Copper Drink Stirrers | Making Cocktail Stirrers From Electrical Wire And Marbles | Glass Markers

- I made some copper cocktail drink stirrers using electrical wire and marbles. This would also make great drink markers
The Process:
I started by removing the insulation form the wire. I then used a small hammer to straighten the wire. I then bent the wire back and forth using some round nose pliers (Link below). I then used a drinking glass to measure the right depth needed for the stirrer and bent a ninety degree bend at that spot. I then coiled the wire increasing the coil until it was about the diameter of the marble I wanted to use. I then placed the marble into the coil and finished wrapping the wire. I then cut and filed the end of the wire and used the round nose pliers to bent the final curl.

Safety Notes:
Acording to the FDA, Copper should not be used in drinks that have a PH below 6.0. Use another non reactive material such as stainless steel. Long before you reach the highest levels of copper in a beverage, the drink gets a metallic taste.
