Your so right about the small town feel and those autumn colors were spectacular . You said vivid , I was thinking vibrant ( both work). Nice ride and SAFE TRAVELS 🙏
I can't believe it, you unloaded at my place of work ! Small world, uh ? Also regarding the toll bridge, they took a picture of your plate and will send you an invoice by mail (and not a cheap one at that)
That construction on Tunnel Lafontaine has been going on since 2 years and not done yet. Once done, they will do the same repair on the other direction, expect 2+ years more. Doing this tunnel 2-3 times a day, doing container transportation to and from the Port.... As for toll, you'll get it by mail, price is pretty expensive, hope it's not too bad for you. Drive safe!
If you ever got time to kill in valcourt , the brp museum is neat to check out! Talks about how the whole factory started and where his inventions came from
Hey Josh!! Great video. Here is a unique concept. While I personally am quite the fan of Dave Ramsey, the fact that you are not, does not change my fondness for you and your family one bit. And I will fight to the death for your right to hold and express an opinion different from mine.
In the days before GPS and cell phones. I'd plan my route with a good road map and a steno pad. I'd use the steno pad to write down each highway # and each intersection was marked with my own shorthand as to whether it was turn left or turn right, It was probably more accurate than a GPS. I still use paper maps before programming a GPS because I find it gives a better perspective on where you want to go.
When I started my career in the trucking industrie in the Netherlands 25 years ago, there was no GPS or smartphone. In distribution we delivered around 12 addresses a day with a 10,5 meter city trailer. We just used a road map and a Shell streetguide book.
I quite well remember many days driving home from work where it was horrible traffic jams, for miles. Don't miss those days at all. Love those fall colors - much like Wisconsin.
I'm from the Montreal area you're right about Laval being basically Montreal. Everything within the 2 ring highways which don't connect to make a full ring for some dumb reason the 640 on the north side and the 30 on the south side is considered " greater Montreal". That bridge you drove over was a toll bridge you'll get the bill in the mail and you should never take the tunnel, from the 440 in Laval you should have gone toward the 15 to take the Champlain bridge or the 13 to take the Mercier bridge both routes would have traffic but far less than the tunnel.
That's trucking. When I lived in Massachusetts I would sometimes have deliveries in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont I stopped at the Irving's truck stops. Great place to take a 10hr break.
Hi Bro. Years ago when your father and grandpa were trucking without sat nav mobile phones computers etc etc were in my own opinion real truckers. yourself myself and truckers these days have it easy compared to the truckers of years gone by
looked like you drove under an auto toll/plate scanner when first going onto that bridge, hidden sneakily right behind the signage before it, like the plate scanners on the 407. As other's have said you'll be mailed a bill
Man Josh respect to you,,, i used to Watched every video of you 5 years ago , i got disconected of UA-cam for a little be, now one of your videos pop up in my feed and i clicked on it, ( love your videos ) Im sorry to ask; where is Diesel???, you deserve more subscribers 3k plus videos, whts wrong with UA-cam, this Channel deserve more than 1 milliones subs
Good thing that you had 23 hours to get to your next appointment.😅 Congratulations on your weight loss journey. Dave Ramsey worked his way up from bankruptcy.
Josh, like you, I critique the driving of other drivers all the time. I don't partake in road rage or obscene gestures but if drivers could sense what I'm thinking about their driving habits, they'd be much better drivers. LOL The clutch in Ol' Blue must really take a beating in all that stop and go traffic. Beautiful autumn colors on your trip today. Take care and drive safely Trucker Josh.
Doesn't even have to be in your dad's day. When I first started in 2004 in February of 2004 we didn't have any log or GPS you had cell phones but you know they were the unbreakable Nokia or the flip phone was just introduced and the only map you really had was either the Rand McNally Atlas which I still use even to this day I also have a Karen on my windshield but the only map system we had was MapQuest and that system was really good about getting you the wrong place 😆
The A25 toll you will get a bill in the mail. I believe it's electronic and will charge your plate if you don't have the EZ pass. I like stopping at that Irving for the St. Hubert. I remember the pay phones and the good old Atlas. Pay phones in the booths at the truck stops. Either called collect or used a calling card. Good vlog!
Josh, my map was a Perleys. That’s how I learned Toronto. I had a briefcase, full of towns and city maps for Ontario. I never use Tom Tom’s Google any of that technology. Didn’t have it keep up the good Truckin.🤠
I live in Montreal and there is a toll on that bridge. That is why there is nobody on it. The cameras are at 10:10. And since you don't have a transponder for that specific bridge (there will even be an extra charge for that) you will get a nice surprise by the mail in about 1 month !!! Let us know how much it is for a truck.
Yeah, that’s a tight spot to get into to. I don’t even wanna know how they got the green and lead on you but when you’re a driver as you know you gotta get into some tight places that’s the job and you did a good job.
Montréal now has traffic everywhere all day long..... Everyday...... I can count on 1to 2 hours after my regional milk runs from the time I hit the island to get to the contracts distribution centre in the western side of the Montréal island
On spotting the driver on their phone whilst driving, in the UK, some police forces use an unmarked truck on motorways(freeways) to see from the cab things driver's are doing wrong, both car and truck drivers...!
When I was a young guy ('70's), I started making a few bucks and would wonder at the end of the month where it all went. Paid cash for everything, back then. I got a pocket-sized spiral notebook, and started writing down EVERYTHING I bought, from rent and car expenses, gas, to eating out and even vending machine purchases (10¢ for a Coke). I was shocked at where my money went, and how much I really spent on the 'little things'.
Out Side coffee has MSG in it - Makes it yummy and addictive ! Stay away from outside food and processed food for 1/2 year and see how ur own coffee tests so much better ! Tim Hortons coffee smells like Axle Gear oil to me ! :)
I started driving in the early 80's with paper maps and a pocket full of quarters. I couldn't imagine having to go back to that way. It's so much easier to look at a computer screen and zoom in and out. Look at Google earth to map out the easiest way to get to the dock or truck entrance gate. I'll say one thing about the older days ( my older days) it seemed like it was a lot easier to find parking. Now days it's almost impossible to find parking near a large city or anywhere on the eastcoast north of North Carolina and south of Fort Pierce Florida. To many trucks and to few convenience for trucks. We'll let's just face the facts,,, I'm old lol. You younger guys have nicer trucks, better riding trucks, bigger sleepers with refrigerator and microwave and some have shower and toilet. But I don't envy you guys because you have bigger issues than we did with parking, long waiting to load and unloading. Especially the parking. That's the worst. My hats off to today's professional drivers.
Yes sir back in the day we only had paper maps and pay phones. I had an "800" number at home so it was cheaper to call home. Put the phone down a$$hat. Sometimes the toll is better. Big city traffic is like a vacuum cleaner. Hopefully no delays on the trip home. I love the ads that say "if I was BROKE I'd invest $1,000 in this" WHAT Stay safe
That toll bridge is a private collab bridge, nothing to do with the tunnel. If the whatchmacallits on the bridge read your licence plate, they will send a bill for using the bridge, PLUS a penalty for not having their transponders AND a fine for having to find you. Might take weeks or months, just be ready to have a rant. Could have told you to take Champlain bridge, go on aut.10, take aut30 towards aut.20... no bridge, no tunnel... less, much less trafic. Cheers Bobby
Random question, how do you keep the water from freezing in the winter? Do you keep it inside the cab and its kept from freezing by the Webasto bunk heater?
Brother.. autoroute 25 to Montreal is pay. When you take the 640 or 440 going to the 25 shout. Also day time you have tunnel La Fontaine. Is alot of traffic.. when you go to valcourt from laval take the 15 south . . After 10 to Champlain bridge ( free to cross)
BROTHER IF YOU WANT IS THE IGA RIGHT THERE WHERE YOU ARE TO TAKE THAT LOAD. PARK ON THE BACK . THEY ARE NICE I GO THERE AND JUST LET THEM KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BUY GROCERIES
I drive the 440 very often, and NOBODY knows how to get into the right lane until the LAST second. Super frustrating. Also toll in french is pronounced peh-aage. I'm an english speaker minority here lol Im just curious, how behind are your videos? Im curious when you came through.
Again hate to say it but you will eventually get the toll bill in the mail....... Check your footage you'll see the over head readers and cameras just before getting on that bridge...... You're paying the toll for the bridge only as that is a privately owned and runned bridge..... On the other side of it it goes back to being a provencial owned Autoroute...the highway used to end before that bridge on the Montréal side and there wasn't a road going to that bridge from the 440 back in the day........ The tunnel has been something to avoid like the plague for a few years now since they started all that work on it
I have to agree with you, Coffee is always better when somebody else makes it.
Your so right about the small town feel and those autumn colors were spectacular . You said vivid , I was thinking vibrant ( both work). Nice ride and SAFE TRAVELS 🙏
Very good sir!! Getting healthy and Pay off your dept!!!!!
Nice video yet again. Love you Josh.
Looks like a beautiful day for a 3 mile walk
Wow! That traffic was frustrating to watch! You kept your cool better than I would have.
thanks for the nice Vlog👍makes my day🙏
I can't believe it, you unloaded at my place of work ! Small world, uh ? Also regarding the toll bridge, they took a picture of your plate and will send you an invoice by mail (and not a cheap one at that)

Trump’s involvement takes this initiative to the next level!… join ongoing trucking empowerment
Great stuff and skill driving that through montreal 👏👏👏
You and I are fighting the same weight battle with the exact same numbers. Stay strong.
That’s the auto route 25 Tollbridge you’re gonna get the toll in the mail. Enjoy.
The charge should be 12,94$
YES
Hi Josh, that’s A25 they take a picture of your plate and send you the bill in the mail

Tom
Yep in You're Dad's & My Day it was the Truckers Atlas Pay Phones at the Truck Stop & Call the Receiver/ Shipper for Directions
If you ever got time to kill in valcourt , the brp museum is neat to check out! Talks about how the whole factory started and where his inventions came from

My wife and I team drive and even a Walmart shopping trip just to fill a fridge in our truck and cabinets with things is still $200+ nowadays.
awesome video trucker Josh

That’s right we have better technology. Makes the job easier but more idiots on the road now, Trucker is a trucker at the end of the day.
They were certainly the one's who paved the way.

next time you're around there take pont samuel-de-champlain to reach the 20 instead of the tunnel. the tunnel is under construction until 2026.

Hi from Laval Josh! Sad i couldnt spot you while you were close to my home! Drive safe man
Oh yes, gotta love the Irving’s out east in Canada, including in Newfoundland, got the best meals as well, including fish n chips

Over 2 hours! That's crazy! Was Karen saying, "Let's get going Trucker Josh!"

I like it occasionally when you speed up the video, it looks like you’re going about 100 mph (160 kph).
Thanks for yawning. Now I can't stop. lol
we used a thing called rand mcnally road map 🤣
Shout out to Caribou Coffee, best money can buy.
Good grocery store in MN Josh that i see you pass frequently is SuperOne Foods, Great Meat Dept.
It's an overhead reader and camera system just before you got on it

When you get your coffee from Tim Hortons or somewhere else, is treating yourself. You need to do that every once in a while.
Ole Blue’s lookin sharp great video Josh
That traffic looks worse that Chicago rush hour
A lot of UA-camrs advertise the AG1 immunity drink.
What's that?
WOW ! That Traffic is even worser than Toronto ! One lane highways 🤣
On spotting the driver on their phone whilst driving, in the UK, some police forces use an unmarked truck on motorways(freeways) to see from the cab things driver's are doing wrong, both car and truck drivers...!
I take autoroute 30 it’s toll but gets around the city
Hey Josh!
Cant forget to pop by the Bell Centre and catch a habs game lol

McDonald’s is the go to for me when it comes to coffee…Tim’s is gone downhill and not fit here in eastern Canada.
If I would have known you were going to go through Montreal I would have told you to forget it….it’s crazy
When you get the bill for the toll in the mail. Just be glad it isn't based on time.
Yes sir back in the day we only had paper maps and pay phones. I had an "800" number at home so it was cheaper to call home.
Put the phone down a$$hat.

Irving has no refinery in the west that's why no truck stops.
Rush-hour traffic
Valcour, that must mean BRP
❤
"Mount Royal". Hmm, never knew that's what Montreal means.
You like that high price coffees
No sighting of Peter Anderson? 😮😮
That toll bridge is a private collab bridge, nothing to do with the tunnel.

$150 / month on coffee, But when we are gone it will $ 0 a month lol
Roast your own winner the colors are great
Random question, how do you keep the water from freezing in the winter? Do you keep it inside the cab and its kept from freezing by the Webasto bunk heater?
well you are not in a hurry today
That traffic is when you wish you had a automatic
And not even a phone call while you’re in town.
Looks like Chicago's traffic😢
You would have been better off by taking the Champlain bridge onto the 10 still traffic but not as bad
I only fuel in USA. I get between $2.65 to $3.40 if I'm west . Price per gallon Canada is to expensive. I will be in Winnipeg by Thursday
Brother.. autoroute 25 to Montreal is pay. When you take the 640 or 440 going to the 25 shout. Also day time you have tunnel La Fontaine. Is alot of traffic.. when you go to valcourt from laval take the 15 south . . After 10 to Champlain bridge ( free to cross)
Is very bad traffic
Yes, that is the present autoroute 25. You will receive it by mail . No good news, sorry. And don't delay they will charge you $50 if you delay
BROTHER IF YOU WANT IS THE IGA RIGHT THERE WHERE YOU ARE TO TAKE THAT LOAD. PARK ON THE BACK . THEY ARE NICE I GO THERE AND JUST LET THEM KNOW IF YOU WANT TO BUY GROCERIES
Well you did say you have 23 hours to drive 2 hours lol
Never ever ever take the tunnel😖😖😖
Yup you're paying a toll... That 25 bridge ain't cheap without a transponder...... They'll catch up with you in the snail mail
Your coffee statement makes no sense 😂
It doesn’t cost anything to be courteous to other drivers, especially hard working truckers.
That's how they where going to pay for the construction
Don’t witty Josh, you received invoice bay mail for the bridge tool! Is a private partner bridge with the government!
You mean back when drivers were drivers not steering holders and doing what the talking box onthe dash says
I drive the 440 very often, and NOBODY knows how to get into the right lane until the LAST second. Super frustrating.
Also toll in french is pronounced peh-aage. I'm an english speaker minority here lol
Im just curious, how behind are your videos? Im curious when you came through.
I'm just wondering why diesel fuel became more expensive than gas, because from what I know, it's cheaper for them to produce diesel than gas?
Again hate to say it but you will eventually get the toll bill in the mail....... Check your footage you'll see the over head readers and cameras just before getting on that bridge......
