    Good info on fitting the Willwood and Castlemaine Rod shop gear Sam.
    I basically decided to have a drinking game but I was basically pissed basically 2 minutes in so I basically had to re watch it again later.😂

    Hey mate, I never post on UA-cam comments but this deserves one.
    You literally saved my arse Cobba!!
    I, like you got all the gear off RodShop. Doing a HZ Ute build. Just put in the coil overs two days ago. Had a bit of a search on the brake side of things.After watching your vid realised I didn’t put the collets (?) in the rubbers of the upper and lower shock mounts....
    Farrkkkk, lucky! Was a bloody mission getting them off again as I lock tighten them. Was hard work...
    So, thanks for saving me mate.
    Looks awesome, is that Chassis 2pack?
    I will be following your build from now on 😁👍

      Hey Mate glad the video helped. I actually done the same thing but I realised before I bolted the coil over into the coil pocket. So it can be easily done. Other than that did you find the tubular control arm kit and the brake kit easy enough to install? I found it was really easy once you get the first side done. The chassis is coated in KBS chassis coater. Seems to be a good coating so far. Thanks for following the build and glad the video helped you once again.

    My mate fitted a ‘Blacks Rack’ rack and pinion Kit many years ago and it drove so much better. I think the Rod Shop have a version of a rack and pinion kit available that is very similar. I reckon for all the time, effort and money you have spent already, going rack and pinion would complement the new front suspension and bracket setup. Great job so far. 👍🏻

    • @ShenkeGarage
      @ShenkeGarage  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Big Al. I see the blacks racks one and they a little bit more than the castlemaine ones. I was looking at buying the CRS one but they are currently out of stock for a while. I think you are right but. Will defs compliment everything else.

    Loving your build ,, got a question, when cuting out the locating tab ,, you dont go flush with the chassis on both sides in the pocket? You only trim it back flush with the upper coil mount only , but clearly do the left and right side of chassis .

    Hi mate, I've got the same setup and have used the Mcdonald Bros Rack kit. Looks awesome and works a treat. Very easy install and you can get good money for your old power steering setup. I'll send you a pic if you like?

    looking good mate, Question? no steering bar? (to stop the disk from hitting the A arm) and do you have any side ways movement on either of your top A arms?? P.S. have a WB Panno and have gone for the bolt on rack and pinion.

    Im looking to get the brake kit but install some lowering coil springs from suspension megastore. Will the brakes still be compatible? I’m new into this and am looking for some further guidance

    • @ShenkeGarage
      @ShenkeGarage  3 роки тому

      Hey mate the wilwood brake kit is compatable with standard springs. It just mounts to existing spindle. Comes with the adapter.

    I noticed that you mentioned putting in the spacers between the mounting bracket and the spindle @ 17:30 yet @ 18:06 it looks like you deleted them?

    • @ShenkeGarage
      @ShenkeGarage  3 роки тому

      Hey Mate. The spacers are definitely there. I think you maybe looking between the caliper and the adapter plate and not between the adapter plate and the spindle. I found a split second where you can still see the spacers.

    • @wobblyplanks
      @wobblyplanks 3 роки тому +1

      @@ShenkeGarage Yep you're right lol. I was looking at them and wondered why they didn't machine a step in the adaptor. Overall all the stuff looked like it went together easily enough with good tolerances. I'm watching some of your other vids about the benches in the shed, some good ideas there.
