Have had this lens for about 3 weeks now and just need to find more time to put to use. Will be shooting it on an A6700 and A7CR in APS-C mode. Have bigger and longer lenses but none as small and light as this. Thanks for the video.
@@vivekbytesSo far so good. Its size, weight, and performance fits well to the A6700. If a longer telephoto zoom is a priority for you I would recommend it for you. Take care.
Fantastic review. You covered all the points I was considering. As a result of your video I placed an order for this lens. Can't waint to get it out in the field and put it through its paces. 🙂
@@josemariamartinez3427 well,I shoot full frame as well. So the A6700 and 70-350 is my longer range setup. I do use the A6700 for some family video. I live on an acreage, so I have abundant wildlife to photograph. I use my FF setup for low light and Astro.
Thank you for the very insightful review. I think im going to pait it up with my a6600 w 18-135mm for all around use. Of course Ill add an excellent prime.
Glad you found it helpful! sure, those would be a great pair, I hear good things about the 18-135mm but haven't tried it myself yet. A fast prime will make the kit even more versatile, I like Sigma's f1.4 trio (well now they also have the 23mm F1.4) , 30mm F1.4 is my favorite one, small light and cheap :)
I use this lens since 3 years on my a6400 (no stabilization). The stabilization from the lens is phantastic and the picture quality is very good! I have a tripod-mount from Novoflex on the lens - that's a very good balance from the combi!
True story about the sharpness all the way through. I have compared it with the Tamron 18-300 which is mushy as hell zoomed out. Been using them both a few years now. The Sony really is a fantastic lens.
Clear Image Zoom in photos is the same with cropping in post, so doesn't help much. But it is very useful up in video actually, just using the center of the sensor magnifies the objects, and still gives 4k resolution (if your camera is 4k capable).
is the optical quality of tamron 18-300 really that bad compared to this 70-350 ? can you do some comparison shots ? seems like the tamron 18-300 seems like a more versatile option with similar image quality and performance to me. Your thoughts will be highly appreciated?
I don't have that lens anymore but I will add it to the list of lenses to be reviewed. For a lens with such a wide focal range (17x), I think it was very good, and versatility is unmatched in E-mount, but the bokeh wasn't very pleasing tbh and wasn't as sharp as 70-350 at tele end.
This is the discussion nobody talks about. All I hear around is tanromn is really sharp. but the question is, how sharp is it in comparsion with this sony, because if it is sharp enough to get close to this one tanrom will be the choice defitnely 18-300 is a long focal lenght to go. Only reason I have yet to buy one of these is because of this same reason.
@@CLVlogs05 Any update on this? i'm also in this same boat. Which one should i go for for my a6400. tamron 18-300 or sony 70-350 for a hobbyist travel photographer.
Great video. I am intrigued by the performance of the Optical stabilisation. Is it the same on a6400 and the a6700? Does it perform any better on the a6700 because of the IBIS? This will inform my decision. I can then go for the cheaper a6400 and pair it with this lens.
I have shot with both cameras, and I haven't felt a difference in stills mode, but the video stabilization was better on the A6700. Even though the A6700 is the better camera, I still miss my A6400 due to its tilting screen (I am not a big fan of articulated screens), and for also being smaller and lighter.
Hi! Is better RX 10 iv o Sony A6700 and Lens Sony 75/350? I have seen also the full frame camera but the lens are very heavy and big.. I want a camera for my travel with quality images and possibile good zoom that can integrate my IPhone 15 pro max. Thanks you
The RX10 IV is so versatile, I love that camera, and the built-in lens is very good, only issue is the smaller 1-inch sensor, not so good at low light compared to the A6700. In bright sunlight though, you can't tell the difference. easily.
I paired this lens with a A6600. The results are very good, I no longer use LR because the JPEG files are wonderfull. Thanks for making this video for us. Have a nice day, Greetings from Amsterdam.
Glad that you liked it! JPEG s are realy good out of the camera, but it is still good to keep the RAW copies if you don't ave a storage problem (shoot JPEG + RAW). Thanks!
I did a comparison test between this lens and the Sigmma 100-400mm lens and the Sigma was not only more powerful but quite a bit sharper with more contrast too.
The bag at 01:27 is so beautiful, where can I buy it?
Lowepro Event Messenger 100. I bought mine about 10 years ago
That is a top notch review! All the critical aspects covered in detail. No fuss, just great shots and balanced opinion. Thank you 👌

One of the best videos about this lens :) Thank you

This lens and my A6700, satisfy 95% of my telephoto needs. Keeps me from investing a long lens for my full frame setup.
do you use it mostly for wildlife photography? I'm planning to get one.
@@BHKalabaw I would say mostly yes . I use it for other things as well it seems to be a nice camera for a long-range shots of flowers also

Optically, the 70-350mm is the better lens, but the 18-300 comes in handy as a travel lens. Here is my review: ua-cam.com/video/kSPsbNYz_6g/v-deo.html
What shoulder bag is that ? Looks the perfect size. Just got the same combo , A6700 with this lens .
I got a shot of a hawk with a mouse as prey on it's talons with this lens and this shot alone paid for the lens in my opinion, glad I bought it
How did you market and sell the photo, if you wish to share? Thanks!
I wonder if it’s good for panning shots of motorsports
For daytime motorsports with enough light, it should be good

Would love to see a comparison to the Tamron 70-300mm. I have one and love it but feel like this one could be better.
With 2x Clear Image Zoom is 700mm ---> 1050mm full frame equivalent. Is it enough for moon photos?
Clear Image Zoom in photos is the same with cropping in post, so doesn't help much. But it is very useful up in video actually, just using the center of the sensor magnifies the objects, and still gives 4k resolution (if your camera is 4k capable).

What about low light performance of this lens compared to Tamron 18-300 lens?
I don't have them both with me at the moment but felt like the 70-350mm was focusing faster at the telephoto end.
Nice review. You sold me on the compactness. My wife doesn't like heavy lenses.
Size matters! Thanks for the comment

Can i attach a x2 teleconverter with this lens? Is it compatible?

I have canon gear. I would like buy a6700 + this lens. But changing the whole brand costs a lot more. But animal focus would be great for my hobby.
If you have the Canon RF mount, consider the RF 100-400mm for a budget option; that lens is slow but not bad optically.
