Man oh man, I loved these segments... dig that wacky time signature, and that dreamy, echo-laden instrument starting around 0:23. Oh, and of course the spider's goofy dance right before he gets swallowed whole by peculiar floral eyebrow-snake. Good times.
i was so scared of these jazzy spies skits when i was little, the ending when all of the numbers are all smushed together and coming right at the screen scared the crap out of me when i was 4 O_O
I know you didn't record that many muppet segments but did you manage to record the Ernie and Bert sketch that was occasionaly shown after this called "I-8 the sandbox"?
And I also remember only the #7 and #10 episodes(in this series)had Spanish versions, as well as the English versions. "Uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis, siete, ocho, nueve--DIEZ!"(numbers one thru ten, in Spanish.) Hopefully the Spanish versions will be posted one of these days, as well.
A PERFECT example of a "food chain", from :24 to :34, in my opinion--the caterpillar eats the flower, then in turn, gets eaten by the spider, who, finally, in turn, gets eaten by the snake. If anything is supposed to become of the snake, in turn, my guess is his turning into the number 8. And yes, I,also, remember the eight ball at the very beginning; oh, well, what we have here is good enough. Also, as the part teaching 8 begins, where the number 8 turns on its side, to become the octopus' eyes, is also neat--well, an eight on its side does somewhat resemble a pair of eyes, of course.
At first I thought that caterpillar was a small hippo and I wondered if spiders like to eat hippoes. Then I learned from a SS book that it was actually a caterpillar. Too bad he never had a chance to become a butterfly.
I wondered about that myself - maybe that's why I've seen ALL the 'jazzy spies' sequences hundreds of times, but I only saw the # 8 one once and only once - I asked my mom about that, but she didn't know (she worked for CTW)
Ate!!

This spooked me when I was a kid.
Grace slick singing.....
Why don't cartoon spiders scare me while real spiders do? I love the spider's little dance in this, though.
you can hear the eight ball being hit on episode 158, it's posted here on youtube!
Why are these called jazzy SPIES?
Always loved this

I have that one! I'll post it soon if you want. I'm going to title it "The 2 train".
8 flashers...lol
GRACE SLICK
I was a second or two late recording the segment.
That is interesting. I did't know that.
That’s Grace Slick from Jefferson Airplane.
Does anyone here on YT have the Spanish versions of these Jazzy Spies bits? I remember seeing those, too.
Sorry, I don't have # 3!
Hey...that's very clever! lol

Love jazzy spies
You guys were right Jazzy spies #7 and #10 were done in Spanish, too! God bless!

Thank you! Now I'm only missing #3 and I have them all. :-)
What a classic 👌
I seem to remember a Spanish equivalent, myself.
What a number (no pun intended) these did on my very young mind way back in the day. ;-)
Were these also done in Spanish? Or did I just imagine that?
I remember this very well. Liked when the race cars all lined up.
I love these! vocals used to scare me sometimes 12345678910!
How well I remember this.....been so long ago......
I appreciate it, thanks.
Ha, two deaths in a row!
Okay everyone, If the spider eats the caterpillar, the snake eats the spider, who eats the snake?
"The snake stands alone ~ the snake stands alone ~ Hi-Ho, the Derry-O, the snake stands alone."
