The 2015-16 Warriors blew what should be a historic run.
They made a new record for most wins to begin the season (24). Then 73-9.
They capped it by becoming the first team in NBA Finals history to blow a 3-1 series lead.
So they just settle to win three more rings despite not the top seed on the last two.

Yeah because back then the rules allowed for way more defense. They implicated the defensive 3 second rule in 2001, took away hand checking in 2004, and in 2019 they put in the “freedom of movement” rule which allows off ball players to move freely without off ball defenders impeding their movements. Nba defense today is a walk in the park compared to what it used to be, just ask Luka and Giannis, they both agree Euro basketball has way harder defense than the nba. That’s the game we’re watching @simplecleaning4296

I remember working on construction sites in the summer when I was a teenager n they had sports shows with a couple of guys talking about your local team and they had espn radio who talked all day about it.. people were different then we listened to the radio instead of checking our phones. Maybe it wasn’t as much yes.. but it’s not like it wasn’t talked about nonstop 😂 they did the same shit. And like the bulls then had skip bayless in the late 90s who followed them n wrote about all the going ons in the paper. Jay Marriotti did the same because Chicago had more than one major newspaper. Every city had that… It was still talked about and scrutinized ad nausem. It’s like people forgot 😂 even my little town had the cardinals St. Louis radio program who talked about them every day and then 3 times a week we had a local show with two guys talking about them. We got rams shows on the radio , blues, and nba we got everything Chicago bulls. Then we got national coverage with espn and CNN sports.. not to mention they had way more pregame shows back then that told you about everything. We also had inside stuff on Saturday morning that went over what happened that week. Lots of media coverage. And the bulls had wgn Wich covered everything bulls

To be fair, DRose named league MVP in 2011.
Unlike Penny, DRose's efforts after his 3rd year were enough to clinch the league's best individual trophy in the regular season.
Ironically, both suffered their injury in the 1st round of the Playoffs.
Penny revealed decades later he heard a pop on his knee in the series against Detroit in 1996 (G3?).
It's a mystery why Thibs still let Rose play despite having a safe margin and an imminent win with less than 90 seconds left in 2012 (game1).
Rose patiently participated in his rehabilitation progress that shelved him for two seasons.
Unfortunately, he's already a shadow of his former MVP self.
As for Penny, despite the pop he continued to play until East Finals then participated in Atlanta Olympics, instead of assessing his knee (can't blame him).
He was supposed not to play during 1997-98 until his knee was fully recovered, but played in 1998 All-Star, citing his fans still voted for him despite his absence. Not following the timetable could cost him his career. Thankfully he still managed to have a lucrative deal via sign-and-trade to Phoenix.
      And pardon the litany.

I remember this game. its was on a weekend. i used to love the afternoon games. I used to record them on VHS. There was something wrong with Shaq's Grandma or something like that. Which is why he didn't travel with the team. That was why he came late. Good game as usual between Shaq/Penny vs MJ/Pip/Rodman. Rodman never got the respect he deserved from the broadcasters. As a undersized Pf he would guard Shaq, Barkley, Kemp, Malone and other stars. And they always talked about him like he was a problem or nuisance instead of a hard working mastermind. I still watch the NBA. but they don't play this hard anymore. It's all offense, and no real defense and no post play. I miss this

Well it looked realistic bc it was someone huge like Shaq and Shaq ended up falling on top of him

@@actionjackson7020 hence my ‘strategic purpose’ but I’ve seen it done to Barkley too. Doesn’t have to be someone that massivw

I watched like it was an exame. I studied and it was. Top Brady, Michael Jordan and the true true greats would have dine it for free. Winners are not paid for what we prepare ourselves to win. We are paid to perform. I know.

I hated Shaq the basketball player... As a Blazer fan, I'm pretty sure everyone can figure out why. 😆

Refs in this game hate Rodman, but him easy defend vs Shaq, all this cheap fouls without ball. Just position fight. Easy. Handle. Him.

And all fouls on Magic players - kinda cheap. MJ was brutaly fouled - no, refs dont see. Rodman easy defend Shaq - FOUL. Traveling by Shaq half of time? No. Its good. NBA start create star for league at this time. Big nothing can Boy with right colour of Skin. Nothing without Kobe.
