Why so many subdivisions on the sphere?
To get more better and smoother output.
@@Gettutorials123 oh, I see. But... Smooth shading would solve it with far less geometry. The spheres are so small, I don't see the need for so many polys just to keep the silhouette round.
@@AllanPatrick7 You are right actually! The spheres are quiet small, so there's very little need to subdivide them.

It comes preloaded with blender. Just need to enable it under preferences.

Why do so many videos use emission planes instead of area lights?
Emission planes make the workflow more better and easier, compared to area lights. In area lights, you have to increase or decrease the light strength, which becomes more frustrating, when you are struggling with poor lighting. Well, that's my personal opinion. Area lights are also useful. I have used them multiple times.
