Do you want to know how to sell printables or digital downloads / instant downloads on Etsy for free? In this tutorial I will be teaching you how to get started selling printables on Etsy by showing you how to make mockups completely for FREE! You do NOT need Photoshop for this - contrary to popular belief you can make a mockup without Photoshop. Instead this will be a GIMP mockup tutorial, which is basically a free Photoshop.
Selling printables is a great way to make passive income on Etsy. BUT, selling printables requires mockups for your Etsy shop, with beautiful photography and great Etsy digital product listings. A mockup is a term used to stage your printable art in a picture frame (in case you didn't know).
If you don't know how to use mockups for Etsy, don't worry. In this tutorial I will show you how to create an Etsy listing photo and how to stage your printable art for FREE with a step by step walkthrough of GIMP. GIMP is a free mockup tool that can be used for Etsy. This video is great if you're looking for beginner tips on how to start an Etsy digital products shop. If you're intimidated on how to be successful on Etsy, just follow this guide.

here s some short cuts--you dont need to select & delete the ractangle part rather you can paste your design above the portrait section & merge both the layers.
But then can't adjust the shadows of the frame separately, or can you?
Absolutely. Get rid of Gimp. Powerpoint and or Canva does this easier.

Thank you for doing this video! I have a question if you don't mind answering it. I followed the steps of removing the art and placing the new art. However, when I place my new art, it's crooked and doesn't fit into the checkered space properly. Any suggestions?

Hey Brittany, thanks so much for your help, I am however stuck. As soon as I import the artwork to place in the frame, and I move the ' Art Layer' under the 'Frame Layer', Gimp automatically fills the frame with the Art. hence chopping the sides and edges off. When I try to rescale it, I get stuck with the chopped image/art. Also, Im totally new to Gimp, with no prior experience in Photo editing software. any idea/ suggestions what I may be doing wrong. One more thing, the artwork I'm importing is 24x36, thank you

when I opened the new layer with the actual wall art I wanted to fit in the frame, it just didn't show the whole image and I don't know how to have the whole image in there without having the edges cut off lol...

My question is do you have a tutorial on how to take my files with my designs and put them in folders and then when someone makes a purchase how do i get that file to them.. I do have a Question, as I tried to delete the inner part of the frame it became white instead of the little square space, the empty space were the actuall poster will come.
do you may know through your beginning stages what the problem could be? if not thats fine, I thought I atleast ask for help if possible.

My first guess is that you maybe didn't add an alpha channel first BEFORE deleting the area inside the frame. Right click on the layer and click 'add alpha channel'. Let Ms know if that works

Thank you i love your video, only problem I've found is when i scale my art which has text the text goes blury.. is the image too big or what am i doing wrong?
Ah I should have mentioned this.. sorry I didn't. So my artwork is VERY large - it's designed this way on purpose so customers can print it in large formats with high resolution. So I had to scale my artwork DOWN to fit in the frame. Usually scaling down will not result in loss of quality/resolution.
It sounds like your artwork is on the small side maybe? What size is your artwork? I will probably make a video soon talking about this topic.
To answer your question further, no I usually don't have issues with blurry text when I scale the art down. If I scale UP however I probably would. Are you scaling the artwork down or up?
