it’s like nails on a blackboard for me 😜
I hear you man - I try to switch up once in a while. 😀
Long day of hauling water for the house and all the animals including the fish, drought please go away! Enjoying your videos as always but I think I would be afraid to go in because I might knock something over!
Cool store but overpriced. I live 2 min away from there and i wont go back there.
Hi Jason/Joanna, are there any “must visit” fish stores in the Chicagoland area you’d recommend?
Nothing like this. We will sometimes go to Tropiquatics in Lombard IL.
