Hi, I am diagnosed with bipolar disorder, I am a 33 year old non binary male and I have mental health struggles.
For me used to be on stimulants for ADHD just like yourself, but I found they were really causing extreme mania. I had to get off the stimulants and have been off them for about 10 years. I am on a bipolar medication called asenapine that is a mood stablizer and it also helps with the sleeping issues.
It helps somewhat and usually it is ok however I am in an extreme manic episode at the moment with me pacing around the room and its so vivid I could entertain myself just by thinking and talking to myself. This hyperfocus is followed by an extreme low and lack of intrest which sucks because I know I am about to start a minimum wage job which means my mania and euphoria, will all turn into stress and lack of energy.
The thing that triggered the manic episode for me was just admitting to myself that I have feelings for someone, which sent me into extreme energy. I have been trying to meditate to stop over thinking about this person to the point where I become attached or obsessed.
I have frequent delusional thoughts and I have tried to talk to my psychatrist about schizo type disorders. The thing is I am very reluctant to start new medication after my many previous bad experiences.
My life situation is awful and the economy is failing. I have a batchelors degree but I cant get anything more than a minimum wage job. The shame that I cant keep up with other people my age and that I live with my parents can be overpowering durring my depressive phases.
I don't know who else is reading this. You are not alone. Someone out there loves you.

Can you current job count as your field experience?
I brought this up to my university, but they told me my current job doesn't count as a placement. They need to choose the school and supervisor to keep the feedback unbiased. Since I've already worked with this supervisor and school, they think the supervisor feedback and assessment might be biased. It's frustrating because I have the experience, but they don't recognize it as valid.
