I will admit that I bought this one to play on my Steam Deck and then of course, it landed on the upcoming section on the Switch eShop the very next day. While I have yet to play it on either platform, I am glad to hear that it seems to run well on the Switch and that most people can enjoy it. And as always, I appreciate the review.

I feel similarly, I've really enjoyed every game by Team Ladybug that I've played, so I've had high hopes for this game as well. All of the reviews and comments that I've seen about Drainus have been positive, so it makes me want to play the game even more.
Nice review but you missed 2 of the most important things related to getting this on Switch- performance and input lag. Does it hold a locked 60 fps? Does it feel laggy compared to its PC version? The Switch has been known to struggle in these 2 areas compared to other platforms and both are vital to a great shmup.. BTW it's normal for most shmups on Switch to have 1 extra frame of lag compared to ps4/5 which is not great but can be overlooked by most people. The problem is in those instances where a game already has bad input lag (anything from 6 frames and above is not good, so that 1 extra frame in those Switch games can just about make some shmups unplayable). An example would be the Psykio Collection which has like 8 frames of lag or the Cotton Saturn games published by City Collection at 9-10 frames
It's good to hear that this game plays well, I've had my eye on Drainus for a while and I'll likely purchase it relatively soon. The game being somewhat short on story isn't a surprise, that seems to be common for games of this genre and the action is typically the main focus. I've yet to be disappointed by a Team Ladybug game and everything I've seen and heard about Drainus has been rather positive, so I really look forward to playing it and getting to experience it for myself.
I picked this up on steam last year. I will double dip of the switch version goes on sale.
