Im actually here because I heard this played in the background in Episode 5 of Band of Brothers and I came to figure out the notes so I can play it on my violin.
This song played quietly in the vet's office when we put down our 17 year old cat, Kiki. She was so full of life all the way until the last two weeks when she suddenly declined. She wouldn't eat or drink during her last two days of life. I'll never forget this song playing in the background when she was put to sleep. I'll never forget her suddenly relaxing peacefully in my arms. I loved Milo and Otis as a child. I went and scooped up our new kitty, Mandu, in my arms while this was playing in the background just now and he licked up the tears on my face.
The first animal Milo met outside his family was Otis one of the barn puppies "You're a strange looking cat" Milo said "Oh I'm not a cat. I'm a dog" Otis replied
For the playback speed, set it at 0.75x slow. It'll be like the scenes in "The Adventures of Milo and Otis", including where they're sleeping while eggsitting.
this was the first song on a sleep mix cd my mom used to play for me every night for years as a baby/child. to this day every time i hear it i remember exactly what my old bedroom looked like, how the bed felt, the creak of the cd player when my mom closed the lid on it. i'm 20 now, it makes me really emotional
milo and otis was one of my favorite movies growing up, especially since i had a pug, and this song brings back memories of a time when there was no school, no work, no worries...ahhh the nostalgia
This is without a doubt my favourite rendition of this. Every other version I've heard (at least online) is just... slightly too fast and stiff, losing the melancholy, almost hesitant feeling this piece provokes. Beautiful.
Absolutely beautiful. I love what you do with this. Its reflective and introspective. I love it and most people always play this too fast. They seem to grind through it.

I listen to this song on a gravity game app called Orbit. 5 days later I realize this song is from my childhood and that's why it's so soothing and nostalgic. Had no I idea Milo and Otis introduced me to so much classical music..
Kevin Kline played this in the movie "Sophie's Choice", and it was actually him playing. I highly recommend the movie; Meryl Streep does a great job, as always.

Diane--Thank you for posting this favorite of mine. There was a time, now many years ago, when I used these pre-arthritis fingers of mine to play this song so often that my family probably considered erecting a disconnected piano room from the house! Hearing you play it brings tears. Thank you.
Dimeropepe Long ago when my mother was watching “My Brilliant Career” I overheard and was like “Is that the Milo & Otis music...?” Of course it’s also in Sophie’s Choice!
Ah, but in Otis' cave, there was too much winter ahead, and too little food. Otis knew he had to venture out find some more food and bring it back to Sandra and their puppies.
I know that I will sound like a child but there was a Baby Einstein episode with this song in it (my childhood nostalgia: Baby McDonald, I think that is what the episode was called)
Every time i hear this song i automatically cry it brings a warmth to my heart that comforts my inner child like a warm blanket on a cold day or a big safe hug from my mother brings my soul and my heart a comfort i wish i could share and describe, i can only imagine that this feeling is what hugging Jesus is going to feel like when I get to go home lord willing.
This movie was my childhood I've watched when I was 2 or 3 and I've fallen in love with it and if I have kids in the future I hope to show them this movie just like my Mom did
In all honestly I had this melody stuck in my mind since I was 6 years old and now I'm finally figuring it out now 20 man... im so happy I was able to somewhat remember this.
Man every single piece of music used for Milo and Otis just makes me cry it was always the movie I just couldn't watch without tearing up even as an adult
Hello, Diane. Beautifully played. Would you mind if I used your recording in my short film (non-profit)? Credit would be given, of course. :) Please, let me know.
Memories of childhood, watching Milo and Otis at my grandmother's house and a budding love of classical music brought me here. :)
Same here...I can see the beautiful ginger tabby that was Milo falling asleep next to Otis in the hayloft whenever I hear this :)
I watch the movie too and this song comes out of my mind when I think of the music
That's what brought me here in the first place.
Same, she used to make fun of me for crying at the beginning as a kid. Can't help it still lol
me too
“A-alright, a dog I understand, but... really, deep down inside we’re all cats, right?”
“Deep down inside”
“I’M A DOG.”
“I’m. A. Dog.”

Milo and Otis became best friends.

"Oh, I'm not a cat. I'm a dog." Otis replied.
@William Summers I’m a dog
@Matthew Brown "No," otis barked, "no. Deep down inside, i'm a dog. i'm a dog."
pretty soon it was the beginning of a big day for milo
I cried. I cried remembering milo and otis. Remembering my childhood. Love that movie.

My Labrador Retriever, Elly, died yesterday, living to the ripe age of 13. I dedicate this song to her: godspeed, old girl. 🕊
Rest in peace to her, I lost a parakeet named Omru long ago and he loved this song
